Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

I know I'm in a minority but I still really like punk, I think he's opinionated and principled and although I disagree with him leaving the company I still think he's just being as honest as he can be

While this is true, he's still coming across like a twat in it, clearly taking joy in the position he's in and winding the fans up.

I think he was on the way back, to do some kind of legends thing, he was talking quite a bit not long before the crash, said big things were coming up for him in the near future.

Sadly, it was a tree

Last time they did a "BIG MYSTERY" thing on Twitter it ended up being an Undertaker statue thing.

Any reason why that guy from TNA Abyss never signed with WWF. He used to be pretty good. Liked the character too

His injury is such an epic work. smh not keeping in character at comic con though.

At least Punk is staying in character while his "hiatus" work is in full flow.

I like the guy, but I think it may have been because his character looked very similar to Mankind, and was booked very similar to Kane, and without that look/gimmick he was just another big guy. Plus I seem to recall his better matches being ones that were very gimmicky, so he could get by with big thumbtack/barbed-wire spots, which obviously wouldn't be around for him in the WWE (at least not as much as they were in TNA).

Look who showed up at WWE's table at Comic Con.

OMG! Hulk Hogan!

He was very good as the lawyer too, to be fair, one of the few interesting things on Impact at the time.

Wow.

Are people actually taking what Zen said seriously?

Just out of interest, who thinks the Montreal screwjob was a work?

That's cool. Would hate to see him rock up and get a big fat "meh" from the crowd.

I don't think they'd debut him anywhere other than a wrestling stronghold. They'd only debut him somehwre he'd get a huge pop.

Saying that they fecked up the proper Evolution reunion.

The montreal screwjob essentially won WWE the war.....so um yeah, very likely a work. Got them on the inside on the rivals, and created a genius character in Evil Vince, who allowed Austin to propel it all to greatness. These things don't happen by fluke.

Not sure if serious

Bret had already signed for WCW so can't see it. Why would he work a program that would ruin the company he was about to join? The screwjob was Vinces way of getting back at Bret for signing with his rivals.

Vince just played on the heat it caused.

It's rubbish mate, it was never a work.

Vince was very worried about his champion taking the belt to wcw, bischoff had form here by convincing Alundra Blaze to drop the wwf woman's championship belt into a trash can live on Nitro. It was Brets last match after signing for wcw and he had a creative control clause in his contact and refused to drop the title in Canada where he was and still is considered a hero.

Vince tried his hardest to negotiate with bret and got to the point where bret agreed to vacate the title and say goodbye the next night on raw, but vince didn't trust him, throughout the Monday night wars he had already been double crossed by Lex Luger, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash plus Alundra Blaze that I've already mentioned above.

Vince took up Shawnee Michaels idea of a fake finish and bret therefore losing the belt, you can tell by the commentators reaction that it was genuine, you can also see the aftermath on Brets 'wrestling with shadows' video how bret reacted afterwards, including spitting at vince, fingering the initials WCW to the crowd (vince at the time would NEVER allow this) and landing a punch on vince backstage.

Also, regardless of what other wrestlers say, bret, vince, Shawn, earl Hebner and HHH (this was directly before the original DX started) have ALWAYS maintained that it wasn't a work, to put it onto perspective it took us less than a year to find put that CM Punks 2011 raw promo was a work, so for all the participants to still deny it being a work 17 years later it just isn't possible to me that it was a work. No chance

Agree with everything here.

One point though, CM Punk's promo, I don't get why so many thought it was shoot, or came up with all those "half shoot" bollocks theories. It was clearly a work the whole time. It would have been stopped, and quickly, were it not.

I think we were all fairly sure it was a work, but we had been drip fed warm shite by the wwe for a couple of years before that and the way it unfolded it just had an almost realistic feel to it, cutting the mic off was a good touch too, but we all knew it was a work just a week later when punk was 'suspended' and cena 'convinced' vince to let him wrestle. What I meant was though is that it was completely confirmed less then a year later when punks DVD was released

Ahh, right, I get you now. I used to post a little on a wrestling forum that time though, and it was baffling how many of them truly believed their god Punk was after fecking Vince over.
