They will be practising like mad behind the scenes.

There should still be some physical altercation. I remember Rock Vs Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 17 and they were beating the Hell out of each other in the lead up and it really made people want to watch them go at it in a match. The Rock vs Cena is just a bit meh in terms of build up. I'll probably watch it because its The Rock but I am not greatly excited over the story or anything like that.

I suppose it is pretty rare to get a face vs face scenario that isn't dull as they obviously don't want to make either seem weak (even though they kind of have with Cena)

You must be referring to the single greatest promo video from the WWE:

Good times those were. Nowadays the build ups are nothing more than stare downs and promises to whoop each other's candy ass.

Even though the build-up hasn't been great I'm excited about the actual matches. The card looks fantastic (bar the Divas match) and it should be a great show. I just really hope that enough attention by the cameras and commentators is given to other matches and they won't be constantly harping on about the main event all throughout the show. Although let's face it, that won't happen.

That's what I don't understand because I stopped watching wrestling about that time and since I've got back on it it's all talk. Throughout the build up I've seen no wrestling, I would have thought seeing as the rock HHH undertaker etc have been out for a while they'd be getting a few matches under their belt.

Last week's slanging match between Cena and The Rock has been lame.

That's definitely my favourite promo. Everything was perfect in the build up. The ending of the match was disappointing, even stone cold admitted he thought about changing the heel turn during the match.

That was the biggest problem with Austin I found, his journey to the belt was far better than his actual reigns.

So, Rock finally stepped up his promo work and delivered an...average promo.

If he wrestles as bad as he talks nowadays, he's going to make The Great Khali look like Ricky Steamboat.

Not a great RAW I thought... especially considering it's the biggest go-home show of the year. If you were on the fence about whether to buy Mania and tuned into this show to see if it would sway you... I imagine you'd have been unmoved.

If you were watching this show with a total stranger who had never in their life seen wrestling before, you would forgive them for thinking Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny was the mainevent. That program seemingly got the most time and the most build from this card.

I would have liked to see Jericho/Punk in actual face to face confrontation (or at least ramp to ring)... whilst Jericho's promo was fine, it doesn't seem as impactful being on the tron two weeks in a row.

Cody's promo on Show was good... possibly the best mic work of the night.

Why have Brodus on this show?? It makes absoultely no sense. You're trying to sell Wrestlemania, an event that he is not on. Why waste 5 minutes giving him air time? Especially if you know that you're going to be running late at the end. Rock and Cena could have used that 5 minutes for a bit of confrontation or to give that segment a proper ending as opposed to just a fade out.

As for Rock and Cena... it was alright, I wanted a little bit extra though. The Rocks opening was fine... but then it seemed he got cut-off just as he got to the crux of the issue. Then, John Cena cut a fantastic heel promo... though I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. He bragged about winning all the time (reminding people why they hate him in the first place surely??) and just generally came across as a cocky heel, which I found odd. Also he also did an excellent job of explaining why he will win the match... from a kayfabe standpoint. He basically told every "smart" fan exactly why he's going to get the win on Sunday...

I was then hoping The Rock would cut a promo akin to the excellent one he did last week, but alas it seemingly didn't happen. Looked like he was rushing to get all his points out quickly and it didn't quite work. The end was all a bit anti-climactic though... you could tell they were really short on time, as they were over-running massively and the sudden ending was probably a concequence of that.

Watched a bit of Raw for the first time in a long time yesterday, almost fell asleep with boredom.

In the attitude era or post-invasion era, the final Raw before WM would be epic not this snoozefest. Rock-Cena get in each other's faces, they're trash talking and then the show ends  I was expected them to brawl and one of them to hit their finisher and celebrate ahead of Mania, instead I got that? If that was Austin, I'd have got a stunner and a beer celebration and that would get me pumped for Mania even if I didn't watch wrestling regularly.

Also, how can Rock-Cena be the biggest match ever? I assume the Rock will bugger off again after WM, he's not even a wrestler anymore. The Austin-Rock match at WM 17 was bigger as both were at the height of their popularity at the time, the Hogan-Rock match was bigger as it was a true icon v icon match. Rock-Cena just seems like a testimonial match for the Rock - he'll win and then back to hollywood for him.

Having seen Raw yesterday, I have very little interest in WM and I doubt I'll be watching WWE again anytime soon.

Finally, who the feck is that fat guy and why did they waste 5 mins with his pointless dancing?

Brodus needs a proper storyline now. I was thinking during his match (and after it, because I didn't have time to finish thinking before the match was over) that it might be an idea for him to feud with somebody like Kane or Mark Henry. I know the matches would probably be absolutely horrible from a technical standpoint, but if you look at it through the eyes of the Little Jimmies, then it would be a feud that gives Brodus some credibility.

If Kane/Mark shows up during one of his post match dancing sessions, and attacks him, then you can have a few weeks where the heel cuts promos that are basically "I don't like you having fun," leading to Brodus winning at a PPV. That makes the casual audience think "oh, so he can beat people that haven't come from NXT."

I know I'll probably get "Kane shouldn't be used to put that sack of crap over" replies, but at this stage in his career it's probably the best use for Kane. He's also a guy that's been put through a lot of shit in his career, and he's still managed to come out of it as a believable monster heel.

Currently that is arguable at best. IMO he is so lame nowadays, just as much so as without the mask. I don't even like the new mask. He should've come back with one that covered his whole face.

Very disappointed with the Rock's ending promo, it lacked any kind of panache. His 'reason' for returning also comes across as very selfish! i.e. wanting to be the greatest of all time. It didn't stack up to Cena's need to win.

I was also hoping Punk and Jericho were going to have some sort of altercation. Apparently not.

Anybody excited about Lord Tensai? (if you want to know who it is read below):
Matt Bloom aka Prince Albert aka A-Train

The AJ - Bryan storyline is disturbing. I get it's kayfabe, and he's on a brilliant heel push, but the slow burning build up to what seems to be an "abusive relationship" story is quite uncomfortable to watch.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he's going to cheat on AJ with one of Bella twins. He's dating one of them in real life and wwe wants to make them the next Macho man and Elizabeth.

Well kayfabe cheating etc is fair enough, but where are they going with the sinister side to their relationship?

Im hoping AJ helps Bryan against Sheamus and she turns sinister as well ¬¬

As long as Bryan wins, I'd be happy. His title run has so much more potential than a possible Sheamus one.

Would it not be possible to suggest he already is heel?

A unique one maybe, in that he isn't written as one, but many fans turn up every week merely to boo him. Pretty heel like...

Adding a poll to see how many people think Cena will turn heel at mania and how many think he won't would be good right now.

I may have actually scrolled up to find the poll. :nervous:

I don't, by the way.

You'd imagine that, at some point she will turn on Bryan and empower herself... as that would be the logical "good" conclusion. But then, this is the WWE... the palce where HHH goes over the man he racially put down at 'Mania 19.

Although I do think we should have a nice early sweepstake soon.

Good thinking... here's a rough template.

The Rock vs. John Cena =

Probably get these all wrong

Matches:
The Rock vs. John Cena = John Cena - he can't lose IMO.
Triple H vs. The Undertaker = The Undertaker - streak will not end. HBK realises that HHH can't do the job and out of respect counts the 3.
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho = Chris Jericho - from a non-kayfabe perspective, he's signed a contract extension. Makes me think that he will win to continue the feud.
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus = Sheamus - he barely ever loses.
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show = Cody Rhodes - I reckon this might be a clean win for some reason.
Randy Orton vs. Kane = Randy Orton - Kane is shit.
Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny = Team Johnny - too many stars on his team not to lose.
Maria Menounos & Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix & Eve Torres = Maria and Kelly - although firstly I hope that they don't win and secondly who gives a crap?

Is it true, as I was told, that the Royal Rumble winner hasn't won at Wrestlemania for the last four years? Surely Sheamus has to win for the Royal Rumble to have any credibility.

I wish...

Its true.
Cena cashed in his win at No Way out which was just stupid. He still went to WM and still lost in a triple threat.
Orton lost to HHH which was worse and was possibly the worst main event in WM history. (though it did manage to get beaten by Cena/Miz)
Edge lost to Jericho though that wasnt the worst result.
Del Rio lost to Edge which killed all his momentum.

I hope Sheamus continues the pattern and then next year they can make a huuuuge deal about it being cursed but then have the winner actually win it next year ¬¬

-------------------------

Matches:
The Rock vs. John Cena = Cena (this is the toughest one to call)
Triple H vs. The Undertaker = Taker (unless egomania runs wild - sadly will probably see HBK cost HHH and then they make HHH/HBK WM29 main event :s).
CM Punk (c) vs. Chris Jericho = Punk. (Only saying Punk cos I dont see two world title changes, though I think Jericho needs the win more.)
Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Sheamus = Sheamus, (though want Bryan to retain.)
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Big Show = Big Show. (Been embarrassed so much, would love Cody to retain though.)
Randy Orton vs. Kane = Orton. (Dont care though)
Team Teddy vs. Team Johnny = Team Johnny - (Ryder probably misses the whole event cos of Eve...)
Maria Menounos & Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix & Eve Torres = Maria/Kelly.

Other Stuff

First Match: Sheamus vs Bryan
Last Match: Rock vs Cena
How much time will pass between either HHH / Taker / HBK (depending on whose out first) music hitting and the bell sounding?: 7 minutes, 33 seconds (if it was between Hell in a Cell being put up and first bell - id say 33 minutes - in fact - this match should go first so they can have the cell ready built and after the match they just copter it away or something...)
How many Pedigree's, Last Rides and Tombstones will we see?: 6
