Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Wasted the streak on Lesnar for a pointless shock pop, wasted his retirement on a bland Reigns push. Crap.

To be fair I heard Lesnar broke the streak because they thought that would be his last match and they'd already set those two up. And in fairness they did use it well to make Lesnar a beast. Then of course all that work went to waste when he was squashed by Goldberg.

Thanks for everything Taker, what a legend.

Should have give the win to Cena or Bray though. If not he could have won this match against Reigns, he certainly doesn't need or deserve to be the guy who finishes a legend.
I would imagine it was Takers decision to put Reigns over, Vince would have likely have given him the choice of who.

Last match or not, Lesnar never needed that rub. It should have been used to establish a star. Even Reigns, but that was fecked up too.

EDIT: That said, he ad been trying to give up the streak for years at that point, I'm sure both Angle and Orton refused the chance.

Still believe it should have been Bray Wyatt who ended his career.
Either him or cena, the passing of the torch to wyatt or a legends retirement match with cena like hbk, both would have had a better match than this, I'm not a big WWE fan but reigns without the shield is shit, ambrose and Rollins have good charcters to build upon but reigns is just a cena without the cocky persona and cena will rise to the occasion like vs aj styles

You can't say it's wasted yet, lets see how this plays out first for Reigns.

I get people hate Reigns the reaction to him winning was always going to be over the top.

A passing of the occult torch, would have made loads of sense.
Could have been a great spot before the start of the match when Taker raises his arms for the lights to come up, but Bray puts his arms down and it gets dark again. Then do the ring stuff from tonight's Orton match but instead of maggots and worms, lots of shots of Taker being beaten down over the years or an Undertaker tombstone with the PPVs date on it.

If the Hardy's hadn't turned up there would be very little to like about this show. In fact if I wasn't resigned to the fact that the likes of Orton and Reigns were winning coupled with a part timer having the Universal title well before the show, I would have hated it.

Ambrose is kind of fecked too, his whole gimmick is a lunatic, but they won't let him actually do anything risky or out there....

I don't know, you could make an argument all 3 haven't lived up to the promise. Rollins started well but trailed off. Reigns/Ambrose both haven't really set the world alight since leaving the shield.

That's the problem, we shouldn't have to be waiting to see, Reigns should have been booed out of that building for being an absolute cnut to the Undertaker. What we got was lol Reigns.

See, that's a quality idea!

Why though? I mean, what's the guy's appeal? Is he even popular among any section of the WWE fan base?

Well apparently outside of Cena he sells the most merch. I mean he gets the biggest reaction of any superstar and the most talked about wrestler every week. I people will say wrong reasons but clear to see WWE don't care.

I don't know, I don't get the appeal personally. I find him dull, boring and generally one dimensional. I could probably get on board with a heel turn and try and push him as a legit bad ass monster but even that has limited value until some baby face gets the better of him. But despite my opinion it seems that he has a lot of respect from the locker room and the higher ups and it certainly seems like he is the man that will take over from both Taker and Cena and we are basically stuck with him for the next decade or more.

For me they did book Roman as a heel in this. At no point was he the good guy in that. He maybe should have been a super bad ass beat down Taker with a chair, which I do agree would have been far better. On Raw if he comes out and acts the face, I'll agree tonight probably was a waste but I'll wait and see before I call it that.

Universal Title Match: Goldberg (c) vs Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman

Goldberg rushes Lesnar, but Lesnar slips behind him and hits three consecutive German suplexes. Lesnar celebrates, but Goldberg pops up and Spears Lesnar out of his boots. Another Spear by Goldberg. Lesnar rolls to the outside. Goldberg Spears Lesnar through the barricade! Goldberg tosses Lesnar back into the ring and hits another Spear. Goldberg hits the Jackhammer, but Lesnar kicks out. Goldberg sets up another Spear. Lesnar leaps over Goldberg! Goldberg goes head first into the turnbuckle. Lesnar picks up Goldberg and hits ten consecutive German suplexes. F5 by Lesnar! It’s OVER!

Winner and NEW Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar!

 This sounds fecking ridiculous.

Just finished watching this now, fell asleep last night during the ludicrously long entrances for the Raw women's match.

Pretty average Wrestlemania. I fast forwarded through most of the latter matches, except Brock vs. Goldberg. They should have had Brock really really destroy Goldberg like he did Cena, bit underwhelming the way he did it.

Hardyz returning was the best moment of the night, that swanton from Jeff was great.

Haven't watched any wrestling for ages so I had no investment in the stories for any of the other matches really. Like Brock, I thought Reigns should have really destroyed Undertaker if he was going to win. All felt a bit flat, but they wanted the Wrestlemania moment of Taker retiring to end the show. Reigns has to kick on as an absolute badass now and use the heat he'll get on Raw tonight. Doubt they'll do it right though.

And god, WWE really loves Flo Rida and MISSA WUHRLWIDE, don't they. Very lackluster Wrestlemania in terms of celebrities too.

New Day being hosts was a massive wasted opportunity and felt pointless. Why no backstage interviews at all? Like not even one. Show Goldberg getting hyped up for his match. Show Reigns preparing. Show somebody celebrating their title win backstage just to put over how big the moment was. All a bit flat.

Vince really doesn't trust anyone. Having Undertaker headline when he can't wrestle anymore is crazy. Trying to get Reigns over by having him ruin a legacy is crazy. Vince needs to retire before he makes it even worse. The ratings are already plummeting every week.

Everything going as people predicted in the Universal title picture then. All they need to do now is havr Roman beat Lesnar for the title and the most predictable push of all time is complete.

Such a strange Wrestlemania. It's incredible that they've increased this show to 7 hours yet still a large portion of the matches felt rushed. There felt like there was so many out of the blue endings. Understandable if you get one or two like that but it was well over half the main card that felt like that.

Also, Women's revolution guys. It's now been over a year that they've told us that Women now have equal rights, that they've broken down the barrier, shattered the glass ceiling. They spent months upon months of making 'history' with Charlotte and Sasha. Iron Man matches, HIAC matches etc. Cue Wrestlemania where on both sides every available woman is thrown into one match on both brands. 7 hours long...total time for the women? 20 minutes.

TIMES HAVE CHANGED GUYS! I LOVE THIS REVOLUTION GUYS!

So finished watching it this morning. My thoughts:

Aries v. Neville – Great match to kick off the event. Both were very game and hope they feud for a long time to come. Never get bored of seeing the Red Arrow. Deserved to be on the main card.

Battle Royal – Surprised Braun went out so early. Mojo only won due to celebrity connections I feel. Don’t really care.

Ambrose v. Corbin – Very disappointing. The feud felt thin, especially considering it started all the way back in Elimination Chamber. Seemed like both guys just went through the motions due to being on the kick off show rather than the main card. The finish was cool but the match was very flat.

AJ v. Shane – Thought this had the potential to be a disaster but was great. Some good wrestling in there and Shane held himself well. Stupid punches aside, the whole thing was entertaining, it felt it could go either way which was cool considering everyone and their dog knew AJ would win. Hopefully they use AJ better next time around. Oh and as someone said here, Shane also has my create-a-wrestler moves!

KO v. Jericho – A well thought out and perfectly laid rivalry. The match told a great story with all the counters and stuff. Jericho always brings it and the finger on the rope bit was genius. Just hoped the ending would have been slightly more spectacular but overall, was one of the best matches on the card.

RAW Women’s Match – Started brightly. Clever way of getting rid of Nia Jax, and making her look strong whilst doing it. But after that it just fizzled out. Sasha went out pathetically, the expected heel turn wasn’t done (I know they’re saving it for Raw but would have added something here), and Bailey retaining didn’t feel big. Would have been better if she won the title whilst ending Flair’s PPV streak. But that would make too much sense for Vince…

RAW Tag Match – Loved the introduction of the Hardy’s. Especially how New Day delivered it, was spot on. Sheamus and Cesaro entrance was also sick. Some great high flying stunts from the Hardys as expected but don’t think they needed the win. Let’s see where they go from here.

John Cena & Nikki v. The Miz & Maryse – Completely derailed the momentum. Flat match, Maryse was made to look like the useless cnut John Cena described on the previous SD, which is a shame. Miz was good but it was a flat match with a flat ending and an AWFUL proposal. What a joke. They built the match up well on SD and it led to this crap. Hated it.

Seth Rollins v. HHH – Really enjoyed this. The entrances were the best of the show, Stephanie looked smokin’ hot, the match was brutal for a PG era and the end was perfect. Steph going through the table was hilarious. Wanted Samoa Joe to have some impact here. His absence was baffling.

Orton v. Wyatt – Wasn’t the worst but definitely the most disappointing match of the whole card. Wyatt should have had a run with the title as Randy doesn’t fecking need it at this point. And what was the use of Wyatt doing all the mind games only to lose? Made him look like a complete chump. He is a very interesting character that the WWE won’t let shine for whatever reason.

Brock v. Goldcunt – Good way to tease the early finish and the match felt very nerve-racking as you knew it would finish quick but it also just felt like a highlights package. 4 moves repeated over and over. Good to see Goldcunt rag-dolled but wanted more of that. I guess this is as good as you’ll get with these two in the ring. Hopefully Brock loses the title soon.

SD Women’s Title Match – So everyone thought Vince listened to the fans? Hahaha he just slapped everyone in the face and put it as the piss-stop match and gave it less time than it would probably have gotten on the pre-show. It was pretty awful too… would rather have seen Rene Young do a strip tease for 5 minutes.

Roman Reigns v. Undertaker – Wow, what a shit way to finish the event and it leaves a sour taste in the mouth after what was a decent event. The match started off well but went to botch-job city when it mattered. Don’t understand how Vince thinks he’ll get RR over by having him beat the most beloved wrestler clean… was perfect opportunity to turn him heel. Also, does he kick out of EVERY BLOODY MOVE? He just can’t lose clean can he?

All in all a decent card but the lasting memory will be RR retiring Undertaker… sad times indeed.

WM was much better then I expected so i'm happy about that. The second half of the show kinda fell off a cliff though.

Gutted the Hardy's are not going to be in their 'broken' gimmick.

Obvious is obvious.

He's very popular with the younger fans, they just so hapen to be the section who are the easiest to manipulate. Give them a good guy who wins a lot and looks strong and they'll cheer and buy his stuff. Some are obviously better at others in that role, Cena is the bloody master at it and Reigns does do well.

Felt a bit sorry for Reigns that the backlash will come at him for retiring Taker but then I remembered the push he has had for the last 2 years then I didn't feel sorry for him any longer.

And I swear to this day, Lex Luger > Roman Reigns

It's weird because despite the negative reaction, people still appear to buying Roman's merch and still attending shows. I heard Meltzer say Roman's merch sells just as well as everybody else's so it appears people aren't voicing their opinion with their wallets.

I am never Watching wwe again and wil not let my future kids to watch is as well. p d on Vince Mchmon to destroy and humiliate the leagacy of Undertaker

WWE just lost a veiwer in myself and my family tree.

Right sorry its late.

Please check your scores individually here because I did this whilst being super tired so theres a chance I made mistakes!

Well done @paulscholes18. Called every match correctly barring the Battle Royal, RAW Tag match & IC Title. Also correctly called Hardyz and the right match length for Brock vs Lesnar.
