Television The Walking Dead

Do you get Talking Dead over there? I never watch it but it always amazes me that the show is considered so important that it has to be dissected for a half hour after it's aired. I bet they struggled with this last one.

The black walker had me laughing. Just because the one black walker they have come across happens to look like the one that Tara lost in that exact same heap of walkers.

I'm never one to be over critical of shows but that was genuinely one of the worst episodes I have ever watched of anything. The season started well but it's been awful since and I've finally kind of lost hope for this show. I actually prefer FTWD now.

Agree last episode was sh!te, glad Im able to fast forward. Ten episodes focusing on Rick and the group would be so much better.

I'm a defender of the show usually but I was fortunate enough to miss the episode. Don't think I will bother catching up with it.

So this week's waste of an episode was a few minutes longer than usual. And next week's is another 90-minute episode, just like the one a few weeks ago, which wasn't worth its runtime.

I also read a few articles discussing the show's loss of rating. Hardly surprising. You can't survive forever on good season enders and season openers, with plenty of crap in between.

They really need to try and work in a 'cure' based plot I think. I know it's not exactly the point of the show (it's about survival and all that stuff) but they have used the same stuff for a long time now: find place as it is safe, meet villain, place becomes unsafe, fight, conquer, and rinse and repeat. It'd be a nice little shake up. Even if it is only a season or half a season kind of deal.

Yep, saw a bit of the last one when they were treating Tara's return like the second coming.
Talking dead takes itself so seriously to the point of cringey.

A show like that would be like a football club's website. North Korea.

Just saw last weeks. What a pile of wank.

I'd rather watch an episode of Daryl listening to that song.

Now that she knows her GF is dead you'd think she'd head back to Lezzer Island toot sweet. No more prospects left with her group.

Watching current episode...shite on a stick....rather boring....Carl quickly turned from a big bad ass to a big crying pussy.

Some acting from the young lad at last.

Are we supposed to know who the woman/ironed face people are? I didn't understand any of that.

Not sure if if was mentioned in the show but i'm pretty sure it was. Will put in spoilers just in case but it's nothing major.

The women were the wives of Negan, women who agreed to marry him in order to live good lives and for their old significant others to live lives too. The man whose face he put the iron too was a man whose wife is married to Negan but they slept together, which was cheating on Negan. He said they could stop being his wives if they like, they have a choice, but he hates cheating.
Dwight was burned for running and stealing and the iron was his punishment and as a remembrance to never cross Negan again.

So carl goes to Negan's lair with the sole intent of killing him, grabs a machine-gun, has Negan in his sights and then doesn't kill him.

Negan thinks he'll make a good soldier? Righto.

At some point I thought Negan will force Carl to shag one of his bitches but that didn't happen, besides that Eugene and Rosita had some cool verbal fencing.

Gotta love Negan, my favourite troll in the show by far.

That was a much much better episode it actually had quite a lot of things going on.

I know we're meant to hate Negan but I actually like him, he's just a complete lunatic.

Negan has been growing on me. Such a troll. Carl being a dumb idiot once again, for christ sake how did he think it was a good idea to try and kill Negan on his own.
Also, is Dwight changing his mind ?

Carls plan was to go in and kill him. And then had a chance but didnt because...

I liked that episode cos it at least had some things happen.

The one problem with the show which I realised watching the latest episode is I dont know the names of the characters. I know some, but then others who have been there I have no clue what their name is. Like the dude who hates Rick. Or the gay dude name who disappeared for a while but is now travelling with Rick (also did I miss something but whos place are they going to?).
And I finally found out that chick is named Olivia (though ill probably forget).

Dwight is a good character though. Jesus is a strange one. That was probably my fav episode of Negan though.

The joke is on Negan with that cliffhanger mind... not even Rick gives a feck about Judith, let alone the audience.

I quite liked that episode but the fact that Coraaaal was holding a gun with Negan stood in front of him and didn't shoot is completely implausible. His whole reason for going there was to kill him. So we are supposed to believe that when he gets there, he was happy to shoot some of his cronies but not Negan himself? At that point, he'd have assumed it was a kamikaze mission anyway as surely he wasn't expecting to escape alive. That part just really bugged me.

Negan was great though.

Carl's a fecking asshole that's why.

Yeah this is kinda a problem. It wasnt like he got there, then froze thinking, "shit, how doI get out of this". he actually killed people knowing there wasnt a way out, But then didnt shoot Negan when he had a chance. Then his shitness leads Negan to find out about Judith.
