I just realized Daryl is that awful guy from Blade 2

Season 3 was awful, made me stop watching the show. Is the show still bad?
I also stopped watching halfway thru the 4th season, it was getting so bad... My wife finished it and was so exited about the 5th season, that she got me watching again and to be honest the 5th season started great.

My summary so far:

Season 1: probably the best season overall, but it was also the shortest, so it was easier to keep us hooked.
Season 2: the worst season by a country mile. I can't believe they spent a whole season at that damn farm.
Season 3: sort of a mix between s1 and s2. They kept the story going, with plenty of action, but it was still a bit too slow.
Season 4: the first half of this season is the best part of the series so far. The second half was a bit slow, but the character development was great.
Season 5: very good start, reminds me a bit of the pacing in the first half of s4. I hope they can keep this up.
I disagree with your ranking a bit. To me it was like this:
Season 1: great
Season 2: good
Season 3: bad
Season 4: very bad (the character development was very boring and painful)
Season 5: good so far, episode by episode:
Episode 1: great
Episode 2: good
Episode 3: good
Episode 4: disappointing - it wasn't that bad, but it started really interesting and than it flopped. I was expecting something Orwellian after the first few scenes, but at the end it was very flat and unimaginative. I think they missed a big chance to create a very interesting dynamic in that group.

Aaah, that's right. Still stupid to split up, especially when there was one usable Bus that could take ALL of them. They should have waited another day or two, especially after taking out the remainder of the Terminus people.

Rick's lot did want to wait as a group, but the Washington guy wants to get to Washington asap. They agreed to stay and fight the Terminus folks as long as Maggie and Glen agree to come to Washington with them. They chose those two because they've known them the longest and Washington guy seemed quite impressed with Glen's zombie walker-fighting ability. They're down to just 3 people so you can understand why he'd want more muscle.

And Beth

And that weird irrelevant girl who I think is a lesbian but can't really remember.

Yeah but don't hold it against him, he's also Murphy from Boondock Saints and that's been one of my favourite films since the day it came out.

I actually thought season two was good also. Probably because Shane was in it, he was a great villain.

Season 2 had good moments (like finale, midseason finale) among a whole lot of rubbish.

Finally caught up with everything.

Obviously Stevie Wonder could of seen the 'twist' with Eugene coming, good episode though. And Beth's back

I thought that episode was shite and I've liked all the season five episodes prior to that. Suppose I just don't care about any of the characters that featured in that episode and am I the only one who finds the dialogue diabolical?

Holy shit I was just about to say I enjoyed the dialogue in this episode, thought it was pretty funny compared to it's other attempts at humour. I actually thought this was the best episode since the opening. Fcuking opinions man.

I think the dialogue in this show has always been very weak, but I found it particularly grating today. Perhaps, it's more to do with characters like Abraham and Eugene who I can't take seriously due to the way they talk (I know the latter is meant to be intentional). Still, with literally every character, the dialogue is so simplistic compared to most other shows and they constantly try to cover the same themes - not losing their humanity, not losing hope, etc.

I can't take Abraham seriously because I just can't help thinking of late 90's James Hetfield.

I can't wait for them to find another group who seem fine on the surface but are hiding a dark secret.

What if they found a group that seemed dark on the surface but was actually hiding a good secret.....oh wait they already did that one also and we never heard from them again.

Remind me?

Thought it was a good episode. Surprised they did the Eugene reveal so early. Really thought that would be a little ways out.

I enjoyed the Abraham back story quite a bit. Will be interesting to see what the group does. Seems the logical thing to do is to wait for the rest or head back to try to meet up with them. It seems at the end there that Abraham finally came to terms with the fact that the mission was for naught and his desire to push on with it was obviously fueled by trying to find some meaning in his life after losing his family. Perhaps now he'll be more open to meeting back up with the rest rather than pushing on.

I'm not going to talk specifics because I don't think we're supposed to, but the scenes from next week looked good. Pumped for the next episode.

Could we please possibly have just one Eugene episode without entire conversations dedicated to his hair?

The dialogue has been terrible since the beginning so its not really an issue. Just glad they didnt do a Lori type crash for the vehicle . At least it had a reason to crash.

Just a shame the walkers are pretty much a distraction for them rather than an actual threat.

I'm surprised they did the reveal so early for Eugene. Wasn't really a surprise though, most expected it a long time ago.

it's annoying they've gone back to splitting the groups and having different episodes for each group. It sort of screams of a show that's basically run out of ideas and the best way to fill episodes now is to do that. None of the characters in the show are strong enough to carry episodes.

So is Eugene dead or what? It wasn't really clear to me when they rolled him over on his back. Not that I particularly care about the character, but it would have some pretty far reaching consequences for the group's reaction to Abraham.

I agree it's a shame they're back to one group episodes. It completely ruins the pace of the story. That was clear the last times they tried it and they haven't learnt from it.

From what I could make out Eugene's not dead, just badly hurt. I thought his 'reveal' would come in or very near Washington - probably next series - but at least the producers have given the viewers some credit and not run this storyline to the ground.

What's interesting is the backstory this week was for Abraham, better spoiler my next assumptions:

which probably means goodbye T-Redneck. The repeated references to his hand not healing and his determination to not rest or waste time means he knows he hasn't got long

Back to boring tedious episodes then, complete with the same conversations yet again and another terrible back story done is flashbacks.

At least they finally revealed Eugene, I refuse to accept there's anyone out there who didn't see that coming from the moment he first appeared on screen.

I thought it was abysmal, ended up just with it on as background noise whilst I browsed the web.

Just started the episode, but I really don't like the eugene character. It's like they tried to make him as nerdy as possible in every sense, from how he walks, looks and how he talks/
