Ticket info thread - 2008/09: Touting will not be tolerated

I've never used a tout and never will Dan.
Scum.

If i fail to get a ticket, or get in another way, i'll watch it in a pub with the rest of the lads who don't get in...

I totally agree with you on the touting part, i hate resorting to it, however there is bugger all chance of me going to any away games by getting tickets via the club. Its a shame and i'm not proud that i've had to use them in the past but it is the only chance of me getting to aways.

Fair play to you for not using them mate, but i know that you're able to get to many aways and unfortunately that isn't the case for me. Good luck though, i hope you get sorted out...

Yup - was busy taking my wife to hospital on Sat so I don't reckon I'll start the 'tension - pro/con' debate until late tomorrow at the earliest now - just haunting the cafe for Berba-mation and came across another classic.

I'll be there

Well, although we probably need to debate it elsewhere, there seems to be a probable inconsistency in calling touts 'scum' yet resorting to 'other methods' to gain entry.

I personally don't actually believe in the free market as an inherent good, so I would be at liberty to label touts 'scum' without hypocrisy - but I only see them as approximately as loathesome as many aspects of modern business tbh. - and no worse than many other examples of antisocial behaviour.

The two things are completely different, and not comparible?

The only similiarity being they're both illegal.

anybody know if one year season ticket holders will be guaranteed tickets for villareal and celtic at home, as in, like they were not given tickets by defaault for barca and arsenal cup games last year.

Bit of a silly request, but if someone has to back out of United/Chelski at the Bridge then give me a shout!

Not heard anything, but I would have though they should be OK for group matches. Guess Celtic could possibly be a bit different.

I would guess its all down to allocation we give them. Seems the amount we have to gaurantee them is less in the group stages, hence we only got shafted last year for barca. I think Celtic wil be fine to be honest.

Different story in the FA cup and later stages of CL

I was looking at the tickets available for the home game against Bolton on Viagogo and there seems to be alot on there right now.

I will be going over sometime next year and wanted tickets. Am I right in thinking that the only reason people dont really want to buy off Viagogo and prefer the ballot thing is because the fees attached to buying off Viagogo?

And taking the Bolton game for example, now that the tickets are on sale on Viagogo, how long till they sell out?

Bolton on viagogo wont sell out mate, and yes, it's legalised ticket touting :(

So for someone travelling half way across the world, the best thing to do would be to get 1 ticket guaranteed through the matchday packages and then try to get a ticket off Viagogo for another game? Atleast that way your guaranteed one game.

I understand for people living in Manchester the extra 25% is alot but compared to the matchday packages its nothing.

Up to you mate, i can't really offer decent advice as i'm not in that position.

That's right, it's a good £15 extra. Most games against non-big 4 won't sell out and you should be able to get it on Viagogo. Midweek games will usually go on general sale.

But if I were you I'd probably book a matchday package just to feel safe, if i'm travelling so far.

I bought a couple for Bolton on viagogo yesterday.
2 tix for £40 plus (surprise, surprise...) £30 odd for fees.
So it's basically 2 in price of 3 - fabulous offer.

Christ thats steep, i reckon United will put tickets back on sale the week of the game for this match but i suppose you cant take that gamble and at least you are sorted for the game now.

You have to be pretty quick to get hold of the non-exec returns as most of the tickets that become available are the £50 unsold hospitality tickets in the quadrants.

Two spare tickets for the Villareal game

Face value, £36 each, if any of you cnuts want them?

Ok, strange request I think: I'm staying in Geneva at the moment, but will be going back home to South Africa on Sept. 29th, and thought it would be a good idea to try and catch a home game before I found myself on the other side of the planet. Basically, I'd like 1 ticket for any of the Borough, Bolton or Villareal games.

I've never done this before, so hopefully you guys could give me some advice on how reliable making this sort of agreement on here would be, because once someone confirms they can sell me a ticket, i'll be booking flights, hotels etc. based on that information, and wouldn't like to find myself in Manchester with a hotel booking and no match to attend.

Help with this would be greatly appreciated...

If you decide to go to the boro game, then you'll be able to pay for a ticket on the night either at the turnstiles or from the ticket office. Demand for this game will be significantly lower than other games and don't expect a crowd in excess of 50,000.

If you decide to go to the Bolton or Villarreal games then I would advise you to buy a matchday package from the club. You don't have to be a member to purchase a package and it guarantees you your seat rather than having to rely on a caftard to come up with the goods.

EDIT - HAVING SAID THAT VILLARREAL TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FROM THE CLUB. GIVE THE CLUB A CALL ON +44 (0) 161 868 8000. BE QUICK THOUGH AS I SUSPECT THEY'LL SOON SELL OUT.

It's quite expensive at £99 for the Villarreal game and £119 for the Bolton game.

Although it looks like a ticket tout website I can assure you that it is officially sanctioned by the club and can be accessed from the United website.

Here's the link to the United official site, click on Tickets & Travel and then Co-operative Travel Sports to view the other available options: http://www.manutd.com/

Good luck.
