Is he better than Wilshere?
In my opinion, yes he is, although wilshere has been severely hampered by injuries. Thiago hasn't been first choice at Barca but he has managed over 100 appearances, by the age of 22, with Xavi, iniesta, fabregas and buquets all ahead of him which is very impressive IMO. He's probably a better passer, much better at controlling the game and dictating tempo, and a much better dribbler. Wilshere is more aggressive though and probably better defensively, but thiago has pretty good tackling as well.
Potential wise, I think thiago has it in him to be a better midfielder then wilshere, probably the best in the world in his position.

There were no twitter updates every 5 minutes in those days though. You read about the rumour in the paper at work, then swapped papers with your mate and read a slightly different take on the same rumour.

Yeah, of course. That's the main difference with all transfer and transfer rumours these days. But as for the whole will-he-won't-he saga, it was pretty big.

Not too many Nepalis who can say that :smirk:

They're saying over on RepublikOfMancunia that Crerand reckons it's 100% sealed. I like Crerand, but he's a bit of an arse sometimes, and he often seems oblivious to what is going on, so I dunno if his word is just a guess, or if he really knows.

I love Crerand, but he doesn't have a clue  Remember his denial of Ferguson retiring?

I think Paddy just read all the rumours and concluded that it must be a done deal as there's no smoke without a fire etc.

Also, I managed to type his name on the fourth attempt; on the first three attempts I kept typing Oaddy.

So basically, very few have any valid arguments as to who is better of Thiago and Wilshere? I'm only asking because I think Wilshere is a terrific player, and if Thiago is close to his level or above, then he will be a cracking player for us. Admittedly, I haven't watched much of Thiago; hence why I'm asking.

Yes, having watched plenty of La Liga (though not as much last season) I think that he's better than Wilshere in almost everything. Wilshere is more powerful and could be better defensively but going forward Alcantara is better cause he is a much better dribbler and in those runs he compensate his lack of strength (compared to Wilshere). Thiago is definitely better at passing, first touch, directing a game, long passes, scoring goals and shootings. Thiago is tactically better too.

Probably unfair to Wilshere cause his injuries have slowed down his development but right now Thiago is just better. Potential wise - as I said many times before - Thiago is much better and could/will become the best midfielder in the world.

My praise has nothing to do with us being linked with him, I have been praising him for three years and since I came to Caf.

Did you not send a PM to cider asking him if he really was WUMMING? I feel that's how you earned that title. But, I am just speculating, and that is allowed on the transfer forum :-)

. I did - A mate of mine about an hour before pm'd me on another site and asked if I thought it was genuine.

Then he asked me to ask him to make sure. Injustice on the caf!:lol:

This is disappointing now, I'm stepping back from the muppetry.

 Yes, he'll find lots of playing time in the middle with Khedira, Ozil, Modric, Alonso, Casemiro, and Callejon...

If playing time ahead of the World Cup is his priority, Madrid just isn't a viable option for Thiago. Xabi Alonso, Khedira, Modric, Casemiro, Ozil, Kaka, Isco are all there in his potential positions. That's not even taking into account the kind of reaction there'd be to him swapping Barca for Real.

43 followers get that shit out of this thread.

Can't see it happening. The way the criticism of the Barca board has been increasing, I think if Thiago ended up in Madrid then Mr Rosell would be out of a job.

If anything this could be good news, barca will be practically driving him to Manchester if they know Madrid are in the hunt!

@ellarguero on the other hand certainly have a large following.

Yep, seen that in the twatter thread.

Anyway don't think that he'll go to Madrid even if they want to get him. Leaving Barca is something, but leaving Barca for Real Madrid is something else. That beheaded pig probably has his body saved somewhere, and cut easily hit Thiago if he returns to Camp Nou as a Madrid player.
