 As a side note, I stopped watching this shit ages ago after that cannibal story ended shite.

But i'm curious to know which of the main characters have died since?

I know that
Abraham and Glenn got their heads bashed in.
And very satisfying it was too. Stopped watching again a few episodes after that.

This is from 2016, but it's still a monster in ratings.

Only a zombie outbreak might bring cancelation.

Didn't mind this first episode, but that one part with just one guy next to just one car, and Carol and twenty others shooting at him was really stupid.
X-Files dropped a ball with new episodes, GoT became Fan Service Central and Big Bang Theory always got some lame sense of humor. Easy win for the zombies.

It went sharply downhill after Shane died.

Merle was really good for a while, especially his last episode. But overall killing Shane was stupid. Should have just had him go off alone and come back years later as a bad guy

Jon Bernthal was way too good to play second fiddle for long.

But yeah, I really miss the days of Shane, Dale and even Lori. Not necessarily for the characters, but both the action and the drama was way, way stronger in the first couple of seasons.

Yeah. I only started watching them a year ago and I binged them. During season one, it was so good and I knew a moment would come at some point where the show would start to decline.

When Dale and Shane died in two episodes, I briefly considered stopping there because I knew it'd be that turning point I'd expected would come & ultimately it was.

Mixed emotions with that episode

Kind of liked 10 mins of it but then I thought the rest was abit meh.

16 episodes worth of preparing for that seige and the plan was to ignore the clear shots at Neegan and his deputies, make a crazy rushed shot on the count of 7 then waste all your ammo shooting windows.

I’m resisting watching it, this is how it goes, I absoulutly deteste this Show now but I keep giving it too many chances. I’m really surprised it has such large viewing numbers.

Given the way the last season ended why the feck would Negan and his crew just be chilling out, all business as usual like, whilst Rick and that are hatching a plan?

Why the feck would Negan and his main men step out of that door unarmed?

Why the feck would Rick have not shot and killed Negan when he had ample opportunity?

I still enjoy the show, hence I still watch it, but it's just another trashy TV show now. Why all this "not about me" crap too? They were making a fecking enormous point of it. Gearing up for Rick to leave the show? I wouldn't be surprised. Edit: also the point about Karl being the man to look after the place etc too. Seems like some hella serious foreshadowing to me.

When Rick woke up in bed with a grey beard I was kind of hoping he'd be waking from his coma on S1ep1 and it had all been a dream.

The writing in TWD is so fecking weak, it's unreal. So much dumb shit going on but you can count on me watching it.

What happened to those garbage fellas by the way? Some of them (including that terrifying woman) managed to run away from the gunfight in last season's finale right?

What actually happened? I watched it all but I just remember they were attacking negans compound in the beginning and the rest is a bit blank.

I guess that they are occupying Negan with the walkers while they attack his satellite bases. Would not be surprised if those people you mentioned get some payback for what they did in the next episode.

This crossed my mind too.
Especially given the scene when he’s crying. I feel like it’s a flash forward to the end of the season, and the old scene is his afterlife and what he wanted or something.

Regardless of how crappy this show is, one thing I enjoy is Rick. Seeing his idiotic son lead the group would probably be the final nail in the coffin for me, I couldn’t handle watching him lead the group.

They set up a football club and called it Liverpool FC.

That scene when the priest is getting out of the car to help that old Hilltop leader and then he fecks him over with his car, each season there's a number of absolutely absurd things that make me go 'nah, this is fecking idiotic, enough for me, and here I am, watching the 8th season now.

They were sniping all those lookouts but when Negan's standing out in the open nobody took a single shot at him...

WTF was that?

It was building up to some sort of twist that never came. And that hopping around the timeline was extremely annoying without any payoff. The show has gotten too far up itself.

How they were able to sniper lookout posts in stealth like fashion but were incapable of taking out Negan when given ample opportunity, is plain ridiculous. And Gabriel had a gun ffs, he could have just taken out Negan when locked in with eachother (let me guess, next ep we will see he ran out of ammo at that very moment, superhero Negan lives to fight another day...)

Its mind boggling how much better FTWD has become than this. TWD writers need to stop being so spineless and clean house with some of these characters

I binged watched the latest series of FTWD just before the start of this, although it doesn't get the ratings or appeal I have to say the writing in FTWD is so much better than this now and even the characters too. Compare it to TWD, its littered with pointless and daft characters, the priest, the kingdom people, rubbish tip people, Hilltop guy, etc the shows gets more slapstick every episode.

How long has it been since the outbreak? Because those numpties were quick to adapt to the "Speak the true true" broken tribal English.

For those wondering why they shot at the windows it's about the broken window theory that Rick mentioned a couple seasons back.
It's about how if you keep the windows intact and everything tidy and fixed that peace is easy to maintain, but once the windows are broken things start to go downhill as broken windows breeds chaos and dissent. He did it so Negan is brought down by his own people instead of another leader ripping his crown off.

The reason he shot at him in the end was because he lost his cool.

In my head I just think of it as an astonishingly unlikely gathering of people with learning difficulties.

Interesting. Thanks.

These guys manage to shoot zombies in the head with crazy accuracy but they had semi automatics and couldn't kill Negan or one the guys all available to be shot? It's just stupidity

I watched the 16th episode of the 2nd season immediately after the season premiere of TWD and it shocking how much better than the latter its become. They also do kill off characters in FTWD unlike in TWD.

Was bit of a mixed bag that episode entertainment wise but incredibly stupid. How come there was only 1 person at each checkpoint?

My theory would be shoot him and his unarmed deputies, then go in and shoot all the other feckers. Job jobbed.
