No credible confirmation of this latest rumour so per usual, back away from the ledge for the moment

It could be a case of Rooney (I hope, of course) and there is a precedent for this in that he & his father did similar back in 2011 with his first team renewal. There was speculation at that time with the incoming Cesc that he wanted to move on for better minutes and his father even suggested the capital club wasn't off the table - only to renew and pledge that he never had any intentions of going anywhere.

Could be similar now but no one knows although I'd weigh in that it feels different this time around. I imagine the club & Rosell are not happy with how there's a sense of déjà vu that might explain the publicized position of not wanting to improve his contract

The question is, what do we do if we don't sign him?

Attempt another season with a decent, but not quite quality, midfield?

OT but really surprised United didn't enter into the sweepstakes for Isco. He was the perfect option as he wasn't playing at one of the big two and is a professed Barcelona fan so no reason to stay in Spain since they weren't likely to sign him.

For some reason we just don't sign quality outfield Spanish players FC Barca. Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Isco... don't think we went in for any of them and they were all affordable. Thiago will join that list.

"DeadlineDayLive"

What is this shit?

Do people just do this to get followers? Or is there a way of making money from twitter that I'm missing?

I may be a cynic but I see no genuine reason why anyone would go to such an effort for no personal gain/profit.

We have clearly been in for Thiago though. So it wasn't for trying, and if Thiago doesn't sign then it will be because of him and not us.

Thiago's on vacation and he doesn't give a crap as twitter producing another cheap, weekend stories.

Give a rest to Monday. Give time to make things happen, naturally.

There's absolutely nothing on Sky Sports and it won't be for now, because some deals are done away from the media spotlight and some require time for other things like arrival of the new boss and stuff like that.

Any negative comments that come out, no matter how reputable the source is are believed and taken as gospel. Any positive ones that come out (and there have been loads) are taken as meh after the initial 'cocks out' posts. The fact is, no fecker but Thiago knows what he is going to do. Even if Barca have offered him a double your salary contract, how in holy feck would people know he is close to signing it? In simple terms, they don't! Lets wait and see what happens next week, or when the lad gets back from his hols.

My mate who doesn't like football and doesn't know who Thiago is said we're not getting him so I'm now officially devastated

Does he have a dog? I will be more worried if he does.

I don't think he's using us at all. I reckon we're genuinely in for him and that he'll be announced as a United player once he returns from his holidays

On one hand, we've got a young, talented player, who's just come of the back of a long season, including an international tournament. He's facing he most difficult and important decision of his career, possibly his life. He's currently on holiday trying to relax, before sorting out his future and even when he comes home, would be wise to take his time over said decision.

On the other hand, we've got this snot nosed kid, who thinks he can feck us about? Thinks he's so good that he can have Manchester United and Barcelona fight over him, like two lovestruck girls. He fecks off on holiday, whilst everyone else panics over what his decision will be. Wants more games and a chance at being one of most highly regarded and highest paid midfielders in the world, yet doesn't immediately accept the contract, offering him those things?

cnut or wise young man? - You decide.

Yeah, I'm going with cnut, too. Unless he signs for us, then I was right all along and he was always gonna sign for us, and I've followed his career very closely since he was a teenager and think he's the most prodigious young talent since Messi.
