Thiago Alcantara | New contract

If Barca are truly interested in getting Sanchez and Fabregas then Alcantara may end up being available. At 15m euros he's a steal. This kid is pure gold dust.

I wonder what is Ander Herrera and Javi Martinez minimum clause fee. Both players showed incredible promise.

Ander Herrara only just moved to Bilbao, I don't think he'll be leaving any time soon.

Ouch.

However the minimum clause fee can still be activated + Manchester United > Bilbao. It all depends on how big is the minimum clause fee. If its 10-15m then we should think about it.

i know.. just kidding a bit there...:)

and like someone posted above, £15m for this guy is definitely a steal..when you consider a player who is at the same age with lesser talent cost 5m more...

Don't forget the one who had his arse spanked by the guy during the EURO U21 and who cost 5m more then that.

He hasn't played a single game for them yet and I believe they are his boyhood club, so I can't see any deal being possible for a while yet. Javi Martinez as a 40M euro clause I believe, so I imagine Herrara's will be at least 30 million.

It would be a great signing but I can't see it happening, he doesn't want to leave Barcelona. And even if he does he's unlikely to relish the chance of living in Manchester...

His younger brother, Rafinha, is currently a member of the FC Barcelona B.

not sure whether rafinha is rated higher than him though...

Rafa Alacantara is meant to be a better prospect. T.Alacantara is fantastic though, already knows how to use the ball more intelligently than the England midfield put together bar Wilshere.

His playing time will be very limited if they sign Fabregas - which seems more certain by the day.

Also had to apologise last week after making comments that he may not stay with Barca (or someothing similar). A sale would also help out Braca who clearly need the money.

If United are interested they wont be the only side I suspect.

Not a chance of it happening. Even if it would, then after 2-3 years he would want to return to Barcelona, so I couldn't care less.

Surely he'll only move if Barca get Fabregas, and if they do, Arsenal would probably want Thiago as a part exchange?

Stinks of.... nothing to report, right who played well in the U21's, what about that lad who scored a free-kick, let's link him to the biggest club in the land, should sell a few papers.

The Mirror is such a fecking rag. The worst of the lot in this window.

I did say earlier in the thread expect this to be in the media soon. It's so easy to start a rumour, and get the papers to run with the story.

Excellent, brilliant player. Never seen him play.

Would fit in well in our midfield alongside Nasri, Modric and Sneijder!

Barcelona are going to such lengths to sign Fabregas, a great player who is one of their own. They've waited for him for years but are willing to put up big money to buy him

So tell me again why they'd be willing to sell another great (young) player who is also one of their own and also came through their academy?

They'll share the games around and Iniesta and Fabregas get enough injuries to assure a certain percentage of games anyway.

I think its more likely that we'll see Keita leave

I can't imagine us signing him, but it would be great if we did. He looks like he going to be class.

Barca have somewhat shot themselves in the foot to start this transfer window - all the clubs they'll deal with know that

a) They want both Sanchez and Fabregas
b) They don't really have the money for one let alone both
c) That they want to flog off some of their youth team produced squad players (Bojan, Thiago, Jeffren) for some more cash, and
d) That they're more than happy to let players go elsewhere and get them back if they prove to be a truly class player

Essentially this puts clubs looking to buy in a position of power over Barca (the Daily Mirror seemed to suggest that the bid was enough but that we weren't happy with a buyback clause)

:mad::mad:

The Sun are also reporting this story. I've never seen him kick a ball in ernest, doesn't stop me being excited though.

Bravo!... Well done ..That's the muppet spirit lol

The El Mundo Deportivo is who reported the story first and where The Mirror took the story from.. Any Spaniards know if it's reliable? It's a Barca paper too.

Barca clearly want to offload him so they can bring in Cesc but want to have their cake and eat it too with a buy-back clause. If he stays, he won't get any playing time since Barca play a smallish squad. He's good enough to play for another big team that wants him now, not in 2-3 years.

As it looks like the likes of sneijer & modric will being going elsewhere may thinking long term with signing such as alcantara is SAF´s plan all along. Though CL might be a bridge to far next season a team of below would surely mount a chanllenge in the following seasons¨

Nasri/young-----Rooney/Hern----Nani/Val
-----------alcantara/cleverly
-----Anderson/Fletcher-----Jones/pogba
Evra/?----Vidic/rio---smalling--Raf/
-------------De Gea

That actually looks quite exciting...I guess...

Wednesday 29 June

11:05 El Mundo Deportivo claim Bolton discovered United are leading the race to sign Barcelona's Thiago Alcantara when making a bold approach for the midfielder. The report suggests he is 'responsive' to a move to Old Trafford but there's a rival €20m bid from Chelsea and Barca's insistence on a buy-back clause would be a deal breaker.

Interesting if true, would be a great signing
