Also its nice to see how nearly every match (cept Sting/HHH) as an NXT alumni in it which is great for NXT to brag about.

Was Reigns in NXT? I only pay casual attention to it, but I can't ever remember seeing him (this is a serious question, not a, "you're wrong, fecker, " post).

Edit: Googled it. He was for 3 weeks.

Could it possibly be that WWE are using this Battle Royal as a means of testing Hideo's connection to an American non-NXT crowd? NXT are such smart fans at times that they would cheer him for his ring work and previous reputation, therefore, identifying what he needs work on would be difficult to ascertain in that environment only. If he pops in for the Battle Royal, they get a low-commitment opportunity to watch him.

Only problem with that is how much he'll be lost in a battle royal, no one has a clue who's left in until the last 4/5 guys at which point there's usually sub 5 minutes left. Add in it being pre show and Levis Stadium might be empty still.

Better to do it in general dark matches than on the Wrestlemania pre show IMO.

That's exactly what they're doing, but demoting it to the pre show won't give a representative reaction. Plus the Mania crowd will be very smarky so he probably will get a relatively big pop. His true test will be on RAW.

Having him just appear without video packages given his status in Japan would be silly especially since NXT is part of the WWE bracket. Anybody that comes up from NXT needs to have hype / video packages to discuss their nxt career now.

I agree, im surprised Neville isnt the one going into the battle royal, but happy for Itami. If the battle royal is second (which I think it will be), there will still be a large majority of the fans in the stadium and can see him get a good pop. Will be hard to stand out as Phelan said until its down to the last four or five.

Whats the difference really? The pre-show is still shown...live.

Unless it's not on PPV I guess.

I know it was never a possibility, but I'd have loved to have seen NXT represented by putting a Zayn vs. Owens title rematch in a WrestleMania slot - even just giving them 15 minutes to open the show could've been awesome.

I'd like to be the first to congratulate Finn on his midcard comedy tag team in a few months.

Could be interesting :-

- NXT stars Adrian Neville and Finn Balor are both booked for the next several weeks of RAW and SmackDown tapings. There had been talk of NXT Champion Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn appearing on several shows as well, but since both are injured, neither will be wrestling any time soon.

I might watch this, but I don't really get how you can have a 4 hour show and still not have time to fit in all the matches.

Last year they had Hogan, Rock and Austin all come to the ring to kick things off, which was cool, but then none of them actually had anything to say, but still took about half an hour to say it. I''m not sure how kicking off the greatest wrestling show of the year with half hour of three blokes stood in the ring back slapping each other is ever the best idea.

Add to that it then took HHH a further 40 minutes or so to actually make it to the ring for his match. If I remember rightly I fell asleep before any wrestling had actually taken place. It's called "wrestlemania"...it's suppsoed to be a mania of wrestling

Being with Heyman would be horrendous for Finn. It wouldn't suit what he's got going at all.

As for the midcard comedy tag comments, come on. The guy exudes star power, something that can't be taught (but can rarely be learned). He's got a great look can wrestle as well as just about everyone, isn't a dick and, to be quite frank, is on a major pay deal. They're not going to screw this up without trying their hardest to get their money's worth out of him.

Agreed that Heyman with Finn would be terrible.

Im interesting to see what happens with some of the current guys when they get brought up and what changes they make (if any).

Also watching SD, I really like Reigns spears. Really explosive.

I have the feeling that Steen (Owens) is going to make it all the way. He'll be main event level heel (or face) eventually. The thing is, his offence looks strong all the time. Similar to Lesnar in that respect, not necessarily in style but effectiveness. Legitimately he comes off as someone you wouldn't want to brawl with. Owens is guaranteed money in my book.

@phelans shorts, if you're referring to my comment on Balor, I was only joking. I don't actually expect him to be under-utilised in that respect. Clearly, for the reasons you explained, he's got a ceiling that is almost endless, with individuality, presence, ability and craft. It would, of course, be typical of WWE to misuse this kind of talent, however, I'll maintain your cautious optimism for the time being.

The one bit to be optimistic about is that the recent NXT guys debuting (not comedy acts like Rose and Emma) have done well. Rusev, Shield, Wyatts (not Rowan), all key elements of WM (and most with similar characters to what they had in NXT).

Can Heyman really turn on Brock? Lesnar needs Heyman and now that he has signed on, I don't see Heyman turning on Brock...

 Axelmania, Miz could barely keep a straight face and cole Definitely couldn't!

As a sidenote I had a look earlier to see what time the sky box office coverage starts, it's midnight. So you pay £19.95 and miss 2 matches.

The pre show is a network exclusive mate.

Sky are a joke. They should drop the PPV cost to a tenner to at least try and offer a bit of value to the loyal fans.

It's just become a bit of a general annoyance, not really aimed at anyone, the comments are being made constantly and a lot of people genuinely believe them, for Lord knows what reason.

Babyface Brock doesn't need Heyman. Let him talk in video packages which he's great at and have him kill a load of guys whenever he's there.

Anyone would think WWE were trying to get people to sign up for the Network.

Sky would haemorrhage money if they did that. They're a business. They're trying to make money.

and this was a colossal fecking waste. Even if they've recorded the match. That could have been such a great moment.

Another interview by Sam Roberts and Katie Linendoll. This time with Daniel Bryan.

Not going to lie, RTWM this year has been appalling, but I'm looking forward to WrestleMania after watching Bray Wyatt's interview. I probably won't be happy when The Undertaker defeats him. I have predicted a Bray win but I'm less optimistic about that now. He's done a good job at building this feud on his own and that says enough about him. I don't know about you guys, but I'm more intrigued in having The Undertaker lose again, and have his last feud revolve around questions about his overall performance heading into his final WrestleMania match.

Watching Royal Rumble '97.

The Nation of Domination's entrance was cool as hell. Two white rappers, Crush, Farooq, a bunch of other random black guys and a mouthpiece manager. They did stables properly back then.

Funny looking at how muscular and slow Ahmed Johnson is. Really emphasises to me how differently kids look at wrestling. All I cared about as a kid was that Ahmed looked bigger than life and had an obvious character. As an adult looking back, not so impressed.

I suppose it gives perspective as to why a John Cena is/was the face of the company. We get older and forget that kids don't give a damn about critiquing the five moves of doom or how stale he is compared with the Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick. In a PG product he's necessary...
