Thomas Meunier

I'd be absolutely shocked and appalled if Darmian isnt sold this summer

Yeah, even if he stays (because of our asking price) then I don't see him playing any bigger role than he played in last 2 seasons.

Its mainly based on the reports of Darmian still having a £12M price tag on him, does not look like the club is looking to offload him just yet. But I don't know if the reports from @footballitalia are reliable. By the looks of it, Darmian still is in our plans for next season.

Yep we need him to pick up the cones after training again.

He wasnt in our plans last season. It's a ridiculous situation.

Regular reserve team watchers are not world class managers. You are so wrong about Scott. The problem is not what Jose, Ole or Scott are doing, it’s your poor judgement on McTominay. Im sorry mate, you are just wrong.

No, no, no. They really wouldn’t.

McTominay's abilities aside, don't you think Mourinho used him to make a point at times? I remember him playing in a back three in the FA cup against West Ham, a game we lost 3-1, when a fit Bailly was available and on the bench. Mourinho forced the issue with McTominay. He's been par for the course, nothing special, and another youth player could've been the recipient of this treatment if not him. The kid won the lottery. Again, not taking anything away from him

He's a good finisher.

Everything you look for in a right back

I'd take him anyway. Massive improvement on Young and Dalot.

No, not any youth player could do what Scott has. That’s the point. Jose also used Herrera there and used Pogba as a false CB as well so I don't get your point. The point of Jose doing that was to try and improve build up from deeper areas.

Scott is a good player and rightfully belongs in the squad. He hasn’t won the lottery, a manager who has won multiple titles saw his talent and has been proven right.

Being said he attended United games this season and still wants to come here. That's some TopRed material.

Hate to say it but I have a feeling that we aren't signing any full backs whatsoever this summer.

Like some have said on here, I think they will go with what they have and promote a youth player

He's also 6ft3, which would add some height to our backline, something we miss when Smalling is out.

Bad energy stay far away...

I would get AWB if we could but anything that gets Young out of the starting 11 I am ok with.

Think he is clearly our second or even third choice. Cancelo and probably AWB are preferred. But I hope we don't end up missing out on him. He's a pretty good player especially for the 25 mill Euros price tag

What's the hold up? PSG want to sell him, he wants to leave, we need a RB, low asking price.

What am I missing?

Maybe he is not our first choice and we are trying to sign AWB?
That could be true, so we will spend the summer trying to get Palace to lower their price, in the meantime Meunier will give in and go to Arsenal, because he thinks we don't want him and then we will panic and pay more than Palace were asking for in the first place. We could of course be really stupid and go with what we have.

IDK why we're ignoring the bargains in the market. Munier, Alderwierld, Rabiot, Paratey, all available for very reasonable prices, all would increase the quality of our first team (let alone our squad) and would give us the option to spend big on De Ligt and a RW.

Because we are unbelievably stupid.

Not rushing to buy any player who is available for less than £50m doesn't make United stupid.

Then there's the fact that not everyone with a low release clause actually wants to leave their club and/or come to United. It's not footy manager.

Yeah, good chance of that happening. Hopefully we work with tight deadlines, if we can't make a deal for first choice players then just move on to second choice.

We have already missed Brandt and T. Hazard for a combined 50m. The people who run the club just aren't very bright. This of course won't be news to anyone who has paid attention to the way we've been operating for the last 10 years.

I really fecking hope you lot sign him and we don't.

To summarise the current situation: Meunier wants to stay at PSG and extend his contract but there is no longer an offer on the table. If it comes to a transfer it will be a straight fight between Arsenal and us. He's a United fan so we have that going for us but Arsenal are being more prominently linked with him in the media.

Yeah maitland-Niles all next season would be mustard for you lot!
We've got Bellerin. We also have a £40m transfer budget so it makes no sense to spend most of that on a RB when we need a LB or a CB more urgently.

But you keep them passive aggressive comments coming
