Thiago Alcantara | Pool bound

Thiego is really good, but he's not a goat.
And I think most people understand that there's a difference when a player has dedicated so many years to a club while proving themselves, they are rewarded more than a player just joining.

If he had joined at 24 and was now negotiating his new contract to stay then maybe. As it stands we don't neeed to buy him, and pool won't pay much more than 2-250k either. He doesn't have as much leverage to negotiate.
He might see it differently. CL winner. Won about 8 league titles in a row (stand to be corrected).

Löw's lineups always make me wonder whether Germany's squad really is that shit. But starting Draxler is just Löw being Löw again.

Admire the optimism but if they had any issues funding this deal at all we would have already heard about it from one of their top sources

The thing is both him and Bayern have openly acknowledged he's leaving and the fee in this era is a steal for a player of his calibre, so I don't see why it's not done yet, I think there are some factors at play, one of which may be they can only bring him in if they sell wijnaldum.

These newbies these days get likes for tying. I remember the golden days were it was required to write 4 extended paragraphs of in depth football analysis . Promotion felt like Jesus himself coming down and giving you a pat on the back.

Imagine what Thiago could have done this game if he hadn't been carrying water for the corpse of Sergio Busquets for the first sixty minutes...what a depressing sight to see.

What I don't understand is why PSG aren't in for him. They're the team I feel that need him the most. Juve would also be a good shout. There has to be something discouraging those teams from getting him.

Maybe he is agreed to go to Liverpool but is just fishing to see if he can get a bumper mind numbing deal from United. Either way is win win for him and no harm trying. What a baller though.

I would like him at United but have made peace that he will end up at Liverpool.

Germany have some amazing talent to work with now.

Werner
Gnabry Havertz Sane

That's a pretty tasty attack to work with.

Thiago only would leave Bayern to play in the premier league I believe.

Wouldn’t be starting Havertz over Muller.
I wouldn't even think twice about playing Havertz over Muller. Low thinks the same hence why he doesnt seem to be choosing Muller even in the squads.

Müller is still leagues ahead of Havertz, especially in the big games. If you use him properly (like Heynckes, Guardiola and Flick did), Müller is still an absolute worldclass player.

Havertz has a lot to learn until he reaches that level.

Löw only refuses to play Müller, Hummels and Boateng, because they're all huge characters and vocal leaders. He hates such players and they were the perfect scapegoats ("We need to get younger!") after the 2018 WC fiasco.

Here in Germany more and more people are fed up with Löw and really nobody understands his stubborness.

In terms of individuals it doesn't seem anything out of the ordinary for a big national team. The question is how well they will settle together, them being divided in 2 clubs will help them hugely if none of them flop and they keep their national places.

Give them a break. It’s hard out there.

Hasn’t Low stopped picking Muller?
Yes, but this was more about politics (same with Hummels and Boateng) .

Müller should still be a starter, if Löw cared about the performance principle.

Not only is he a true winner, but he's also a leader and still a world-class player.

But Löw is as stubborn as they come. His favs like Draxler or Podolski (in the past) can play horrible for years and still get picked - even as starters.

I stand by my comment. I still think our cbs and gk cough up too many chances
That's fair enough.
I think there's an element of truth in that.
But it's not as bad as some people make out...

Apparently he was asked by the interviewer after the game Liverpool or Manchester and just replied Ciao

That was it? You didn't have to go down on a glory hole?

WTF!! Feckin Mods.

I don't understand the hate Draxler is getting, I thought he did really well in this match. Had some fantastic touches and played great passes to open up space for Sane and Werner behind the defense.

I actually thought this match showed oce again that he has been playing out of position this whole career as a LW. He was shoe horned in that role at Schalke because of first Raul and then Meyer playing there, but his best position since his youth days has been in the center of midfield.

He still has some years so I hope he leaves Paris and goes to a club where he can start consistently and that too as a CAM and now a LW.
