It's annoying how short-term and fickle everybody in football is... suddenly Bayern Munich are this massive lure, putting a club like ours in their shadow?

It's bollocks, we've won 5 of the last 7 Premier Legues, and it's only a couiple of years ago we were playing our 3rd Champions League Final in 4 years! No disrespect to Bayern, who are one of Europes great clubs, but they are not a bigger club than United.

I guess we don't know how players see it. I agree that Bayern aren't a bigger club than us, but they are currently better than us. Alot of players want to play for the team who is currently 'the best'. However, what can be seen as positive is that Barca are considered one of the elite teams, yet he is still wishing to leave, which I do believe is purely for playing-time reasons.

Just gotta be United, with the other 2 speculatively interested clubs in similar positions to Barca in terms of having very well stocked midfields.

Bayern have probably the best squad in Europe... Just like Barca in the last few years.

In this case that is exactly why it makes no sense for Thiago to go to Bayern.

I think United present an opportunity for him which is unique at this moment in time, and pretty rare at any time. One of the top couple of clubs in the world, going through a succesful spell, but with a massive gaping hole to be filled in his position. He'll get masses of playng time, money, silverware and international exposure. He'd be mad not to join.

Let's hope he's not mad.

From a footballing perspective, no, for trophies and success, yes.

Let's not forget that their new manager is his old one, where as our new manager spent 11 years managing Everton.

They are all mad, it's a mad world. I lost count of how many of our top priority going elsewhere over the years.

If Bayern get Thiago, I have no doubt he will play a lot of games there. He is certainly good enough. It's not a given that Pep will stick to the same system Bayern have been playing.

Plus Pep loves midfielders. He can never get enough. He's the anti Fergie.

I remember reading a article a while back, and recollect Moyes also being a big fan of midfielders.

Jesus christ how long must that GIF take to make?

Its simply brilliant

This thread is an emotional rollercoaster. I don't think I've ever been as big a muppet over a player before in my life.

No disrespect to United, but Bayern is as a big club as us and they currently have a better team than us. From my previous comments here it is clear how much I love to sign him and how much I rate him, but if Guardiola guarantees him a lot of games then I would understand if he chose Bayern.

Yep, Even if we were in for Bale I don't think we would be going quite as mental.

The fact it is our weakest area, a player of exactly what we need, and 1 of the most gifted youngsters in the world just gets the muppets going!. Hopefully this time though we are the bride.

he's the perfect fit for us

It sounds like we've waited for this player for a year or two

I just hope we don't let him slip away......I'd be prepared to give him 150k plus

if we got him on a long contract you just know he'd have an excellent resale value as well

I think he will sign for us when he returns from his holidays on the 1st of July

And the price is fantastic as well.
Jeston has been thread banned for posting Gifs.
What? Really?
I thought it was alright to post original gifs.

No club is bigger than United, but it's fairly obvious Bayern would currently be more tempting a move than United right now. They play better football, have a more proven manager, see less rain, and won everything last season.
I still can't get used to this. :(

That would be simply majestic start of a transfer window.

Who knows, maybe Moyes will be one who shall deliver some exclusive news on his very first press conference.

I'm still quietly confident on this. I have a feeling once Moyes is formally unveiled on Monday things will really start moving. I'm still holding out hope for the presser to be along the lines that Solius described with rollerskates and confetti galore.

People who mention we failed to sign Sneijder and Hazard are ignoring RVP and Kagawa signings last summer. You win some you lose some. We'll sign someone else if we fail to sign him, and personally I think he will join United.

Without really knowing what has happened I suggest you keep to thread subject. Only Mockney can call us Nazis.

:( I want to be one of the cool kids.

On topic, I think the relative quietness of this is a good thing.

Nazis

I'm sure I saw someone say in this thread that it's only generic memes or reaction gifs that are banned, and that poster-made stuff is fine. Which sounds sensible to me.

Though I agree the page of green smilies a good one will get adds nothing to the conversation.

The solution is clearly banning smilies.

Game time at Bayern will be extremely limited as it was at Barcelona. According to German sources, Pep is trying to convert Ribéry into his new #10 behind the striker (Mandzukic, Lewandowski (?)) with Götze and Müller on the wings. Schweinsteiger and Martinez will most likely be his two defensive midfielders and there is Brazilian starter Luis Gustavo and Toni Kroos (coming back from injury) in line to cover and come in - pretty hard for Thiago to nail down a place in the starting eleven with Arjen Robben also looking to be picked from the start.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I thought there must be good news when I saw Mockney posting as he's not been one of the muppets. But no, just more disappointment.

Also where's this gif?? Bring me in the convo to see.

According to my understanding GIFs, unless football related are not allowed in football forums.
