As a rule of thumb, take tweets with an excessive use of hash-tags and from a user with little followers with a massive pinch of salt. They're more likely looking for followers.

I joined Twitter a month or two ago, just for sport & news feeds, aswell as for certain characters that make me laugh etc, i dont think i've actually posted anything on there, but i've about 6 would-be followers already ffs - wtf? I didnt "approve" their request tho & have very little interest in gettin involved in the site.

Some latchers on that shite eh? Folk who just want a name to add to their list of followers without actually contributing anything meaningful whatsoever to any discussion. Its not for me thats for sure!

Much prefer the good aul Caf & all the good souls (mostly) we have here...

What a shit phrasing. I had a heart attack reading "Thiago has rejected.."

I suppose thats the most important aspect in all of this tbh man. He's a Barca player first & foremost & it'll be him rejectin them if he leaves, with him havin the option of leavin if a club matches the release-clause & Barca can do feck all about it!

So rejectin them is the first step & agreeing to join another club is the next step - please God may it be us :nervous:

He's from Nepal is he not man...?

I live in the "home of the free, land of the brave." My friends are throwing a party and I have a bottle of bourbon I need to finish! I hate drinking a lot without a cause.

Last time around we had a summer intern who supported United join us. We drank for Kagawa.

4th of July?

Hang on... On 4th I'm going to the mysterious audio visual experience type thingy that Massive Attack are doing as part of the Manchester International Festival.
I've not been able to make head nor tale of what the evening will involve, but I'm starting to suspect it may be a certain Spanish midfielder.. possibly dancing on rollerskates to Unfinished Sympathy?

Oh right, but u have Nepal heritage tho dont ya man? Almost positive u mentioned that??

Thats the difference between the Irish & the rest of the world - we dont need an excuse for a few bevvies :D

Hope u have good reason to celebrate with possibly our new signings then big lad - "Sláinte" (Irish for Health, but used as cheers) :D

So celebrating Independence Day isn't cause enough in itself? Careful, you'll find yourself hiding in a transit hall in a Moscow airport with that sort of talk...

So basically, very few have any valid arguments as to who is better of Thiago and Wilshere? I'm only asking because I think Wilshere is a terrific player, and if Thiago is close to his level or above, then he will be a cracking player for us. Admittedly, I haven't watched much of Thiago; hence why I'm asking.

Too early to comment on who's the better player. Wilshere hasn't been fit enough for a long enough duration, Thiago hasn't had enough opportunities. It's easy to say that Thiago's better because he's Spanish, but Wilshere, if he manages to learn how to stay fit, can grow into as good a midfielder as any in the world. Who knows, we might have both in the future

In the Marca article posted previously, this bit stuck out:

The fact that he still has not signed for the English club is not because he is considering staying at Barcelona, but down to possible interest from Bayern Munich.

:nervous:

Yes I am from Nepal. I'll never be American enough to celebrate American Independence 4th of July.

Is he better than Wilshere?

To me, Thiago is a much more skilled footballer than Wilshere. Wilshere has the upper hand when it comes to work rate and tenacity.

I think Thiago is a slightly better player overall, and with a much higher potential. He was the standout player in the U21 tournament, and won player of the tournament, quite rightly. Hypothetically, if Wilshere replaced Thiago in the Spain squad, I don't think Wilshere would have been accoladed as the best player in the tournament. I don't think he possesses the same cutting edge that Thiago does.

One problem with Thiago is he switches off for moments. It usually happens against canon fodders so it's somewhat understandable.

They're so close that it really comes down to a matter of opinion. I'm a Wilshere fan, so I would always give him the slight edge, although I think Thiago's proven significantly more.

As soon as he joins us, of course, it'll be Thiago hands down.

walsh - How can they say it's not down to this and that in a factual way and then talk about possible interest from Munich....I wouldn't pay much attention to that lot. It seems to me that's talking out their arse.

I wouldn't play down Wilshere too quick. He's had a few more injuries but when he is fit, is consistently Arsenals key player and has had some very impressive games in the past, really standing out against both Barca and Brazil which is no small feat, not to mention Thiago has at both club and u21 level been playing in the standout teams of their competition, although the fact that he's stood out is definitely a plus point. Both are clearly two of the best prospects around, bit hard to say who's better atm though imo.

So did he eat an MUFC-shaped lobster today then? #ITK

Thiago is a better player in the fact he can do all the things Wilshere can do, but is one of the most gifted tricksters around!

Immerse yourself in his quality man (in case u havent already):
