Television Tho Prop Grops Throps

I think Cena will win, and it may be Rock helping him after outside intereference and Rock/Cena bury the hatchet type thing.

Unless they are planning on Cena/Rock, which then I could see Rock laying out Cena. Its a shame they dont have MITB at this years WM otherwise that would have been perfect for somebody to come in and cash in after Rock has layeth the smacketh down.

I remember a bit of my first experience of wwe.

It was a conversation between me and my cousin, he some details about a wrestling match where people using chairs and all in fighting. (I think it was from a vhs, which his uncle bought while he was working in Dubai at that time. Never got to watch it though...), This was in early 1990's.

He mentioned some wrestlers names, and the only ones I remember are Hitman, and The Undertaker.

I reckon all that's going to happen will be Cena OVERCOMES THE ODDS to defeat Miz (and Alex Riley, and possibly Michael Cole too). Rock comes down to the ring, and stands face to face with Cena...and then shakes his hand, in a passing the torch moment that makes the millions (and the millions) of fans over the age of 15 weep in unison.

I hope not. That would be sickening.

I didn't realise the Big Boss Man, Mr. Perfect, Crash Holly and Hawk were dead.

And it's amazing how many die as a result of taking drugs.

Should be good because WWE gave him a proper build up. They didnt do that for Bryan Danielson or Tyler Black, what it means is that he'll jump right in at a decent level and not be a jobber for months before a push. But the one I really want to see is Tyler Black... I wonder if they'll allow him to continue using the F5

Tylers not on the main roster so they can still do a build up package for him.

Thing Sin cara has going for him is he is mexican which is like WWE's second biggest market and probably gives them their best TV ratings so pushing people from there is a good idea (rey, del rio and now sin cara).
Wish they would use Chavo more though.

Well from just watching RAW it's fair to say Rock is out of condition when it comes to ringskills. Totally expected, but if he's going to participate in proper wrestling then he should at least shake off the rust.

Too true, his punches looked strange and he fecked up his kip-up.

Still that was a great ending to the show.

Even his elbow was stiff. He used to have a quick snap as he dropped to the floor but he just kinda fell into it this time. That flip was ridiculous too, once you know how it's probably not that difficult after all. Ah well I'm none to talk I can't do it  I'll learn though :p what's it actually called?

Yes but they arent going to.

WWE, or should I say Vince McMahon, believes that only certain companies and fans matter. Indy fans dont matter to him. What someone does in the indies doesnt matter to him. Largely what they did in WCW or ECW doesnt matter to him.

Bryan Danielson was widely considered the best in ring performer in the world when WWE signed him. He had to spend a year going from WWE developmental FCW into NXT before he was given something to do on the main roster. And even now he's building himself up to be a main eventer.

With Mistico's popularity in Mexico and what he's done in CMLL clearly Vince has decided that Mistico is one of the few who will not start at the bottom. He'll go into the midcard and perhaps all things going well he'll be main event in a year or so.

I'm pretty sure "Tyler Black" wont get the same treatment and his road will be similar to CM Punk and Daniel Bryan before him.

Since the Rock came back, I am starting to like Cena. I think he was brought back to help Cena out. Now reports about Cena's good works with kids are coming out, especially the MAW stuff.

Boss wants to hit this.

I'm rooting for Cena vs the Rock, I don't know why.

So am I. Simply because it makes far more sense for the guy who, y'know, actually works for the company full time to come out on top.

As far as I can see, there's two arguments that people have against Cena. 1) He can't wrestle/only has 5 moves and 2) He's forced down the viewers throat.

Well, his matches against Umaga, Shawn Michaels, Jericho and JBL were all great matches, and he even managed to work with Khali and Lashley to their best matches in the WWE. His "five moves of doom" make sense because it builds the crowd up. Like with Chris Benoit, you knew that when he hit his German Suplex combo that he was going for the diving headbutt, or Shawn Michaels had the series of moves that led to the Elbow Drop followed by the Sweet Chin Music.

As for being "forced down the viewers throat," he's the most marketable man in the business right now. He's the first guy since The Rock to really cross over into other markets, with his films (which weren't great, but they were fine in terms of being daft action movies), and his album (which really really wasn't great). I was too young to watch Hulk Hogan in his heyday (only got into wrestling around '98), but I imagine he was in the main event just as much as Cena. Going back further, Bruno Sammartino held the title for years!

That's not to say I don't like Rock, far from it. He was my favourite WWF wrestler back in the Attitude Era (not my overall favourite, because that was Goldberg), and it's a nice bit of nostalgia to see him back in the ring hitting his signature moves and bringing out all the catchphrases, but that's really all it should be.

Wait, wasn't there some other guy involved in the match at 'Mania? The Muzz? Holds some sort of belt, I think.

Edit: Bloody hell, my longest post on Redcafe ends up being about wrestling. Typical.

Well honestly I think the whole thing is probably a vehicle for The Miz. Cena doesn't need to go over because he's already marketable. He's never going to be able to tap into the Attitude Era fan market until he turns heel because they'll always just believe he's doing the same old shit. They're not going to put The Rock over since he's not full time. The Miz is the one with talent but still issues with credibility.

Edge vs. Alberto Del Rio

The Miz vs. John Cena

Triple H vs. The Undertaker

Jerry Lawler vs. Michael Cole

Randy Orton vs. CM Punk

Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

I'm going to pretend on the one with Snooki doesn't exist.

I'm watching Mania for two things:

1) To see Undertaker stretch his undefeated streak.

2) To see The Rock kick John Cena's ass.

If those two happen, I'll be a very happy gal :D

remember this?

 That's beautiful! It's funny when Money tries to push him and he doens't move, only in wrestling could a professional boxer hit someone in the face without gloves and not kill them!

Look how fast they leg it!

Great moment, as good as Austin V Tyson

It does go to show exactly how big wrestlers are though, Mayweather isn't exactly a small man and he looks like a child next to the big show.

My uncle whose about 6 ft tall and quite muscular said when he met them even Cena made him feel tiny. Also said the great Khaly is ridiculously big in person.

Definitely and in fairness if anyone was going to take a shot from Floyd it'd be a big bastard like the Big Show because it'd take some force to knock that fella down.

Viscera is scarily big. I went to see WWE RAW, and he came down to the ring with a load of other people, and it looked like they were orbiting him.

Floyd was, imo, one of the best celebrities they've had involved with the WWE, because he actually developed a character for himself, and he did more in the ring than most of them.

His actual fight was awful though, he got battered all over the ring and tried to run away for about 20 minutes, then twatted Big Show in the head with a chair and that was the end of that.
