The Authority tried everything to keep Cena away from the title. They brought in Brock the mercenary to take the title from him. Then sent out one of their minions to DQ Cena when he was about to win the title.
The Cena Orton number one contender stip was genius too. IF Cena managed to beat Brock he'd have been a sitting duck for a Rollins cash in after taking a Brock beating. Rollins effectively got the Authority to give him as easy a run as possible.
If you want entirely superficial storylines that's your issue. It's not even like this one has been convolute.

Ambrose harper was very good.
On the best wrestling show around, Yoshi Tatsu (now Yoshitatsu, very creative) made his New Japan debut about a month ago. He fecked up taking a Styles Clash pretty bad.
Basically he thought his neck was just a bit stiff, he tried to wrestle this weekend and just kinda broke down. It was horrific to watch. Anyway he's had a scan and he's broken two bones in his neck and came very close to death it turns out.
Just thought it deserves a mention.

Raw was solid, great opening. Concessions Kane was genius until they took it too far. Ambrose and harper had a very good match, HHHs promo was excellent. They carried on the build with rusev and bit was great to see d-bry back for the week.

Vince was being a total a dick that night. No need to come out and talk down the crowd the way he did. Heeling it up is fine, but he really missed the mark there.
But he wasn't trying to heel it up, he was pissed off at a dreadful crowd. The Liverpool crowd is always terrible, it's why they rarely tape there.
As for Sting, he was the man if you wanted someone to stand there and look cool. Not to wrestle. Sting has been below average in the ring for nigh on 20 years now.

The Raw crowd the night before was decent. The SmackDown crowd was indeed rather crap and silent (that floor area was the worst, in terms of sheer gormless 'too-busy-taping-entrances-on-my-mobile-to-chant' I have ever experienced in live shows), but just before Vince came out the chants had actually picked up quite decently during the Highlight Reel. Vince's subsequent appearance was not only poorly timed, it also resulted in ticking off the few vocal groups there were there and killed the burgeoning mood completely.
That could be, we normally don't watch things live. Sunday is the worst day for ppv, some of us still have a day job.
