Seems quite a Mourinho player to me. 22 years old and a beast. Anyone have thoughts that have seen him play extensively?

Good player but not the type of player we need. We already have Herrera and Pogba who play that b2b role. We need a proper DM.
 
Not a big fan of his. Guarantee this is just stirring the pot by journalists to get hits after the Lukaku thing.
 
He is good but i would rather Fabinho. He had a shocker against Juve in the first game, was better in the second one though.

I also think he wont play here or any other Monaco player, but who knows.
 
Just because we hijacked one deal, crap journalists will spread rumors hijacking every deal, ridiculous.

This summer is proving how many journalists are clueless and know feck all.
 
I would probably start echoing the sentiment of 'can we also target some footballers instead of big lumps all the time' (or however some other poster wordedbit the other day). Still, 'size matters' apparently.

Getting one over on Chelsea again would be funny though. The media love a good old 'embarrassing' story if our transfernplans don't go to plan, and Chelsea have a habit of doing the same to others.

Seems a powerful strong midfielder. Perhaps slightly low on technical side, but physically imposing and gets stuck in from what I've seen.
 
Would definitely prefer Fabinho, though.
 
Would rather Fabinho. Think Bakayoko is a bit brawn but no brain.
 
it'd be hilarious just to annoy Conte and Chelsea again, but I don't think it's going to happen. Also not too fussed about him joining Chelsea, I thought he was horrid in the Juventus games. It's the other Monaco midfielder that United should try to sign.
 
Has a dominant league winner ever been shit on as hard as this if we do go for him? By a side in 6th no less?
If i were Jose I would still make an approach for Matic just to see what happens.
 
IMO, this is probably coming from Chelsea. Trying to make it as though he really wanted to play for Chelsea, even though we were in for himm

Same as Fabinho.

I don't think either of them would be ideal for us, but i believe that Bakayoko is our first choice for the DM role. Who knows if we will be able to hijack the deal from Chelsea.
 
This reminds me of Lindelof and Lukaku.

We were linked with them months ago (presumably due to leaks of legitimate info). But since the leaks have mostly stopped, the media are only getting wind of interest as things become more concrete.

This could be another move that everyone forgot was about to happen, only for it to completed within a few days of it being reported again.

I actually think this will happen. It's too similar to all the other deals we've done recently. Hell, even the Griezmann non-signing followed the same pattern. He'd have been here as well, were it not for Atletico's transfer ban.

I think our target list was written ages ago, and the players we're going for are the ones we all heard about in January.
 
Lukaku was our target too, we just beat them to him. We agreed with him a month ago, people are overstimating this whole hijack thing.

Exactly, it's not really a 'hijack'. So what if Chelsea like Lukaku? We obviously did too. All this 'he was going to Chelsea' talk - on what basis? They wanted him, yes, as did we, and we got a deal done.

We were also linked with Bakayoko long before Chelsea too. We're not obligated to leave a player for them once they show an interest.

Aye. The difference between us and Chelsea is that we've not been leaking to the media this Summer.

From the outside looking in, it may seem as though we stole Lukaku from under their noses. But that's only because they made it clear to everyone that they were sniffing around in the first place. We simply didn't. The fact people got the wrong idea is not on us.
 
It's interesting that Fabinho is the one that fans are excited about, but Baka seems to be the one that managers are more interested in, with seemingly no one really interested in Fabinho besides Psg.
