Gaming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Yep. Apparently the only fixes are to load from before you even get to Kaer Morhen, and my only save from before that is before I've even been to Skellige.
Had that too, I'm not really a completionist though, but I can imagine the horror if you are.

If it was an in-game option I’d send Roach to the glue factory. Forever getting stuck, stopping for no aparant reason, walk up to him and he runs off.

I can find the stuff to make potions.
I guess you mean you can't? Simply collect everything you run across, and after a while you'll have enough of all the basic ingredients. Of course many potions/decoctions/oils require special ingredients which can only be found on specific monsters, for oils it's always the targeted monster type.

Crafting and Alchemy ingredients don't weight anything so just loot everything you see. Other than a few items that are on some of the rarer monsters or can only be bought I never had an issue crafting or brewing anything. Oh and use oils frequently, they don't run out and makes things a lot easier.

For best results with oils you need to take the corresponding skills from the alchemy tree, which give you bonus damage and protection against the targeted enemy type.
A build centered on alchemy is imho the most versatile, witcher-like, and, last but not least, fun way to play the game.

Triss is looking mighty fine in this alternative look, so fine I might bestow upon her the honour of receiving the Geralt of Rivia sword.

I’m not overly focused on the oils, I barely use them and haven’t taken a decotation yet, get good at dodging and countering and you can from my experience easily just dodge and strike with out-ever getting hit, Archers can be annoying if you’re fighting a few people so it just comes down to making smart choices, obviously oils and that make it easier but I’m finding all the prep work and conversations a bit tedious now having been through it all before, I just want to get balls deep in some action and killing things or find merchants to buy cards off and play Gwent.

Oils are pretty useless. Decoctions are great and pretty essential but only on the hardest difficulty.

Only downside after taking a few is you look like a Witcher junkie in cutscenes.

Considering playing it a third time on the new TV. Would be a record to play a game a thief time in the space or 2 years

Why is it after everytime Geralt gets some lovin he sets off and forgets to put his boots and gloves on yet remembers the rest of his armour and swords. Fecking annoying.

I’ve screwed up somewhere as Isle of the mist has showed up, but some quests seem to have disappeared, like Philipa Einheart, and the Radovid stuff. I’m sure there are other missions I haven’t been able to play this play through.

This seriously puts me off using them sometimes

Ciri isn't that far off, eyes are wrong colour considering how much he went on about her green eyes in the books. Yennefer is way too young looking.

Just found Uma and started doing that stuff in Kaer Morhen, seemed like a good time to start doing DLC's.
Starting with blood and whine as people in general seems to rate G.O.D as the best villain in the game, and I want to end on a high-note.

Also grabbed AC: Odyssey tonight, so if I get tired I can change to something else. :)

It makes more sense to do B&W after the main game. It's set up as a farewell to Geralt and the series in a way. I think it's more poignant after the main story.

I assume then that I can continue playing after beating the final boss of the game?

Blood and wine sure but Heart of the Stone is pretty much free reign.

Still annoyed I screwed up the story and it took away some decent missions from me, reluctant to push on.

I intend to do heart of stone last anyways due to wanting G.O.D as my final villain. :)

Cannot believe that they didn't cast Eva Green as Yen. Most obvious choice ever.

Finally got around to completing this over the holidays, started it a while back and just couldn't get into it. After reading all the hype about how it's the greatest game of all time I decided to try again and play through it all. Graphics wise it's stunning, it makes spending that ridiculous money on a high end card worth it, i also liked the combat and customisation, although having to constantly repair weapons was really annoying, it just seemed to add another thing to do on top of the million others just for the sake of it.

Storey wise, i found the main quest interesting at the start but quickly became boring and repetitive (do a favour for a favour get what you want then rinse and repeat), same with the dialogue, was interesting at the start but they became more drawn out and laborious to sit through as the game went on, i ended skipping most of it later. I think the dialogues ate into the majority of the game time, personally i'm more of gameplay type of person. Found the story predictable as well and too drawn out. Guess everyone has different tastes but for the main quest i'd give it a low end 7/10.

As for the DLC, i found it to be a completely different kettle of fish and the stories and dialogue were much improved, i found them better than the main game, B&W being my favourite with it's setting, characters and story and imo was better than the main game.

Overall i was kinda disappointed, but only because of the highest expectations i had for the game due to the hype, it's not a bad game at all, it is definitely one of the better games, but found it to be over rated.

Just started playing this for the first time. I'm loving the setting so far, very dark and desperate.

Seems like they used their entire casting budget on Cavill. Haven't a clue who the rest of the cast are.

Doesn't mean they won't be good though.
GOT was mostly unknowns and B list actors too except for maybe Bean (arguably). Obviously the first only made it less than a season so in a way id like to trust the casting folks to know what they are doing.

I actually miss this game, but I can't bring myself to replay these large RPG games once I finish them.

There'll always be some margin for error when hiring "unknowns". Using GoT as an example, I think Emilia Clarke is a poor choice for such a key character in the storyline. Sure, she's attractive, but her dynamic range as an actress is lacking. Productions with larger budgets (e.g. Disney Star Wars) generally have a better success rate with relative unknowns. As for a Netflix series... let's just say I'm not setting expectations high so that I might get pleasantly surprised.

Enjoy the ride! Loved the atmosphere of the main game, but also the contrast in the Blood and Wine DLC as well.

There are only very few games I start a second time. TW3 will be one of those. It helps that I have not seen any of the DLC content so far.

I have a save game just before the important decisions that determines the fate of ending happen, so I can revisit it If I want to see the other endings.

The ending I got was Ciri becoming Witcher and Geralt ending with Triss

I've finished this twice. And I'm actually contemplating a third play through. I mean, I always was going to do so, but initially felt I'd wait longer.

Yeah I've went to do a 2nd play through 2 or 3 times but always another game came out around it so I left it. Not touched the DLC's. Think I'm waiting till I've moved house, got the cinema room set up and have a clear month of no more new games.
