Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

Because it's a guy who isn't ready, giving it to bryan really would be a waste but they've fecked themselves over with all the other talent really. I would have loved for Ambrose to win it but it wouldn't have made sense since they've established him as a high mid card guy now instead of pushing on with him when he was getting massive pops during the rivalry with Rollins and selling massive amounts of merch. He'll either Ambrose, Rollins or Bray would of been a better choice while they give reigns a year or two to slowly and naturally get better and get the crowd on his side. Has any top star ever really become massive from having Vince strap a rocket to their ass? usually it just ends up backfiring and they have to change the character to get them over.

Rollins is too good to stay as a heel for long.
Imagine if they have Rock appears with Reigns every where he goes and to cut promos for him. lol

Better than other people's matches with Orton?

Ryback's match with Bryan was great, but he's still crap most of the time.
Well it was probably Reigns best one on one match.

2005 was a strange year wasnt it?
It was meant to be Orton vs HHH in the main event for WM. Then it turned to Batista instead of Orton when Batista started getting cheered more (and Orton was bad backstage?)
And Cena wasnt even main event when he won his first title.

Wonder if they thought Orton would be a bigger star than Cena.

Pretty sure someone in here said Cena (and Roman) were the top 2 merch sellers by a distance.....well no, Cena is top dog by a distance. But the 2 changes all the time, Dean Ambrose was 2 for Nov/Dec, Romans before that, Bray before that, Bryan before that, Punk before that......and given his return, it'll probably be Bryan again now, we'll see when reports come in.

And yes he does get mixed receptions, or at least not the ultra face pops he's expected to get.

Whereas Cena was over as feck for years before getting his monster push. Batista even earned his chops for 3 or so years when he got it at the same WM.

That ending was unintentionally fecking hilarious by the way. Might as well have had someone come out and announce "ladies and gentlemen, this is the end, of Wrestling"

I mean, Reigns won, but then he didn't win, until after he won again? So Rock came out for no reason...except maybe he came out to "save" the match and that was the suspense...except everyone though the match was finished anyway? But then suddenly it was? and then everyone booed, because it turned out the end they thought happened was the same end that then did happen, and which they'd already booed the first time, and then again, for no reason? What?

How on earth did WWE think that was ever not going to come across as a massive mess? Even if it was someone the crowd were actually behind it would have come across as baffling.

I'm not sure how the crowd booing Reigns was a surprise either. I don't even follow wrestling apart from basically this thread, but I could have predicted that would happen.

Everyone knew it was happening for a year, but now it happens the knives come out.

Despite it being obvious Reigns was being groomed as their next top guy I think plenty of people thought they might hold off this year because he got injured for a few months and he's clearly a work in progress both in ring and with his promos. I have not watched much WWE for the last few months but Ambrose and Ziggler have been getting good reactions and rising in popularity in the back end of the year.

Since he's been back Reigns not been involved in anything that big and they promoted Bryan's return by having him go straight back in the Rumble.

I don't think this reaction is just from Bryan fans, I think there's a lot of people who Reigns just don't appeal to and the likes of Ambrose and Ziggler are also popular and got marginalised for Reigns last night.

I think Reigns could be good but is he more popular than Ambrose, Bryan or Ziggler? If not, the reaction last night is understandable.

I hate their use of Kane and especially Big Show which doesnt help either.

I really want Reigns to do well tbh. I did feel a little sorry for him but its almost like WWE wanted it to happen. Im telling you, if this was WCW we would be shouting sabotage lol

I bet when Kane and big shit entered the commentators tried to sell the idea that the will win and are unstoppable

Guess what they have been doing that for more than 15 years

Soo the crowd Booed Reigns because Daniel Bryan didn't win? It's entertainment... If the crowd had their way Bryan would win every time. How boring. Also abit hypocritical seeing as they wasn't booing Reigns when he returned was they. The biggest complaints from last night would be how Ambrose, Ziggler, Bryan and Wyatt were eliminated. Also how there was no suprises towards the end. Sting, Orton or the Rock coming in at number 30 would of been much better.

Just looking at past winners

Last night surely was not as bad as when Alberto del Rio won it? That cannot have been good

I was also reminded that Rey Mysterio won it. Jesus that was awful

I just watched the triple threat match and all I can say is wow. It was literally amazing, Rollins was superb I thought. In a way Cena just felt a bit out of place although he did ok too. The way they booked Brock was perfect. I can't really think of a stronger booked heel since Undertaker and Kane in the late 90s.

Brock was just booked as unstoppable. The way he just got up from the AA was amazing. He also threw Cena and Rollins around like ragdolls. Some of those German suplexes looked amazingly stiff. One of the best matches I think ive ever seen

Can't remember the last time the Rumble didn't have a predictable winner.

Is Bubba Ray coming back or was it a one off? I'm not even kidding, I'd rather see him than a 60 year old Sting or The Rock wrestle a program.

Don't think there are any plans to use him in a regular role.

Rey winning was good. But then he lost it to Orton in a match that didnt make sense as to why he put it on the line. Was it because Orton said Eddie was dead and in hell?
Anyway Orton won it but Teddy Long felt sorry for Rey so put him in a triple threat that lasted less than 10 minutes with Orton and Angle (WTF?).
Then Rey as champion lost cleanly to people like Khali and Henry and stuff. It was weird.

At the end of the video I've linked below you can see that Reigns is really cut up over the crowds reaction to his win. He tries to brush it off but looks devastated.

I feel really sorry for the guy.

Thats feckin awesome. This is the stuff they should be doing with Reigns. He talks much better, he comes of as genuine They should be airing stuff like this on Raw. It would be so much better, so much more natural.

This is going to sound insane but..
Is it possible that they do these kind of things to deliberately drive up interest for Wrestlemania? Maybe they believe any loss in revenue would be temporary and all the people complaining now won't be able to help but watch WW or perhaps they've just badly executed it. Maybe it's like some bizarre double bluff that gets everyone talking and then they'll fit Bryan or Ambrose in somehow. Or something.

I'm overthinking this.

Well, just watched it...

I refuse to believe the WWE could be this badly out of touch with their audience. Reigns should have turned on The Rock at the end - that would have been a great turn and a much needed change for Reigns.

Having said that, I really enjoyed the event. My main complaint is that a lot of the big eliminations (Bryan, Bray, Ziggler, Ambrose) were so underplayed, they should have made more if it. That title match was something else... and Bully Fricken Ray!
