Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

The hardcore 24/7 rule produced a lot of fun moments. This should be something for jobbers and lesser seen wrestlers to show some character.

A TV title would have been a better way to go if they wanted a low card title. 24/7 stipulations just make the title a bit of a joke before too long.

Think it would have been better if one of the women ran down to the ring and took the belt whilst everyone was scrapping over it. I fully expect to see R-truth lose the belt to Carmella or something.

My issue is with the name

"I'm the 24/7 champ and there's nuttin' y'all can do about it!"

Ergh. Another Best in the World lame gimmick.

It's supposed to be a joke though. There's room for comedy in wrestling.

The title shouldn't be the joke though, which it will be, if it already isn't.

It'll be relegated to Main Event and forgotten about in next to no time.

Hardcore title was a joke during a really successful period. and lead to some fantastic moments especially with Crash. (Crash TV, heh).

24/7 just sounds weird. And the belt looks ugly, and not even ugly on purpose.

That hardcore time-limit title was the one of the best concepts. I don't know if it works today, they will need to introduce the same gimmick nature of it (like having the champion ambushed in arbitrary places like a grocery store ), but at the same time they can't recycle champs all the time because it loses value.

I'm glad to see it back to be honest. Gives jobbers more time and room to try stuff and adds some depth to an otherwise bland show.

Jesus Christ. That’s sickening, that person and his accomplice is probably still out there just living his life and the lady who helped him too. Just makes my blood my boil.

I haven’t been up to date with wrestling for a long while, so never even heard rumblings of the rumors before. The whole thing sounds horrible from start to finish. Trying to leave her there alone again after that ordeal, all the way up to just telling her to be quiet. Can’t imagine the toll that would take on you emotionally, among everything else.

So the tweet implies it was thrown out (but it was part of something bigger).
Has Maria or anybody else said anything on it?

You know its fcked up when your first thoughts are 'yep, that happened'

This 24/7 belt is worth nothing if we don't get comedy champions. I want Drake Younger winning it on NXT. Maybe one of the commentators. Hell, go all DDT and have a ladder fall on someone to be crowned champion.

I really thought it would be the Hardcore Title returning, especially with Mick Foley of all people announcing it. But I was thinking in the back of my mind, why? They don't allow chair shots to the head any more, all of the Hardcore matches would be pretty rubbish. I expect this title to get really old, really quickly. Nobody will care about it.

I thought it was going to be a belt that is available to defend across all shows - as a way of like getting a named star down for a great match in NXT or 205 Live or NXT UK... or similarly getting someone relatively unknown in a somewhat important match on the main roster.

I’ve never heard any rumours about this but I’m fecking sickened reading that!

Network cancelled.

WWE aside Maria Kaneliss and some of the traveling party were informed what had happened to her and decided it would be ok to leave her on her own as they caught flights out due to her ticket issues. Who in their right mind would do such a thing. Just mental.

I still can’t get over the idea that it was clearly a planned action by some people in the US military to isolate and rape her and probably more than the two people she mentions were probably aware and knew what was happening.

I can’t decide if it’s worse because a woman stood guard whilst Ashley was raped or not.

The whole thing is disgusting and I’m shocked that there isn’t more being made of it, I’d have thought twitter would be going mad!

I do think it’s worse that a woman stood guard, I do wonder if she herself had worried what would happen to her if she didn’t comply? Either way that’s irrelevant.

The fact that the crew left her there sickens me.

2006 is the same year Melina Perez was bullied into tears in the hotel lobby by the Undertaker and JBL because they had taken her to "wrestlers court." WWE was like a prison back then. Mike Bucci did a shoot inteview and it sounded like absolute hell being in that locker room. Justin Roberts book is even worse. Someone stole his passport while on a tour of the UK and couldnt leave the country. Bullies and scumbags.

"it's part of the culture "

Yeah, it's also 2019. Glad most of the shit is called out

Yep, Undertaker is one of the biggest cnuts in wrestling and it's always overlooked. Him and "Wrestler's Court" was just an excuse for him to bully people.

Look at Chris Kanyon. Kanyon being gay was something of an open secret backstage and JBL (of course, another cnut) and Taker allegedly took joy in bullying Kanyon over it. Kanyon pitched an idea to be WWE's first openly gay wrestler, he wanted the character to be "normal" not flamboyant and over the top. The idea was shot down.

A while after that there was a segment with Kanyon coming out of a giant gift box in the ring dressed as Boy George singing "Do you really want to hurt me?" to Undertaker. Taker proceeds to beat the shit out of him and hits him with one of the worst chair shots to the head you will ever see...

He's a grade A prick.

Heymen isn’t acting there, look at his face at the end.

Almost all the legends of the sport are scumbags in one way or another. Flair, Austin, Rhodes, Hogan, Michaels are a bunch of racist wife-beaters.

Jimmy Snuka killed a woman and is still in their hall of fame.

He was instructed to "sing like a f*g" by one of the agents. What's heartbreaking with Kanyon is he was painted as an attention seeking joke by WWE when he went on Howard Stern and the like to tell everyone how bad this company is. The joke wasnt so funny when he killed himself. Stuff like that should have been a wakeup call, but WWE always gets away with it. If they survived the Benoit situation, the steroid trail and dropping Owen Hart from the ceiling and then deviding the Hart Family by offering them jobs, they'll get away with anything.

fecking hell some of this stuff is unbelievable.

I'd be very upset if my favourite wrestlers (Jericho, Sting) were find to be cnuts like that.

I can only assume her hanging herself was in direct relation to this incident. Barring the discussion of any foul play that might have been afoot due to the lawsuit. Horrible for her, and really feel for her daughter.

She claimed to suffer depression as a result of a concussion she got working for WWE. It was part of her testimony for that lawsuit where she said she was out for a few minutes and was told to shake it off.

A lot of the women from around that time have been quick to try and help her daughter out, setting up funds for her education etc. And of course Matt Hardy's wife decided to be an arsehole again.

Ah cool. Glad her daughter was able to get some support. Thanks for the info :) haven’t a lot of ex-wrestlers come out at different times with stories of depression or lingering issues that were never addressed when they were employed?

Well then that's me putting The Undertaker under the same bracket as Giggs, love the athlete but hate the human being. What a thundercnut.

Double or Nothing is the standard £14.95 on ITV box office...

I thought AEW was meant to be more affordable/accessible or something like that?
