Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Basically they wanted this to be the greatest wrestlemania ever and they wanted to break the record for fastest ever match at mania but they didnt beat it so it was an unfortunate flop. chavo vs kane was 8 seconds, this was 18.

They obviously rang the bell too early. The were supposed to ring it just as or after DB kissed AJ.

Lesnar is back! I did not see that coming :wenger:

The last time I saw Brock in the WWE he fought Goldberg in one of the worst matches I can remember.

Del Rio and Sheamus has great potential. That should last a while.

Do you reckon Lesnar will be a heel? He will be over with the fans big time but he is a much better heel.

I think they'll try to make him a heel and everyone will still cheer him. People don't want to boo Brock!

I don't get overly dramatic about single episodes. Things like the Nexus destroying Raw or Punk's "4th Wall" speech were great segments in otherwise forgettable shows. That was a genuinely great show, and the hottest US crowd I've seen for any sport or sport-like event ever.

the crowd was chanting 'we want lesnar' and cena didnt know what to do so he kept repeating himself. it seems like people have had enough of him.

Oh my god, Brock is back. I can't believe this!

I love Brock Lesnar. And, that pop by the crowd was the greatest pop in recent memory of the WWE, it was how the crowd used to be every week.

More of that please.

Kinda stunned Brock actually happened without any hype from WWE themselves whatsoever.....that's the first time they've done that in years for a huge return(marketed all of Takers and Jerichos, Rocks for like a month, Bret, Austin etc etc) and it showed in a damn good reaction compared to the other non Rock ones.

I guess Brock vs Cena will be again the year countdown or something again, though that would of made more sense had Cena won, even though these two actually have a history back when Smackdown was a beast of a show.

Rock will chase the title in a part time basis I guess.

btw, JERICHO IS EXCELLENCE....his twitter for that slip was fecking brilliant. He's done the two best feuds in the past 5 years it's stupid how good he is.

Thought Mania was decent some good bits

Matches:
The Rock vs. John Cena = John Cena - Another good match crowd really got into it and keep people quite gripped didn't think it woul dend like that though. Both put on a really good display.

Triple H vs. The Undertaker = The Undertaker- Match of night it we all knew Taker would win but it was all about telling a story and they did just that.

CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho = CM Punk- Good match thought it would have been at a faster pace took a while for the crowd to get going. Good finish.

Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus = Sheamus- Pointless none match why do that at Mania. If i was either of these two i'd be pissed that they couldn't have a match but Clay could finally call his mamma and dance around like a pillock for 10mins.

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show = Big Show A good enough match nothing spectacular, why did show get so emotional over winning the IC title.

Randy Orton vs. Kane = Randy Orton Was a decent match considering the whole story was thrown together.

Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny = Team Johnny Awfull match i thought it was just a way to shoe horn people in to give them some time at mania.

Maria Menounos & Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix & Eve Torres = Maria & K2 - Didn't watch it.

Brock returned? Firmly with his tail between his legs I imagine.

Real shame it did not work out for him in UFC.

I think once Cena didn't say anything shooting down the Lesnar idea when the crowd were chanting for him, it was obvious he was coming back. Normally in the past when the crowd have chanted for someone who isn't there the guy in the ring will say something denying it (e.g. Vince with the Jericho chants at No Mercy one year during the SU222 thing)

Then again, like the night Bischoff arrived in WWE, it wasnt written into the script and he arrived at the building about a minute before coming out on the broadcast. I imagine Cena knew but I don't think many others at the show did.

Obviously no-fake out return is better than this at 7 minutes.

The ridiculous pop to that, when WWE crowds were like an all time low for noise should of been proof as to why WWE should of done more surprise returns instead of hyping them up for weeks on end. Brets legit return was dead as feck in comparison.

What a crowd. If only RAW could be in front of a crowd as hot as that every week?

I thought it was a brilliant RAW... really enjoyed watching it, and I'm pretty sure the crowd played a massive part in that.

As for Brock's return... feck me what a pop, and what a return. Thought it was a bit daft that he had Cena on his shoulders for a good 5 seconds before F5'ing him... surely Cena would have struggled out of it in that time? Or at least attempt to struggle out of him? Just a little annoyance, though insignificant in the grand scheme.

Also did Brock have a gut??

I remember that, I'm sure Shawn was actually a face at the time too which just made it kinda weird.

Hopefully future crowds take a lesson. Miami and Chicago crowds are magnificent (look back to Money In The Bank PPV from last year).

Agree with the Cena bit, he was selling that move just as well as Lauranaitis sold Punk's GTS.

Holy shit, did I hear The Rock right? ONE MORE TIME?

YES! YES! YES!
I will only 'YES!' to that if, on his way to the title, he's not part-time. Otherwise if he's coming in every so often and gets the title then that just makes a mockery of the championship and it's a big middle finger to the rest of the roster who are there night after night.

Hmm, apparently Tensai translates (or can translate, I'm just going off rumours here) to Disaster.

So Laurinaitis telling Punk to expect a natural disaster makes a bit more sense. Although I have to say I was looking forward to the returns of Earthquake and Typhoon.

Daniel Bryan is ridiculously over right now. I laughed my arse off at "Si Si SI"

DB addressing crowd after Raw. Apparently he was in a dark match and every one of his punches and kicks got yes'd whilst any move against him got no'd.

He can take a chair shot but not a beating from Alistair Overeem.

If WWE fans watched his last 2 UFC fights it will be hard for them to think of him as an unstoppable heel

When did all this YES YES Yes start? I must have missed some thing.

Daniel Bryan retained the World Championship against Big Show by DQ and started celebrating shouting YES! YES! YES! and its grown from there. Now he does it every time he wins. It's actually got him over because up until around Elimination Chamber time nobody reacted to him at all.

Dude, it's 2012! At this point they've conditioned the crowd to see the belts as props and nothing else. You can't make a mockery of something that doesn't mean anything anyway. When you've got the titles flipping every month on PPV and the champion loses on TV all the time, and guys like Cena and Orton and Edge have like a million month long title reigns each, and the belt is a children's toy ... I dont think they're worried about the title!

The basics work the best really for crowds....yes, really and what came out of little, but they are brilliant for reactions at their peaks.

Bryan and Punks quite long reigns have given them some creditability, they need to find a way of keeping WHC creditability after the farcical Mania match.

I dont think its ever been that credible, the WHC is basically a glorified version of what the IC title used to be in the 80s. It's always been all about the WWFE Championship.

They're not just belts though, they're championships. They're supposed to mean something. They're supposed to reflect your standing in the company and rank in the roster and most of all, the WWE champion is 'the guy.' He's the face of the company and the leader of the roster. I see your point about how WWE are treating the titles though. The champions are barely main-eventing anymore. It's a real shame.

Titles in WWE had diminished in importance when I was watching it a few years ago too.

I think it started when Vince made himself champ for the main title

Intercontinental Title went downhill when they introudcued loads of other belts like the Euro Belt and the Hardcore Title

I know they're supposed to mean something, but they don't. I think that's one of the reasons they aren't selling as many pay-per-views, because there's nothing legitimate to fight for anymore. They throw everything out there for free on tv and it means nothing. Good example of that ... Jericho pinned Punk clean in a tag match like 3 or 4 weeks ago, so why would anyone believe Punk had a chance at Mania? They do this shit all the time and it drives me mad.

The WWE Champion should lose, at the very most, one or two times a year on RAW. If they're going to wrestle at all (and personally I don't think they should - save it for the PPV and make people PAY to see it so you actually make some damn money for a change) they should look like ... well ... a champion!

Oh and this year the WWE title was absent in the Mania media blitz, I couldnt believe that. Everything mainstream wise focused around Rock and Cena, hell even last year they had Miz on Conan O'Brien before Mania as champion. Shouldn't they be using the spotlight they've attracted with Rock to get over their other stuff too so that when Rock leaves again half the viewers don't file out behind him?
