Television The Walking Dead

It was a great episode. Zombies, explosions and dead bikers, burning zombies, people getting eaten, other people not getting eaten against all the odds and Carl "it's only a flesh wound" taking one for the team as Michonne offed a child holding a gun with her trusty sword. Enjoy it for what it is or stop watching would be my advice.

I'm not a doctor but I think one can survive a headshot under the right circumstances, however I believe that one cannot survive a headshot without brain damage. Do we have a medical expert who can clarify this?

That was great. Killed off those 3 annoying cnuts in about 30 seconds and very satisfyingly done too.

Spent that entire 30 seconds thinking, wow this is how awesome it'll feel when Coral dies, except it will be 10 times better.

Then Coral does die, but survives. Bastards!

Even by its own standards that was just fecking rediculous.

Think the first 10 minutes were great but a group of about 10 people beating a swarm of that size just means they should call it a day now.

Evil Carl and Mini Carl dying in the space of about a minute was amazing. And we very nearly got the death of actual Carl as well.

TBH, I really liked that episode and more episodes should be like this. I think TWD would be more fun if they cut it down to 10 episodes, got rid of all that BS talking filler they do, and just use the budget for things like this.

They really love teasing Glenn about to die. If and when he does die, it wont have the same impact tbh. In fact they should make it a running gag every ep, he comes close to dying but is saved in ridiculous fashion.

Im glad the other two kids died, even though it was sad seeing the hot mum go. But they were all being retarded, so deserved it.

I did laugh how it kinda went from day to night, and they are still walking linked but obviously havent gone anywhere

The biker scene though, that was fun.

lol

This show really takes the piss, doesn't it? "Omg my mum and brother are getting eaten alive, let's point my gun at Rick so I can get stabbed by Michonne" ffs

Did I miss that "Mum?" moment with which the previous episode ended by the way? I thought that was supposed to be the cliffhanger?

I was wondering the same. I thought that'd be the moment where all the shit went down but it seemed to get glossed over?

:lol:She cut him down with her sword, but I like the way no-one really bats an eyelid in this programme. The lake of fire was silly- why didn't they just make a (vaguely) more plausible flamethrower with the petrol pump?
For all the criticism you can level at it, that was the best and most enjoyable episode in yonks.

I'm not even going to attempt to analyze what the feck just happened. I think this is the point where they honestly gave up trying to make it even a little believable and went "oh feck it, let's just go full Evil Dead". What an episode, I'm still catching my breath. The bazooka, the family genocide, chopping off your former love interest's arm, sword killing children, getting your eye blown out and delivering a dramatic line before you fall (that was like the coyote from Road Runner walking on thin air until he realizes he's walked off a cliff), Kamikaze Rick and then the bazooka again. It had everything! Next episode they'll get the chainsaw out.

I like this new direction. The bazooka is now firmly my new favourite character on the show.

tl;dw - The average "life"span of a zombie is a few months and so the creators are coming to the end of that and will try to cram more action into shorter amounts of time whilst moving the cast northward were zombies should survive longer. If the theory is correct we should expect more episodes like the most recent.

Just watched it. Let's not rule them out just yet... :nervous:

I thought that episode was class. It had everything that I love about The Walking Dead. If you want realism you shouldn't be watching a show about a zombie apocalypse.

Saw your post just before i started watching it and they kinda promoted in almost all promos that bike gang as some kind new group of bad guys, was surprised that they got fecked in 3 min,so found it funny :)

Was great, wasnt expecting it. Would be funny if nothing ever comes from it ever again.

Agreed, I want more of this tbh. Feck all this dialogue BS that has no meaning despite them trying. More action, less talking, more zombie killing and running from.

Edited for clarity :)

I like that the moral outrage is directed at plot points such as "they killed the walking dead in a way that could have been better achieved another way" rather than "kinell, they just killed a child. With a sword".

Whenever I think "that was a bit dumb" I remember that there are zombies everywhere and you can't get dumber than that. I then just relax and enjoy the ride.

I enjoyed it tbh, I was so glad that little turd and his bro was killed but I wish the mum couldve survived as her character had potential they couldve developed her a little more.

It was great seeing Rick go all Rambo and take on hundreds of walkers though

I think it's about time they go absolutely mad on the Walkers. This should be the point where Walkers aren't that worrying any more. They've taken them all on. They aren't scary. You have walls and people who routinely kill dozens of them.

You just know though, that despite the fact that they've all just taken on thousands of walkers, out in the open and survived. That one of them will do something stupid and get bitten in a coming episode. They can take on the hoard, but when one lone walker pops out of a cupboard, they'll get terrified and walk backwards until they trip over a stick and get eaten.

That being said, if you take the show for what it is, that was a pretty entertaining episode. Excpet for Coral getting shot in the face and surviving. Isn't that the second time he's been shot now? The cnut is like Rasputin.

That episode was mental and i loved it. We will probably get 3-4 borefest episodes now, that's been the trend with this series lately.

Yeah I quite enjoyed that. Didn't expect that whole family to become dinner. Felt it went a bit too far when Rick went full retard though and kind of detracts from the zombie threat if they're that easy to mow down.

 @ the rocket launcher wipeout at the beginning.

Loved how they walked through Alexandria from afternoon til late evening :wenger:

Carl got shot in the head from about 5 feet away, and only lost an eye

Carl getting shot, managing to say a word coherently, then dropping down, was genius

I don't have a problem with that. It's no more ridiculous than Gus's death in BB which is show that doesn't contain people that come back from the dead.

I know, I thought it was genius. I think we need more stuff like this episode.

Why is Rick so monumentally stupid? The plan to dress up in their stupid zombie disguises then quietly sneak to the armoury and get guns isn't his favourite plan any more. So what's he do? Instead of going to the armoury anyway to get guns and discuss the new plan there, he decides to have a chat about it in the middle of the zombies. Then set off on his new favourite plan with little to no ammo. Brilliant Rick, that's why you're in charge and get to judge the Alexandrians as not worthy.

Great episode. That annoying family getting killed off was the best part.

It must be carl's magic hat wot slowed down the bullet.

Why would you go into a zombie battle with a knife though? A hatchet isn't much better. Machete has to be the best weapon and even mullet bloke was doing well with his.

To be fair, despite their heroic stand, they were all just about to become lunch before back up arrived (just in time...for the third?time in one episode!)

Fully enjoyable restart to the series for me tho!

Are you telling me Carl got shot in the head and survived? So happy I stopped watching.
Shot through the eye socket with the bullet apparently exiting out the side of the eye. So lost his eye but no brain damage. It's plausible.

How many of you who squeel in delight when Coral got shot, but heartbroken when he squeeze Rick's hand?

I have mixed feelings. I want Coral dead, but I don't want another excuse for them to show loopy nutjob Rick, like they did after his wife's death.

Although I was wondering if he actually might be dead, and the hand movement was the first sign of him having turned.

Dear God, that would be brilliant.

Carls not dead, they've left it too open like they did with Glenn. I suppose if the bullet just clipped his outer eye socket it's possible to do what it did.

That rpg was just so damn unexpected though, I sat there just like.. What?!?! How?!?!

What if Carl is not dead but suffers severe brain damage, in the end he slows down the group when they have to move from Alexenandria. Several of the group are killed due to protecting Carl, Rick then decides enough is enough and has to put down his son.

Dark.
