Vince is a stubborn old git. Remember back ‘94 or ‘95 when he tried to make Diesel the next Hogan? He overlooked awesome wrestlers like Brett Hart, Mr Perfect and even the British Bulldog in his pursuit to get Diesel over.

Lesnar Vs Reigns needs to go on mid card. Otherwise It will be the first time that a face gets booed out of the building in a Wrestlemania main event. The crowd will be rabid.

I would argue Reigns has been getting booed out the building at Mania's since the first Lesnar match

Don't think you can say Bret was overlooked..

Nash was the right guy at the time, other than Shawn. Had the charisma and personality to carry it off. Sure, not the best in the ring but carryable with the right guy in there.

Bret wasnt overlooked. He was the No1 guy for most of the mid 90s. He just wasnt the 'hogan type' guy.

Perfect was too injured and banged up in the mid 90s. He would have had a run as a top of the guy heel if he wasn't though.

Bulldog, eh. He wasn't a top guy.

Having sat through a load of 90s Raw on the network, Bulldog was never going to be a top guy. Couldn't talk to save his life.

Brett didn’t become “the guy” until after the Nash/Diesel experiment failed.

Brett was over with the fans massively but Vince was hell bent on pushing Nash.

My point was that Vince can be very narrow sighted, which has again been highlighted with the RR push that fans can’t get behind.

The Rollins cash in stopped that in their first match.
Granted he was massively booed against Triple H at WM 32.
Last year against the undertaker he was playing the heel really so the booing wasn’t a problem.

This year I think it will go to a whole other level. Fans are sick of his push and the atmosphere will be toxic when he wins and that is the way the PPV ends.

When you look at some of the former world champions, it’s a joke that the bulldog never had a World championship reign, exactly the same as Roddy Piper.

Crowd reactions to Roman have been far more mixed of late. They're also, by and large, sick to death of Lesnar as champion. Rollins wrestled more on one RAW in that match before Elimination Chamber than Lesnar has between WM33 and Sunday.

I'm really not predicting the hostile reaction you are.

I mean, I can't disagree that he shouldn't have had a run as world champ, but he absolutely was never going to be the face of the company or the top heel for anything more than a brief stint.

I probably should have worded my post better mate. I don’t think that Davey boy Smith would ever have been the face of the company, but I do think that he should have been given a main event push with at least one title run.

I don't disagree with you there. I think there's perhaps an argument that he did have a sort of push with the European title but that really was just to get Shawn more over at the end of the day.

Bret was the guy before, and after, the whole Diesel shitshow. It was Vince's obsession with Luger and Hogan being Hogan that delayed his crowning.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Narcissist :D

There will be one more surprise than that but a good prediction all round.

That's simply not true IMO. You simply can't say the face of the new generation was overlooked.

Completely agree Vince will push a guy far to much and leave a sour taste in your mouth. However it does actually work with reigns, and he is still one of the bigger merch sellers despite crowd reactions.

Scott Hall never won a world title.

Just the case with some wrestlers some time.

Anywhere offer Mania accumulation bets?

Skybet used to (won over £100 two years ago) but they don't allow accumulation any more

Alright lads bit of shameless plugging on my behalf here as I'll get some credit if anyone watches a PPV as a result of this but if you follow the below from my tweet you can basically take your pick of one of this weekends upcoming shows with the $15 credit (Evolve/WWN/Janela's Spring Break), and if a few sign up from the invite code you get you'll probably be able to afford ROH Supercard of Honor which is looking brilliant too.

Out in town tomorrow night, to takeover when I'm smashed back home.

WM and a dirty mixed kebab. It's tradition!

Christ, I'd have given him a 80 grand royalty cheque just for Hillybilly Jim to end that speech before the United match starts tomorrow.

Terry Funk got under 5 minutes to give a Hall of Fame speech. Life just isnt fair.
