This Is England '86 (4 part series)

Mockney's right. I thought it was made very clear he'd be going to see either Lol or Milky when we heard that line. Aside from him showing up an episode late for my liking (and a little pointlessly in a terrible state), I think Combo's character was handled perfectly.

Meadows intends to do another one for Italia 90...So anything unresolved will most likely be picked up by that, which would also most likely tie nicely in with Combo's release.

Has the Italia 90 follow up been confirmed Mockers? Has Meadows said that or is that just on the rumour mill?!

I wondered if he'd do a follow up, as I'm not sure whether it's been commercially successful per se?! I know a few people gave up on the series after the first few episodes (albeit now regrettably) and have had to catch it online etc!

Saying that, I was surprised at what the film grossed in all as I expected it to be higher!

For those who like Shane Meadows work, I strongly urge people to watch Dead Man's Shoes! It's definitely not glamorous, but has the grittiness of This is England '86!

For me the series was a refreshing change to the dross on TV at the moment, although refreshing is a bit out of context given the content of the programme.

'You ya cnut!' Dead mans shoes is brilliant. The first two episodes were weak but it got better, the hammer scene was very very well done

Absolutely fantastic film. I liked it better than This is England.

I saw Once Upon A Time In The Midlands just a few weeks ago and it wasnt that great - apparently Meadows isnt that proud of it himself!

It has got an all star British cast though, every 5 mins someone you know pops up - I think that is actually the reason that Meadows doesnt like it because he prefer to work with unknowns
