Television The Walking Dead

You realise that with them switching between different sets of people in every episode, since the start of the season we've moved forward about... a few hours?

There was the standard dumb death (well done diabetic girl) but apart from that I thought the episode was alright. I mean it's completely ridiculous and unrealistic that a group like the guy and the two girls are still alive at this stage as one would think after 2+ years only the smart ones would still be alive but who cares, I got used to stuff like that.

So people think that was Glenn at the end and not the guy + the girl who stole Daryl's motorbike + stuff?

I more or less liked Daryl's story but the episode was full of shit writing again. Daryl, the inredible tracker and hunter gets ambushed by a trio of complete amateurs, one of which is a guy that barely knows what end of a gun bullets come out of and another an utterly braindead girl, as evidenced by here woeful deathscene. Who the hell kneels that close to two bodies in a world infested with bodies who want to eat you? Of course they were stealth zombies, there they are again! And who the hell manages to fall forward TOWARDS the zombies in that situation? Not to mention the guy who was part of a search team who manages to get grabbed and bit by a totally harmless zombie stuck between a rock and a tree. And the less said about the awful dialogue between Sasha and James Hetfield, the better.

Also a stealth zombie.

Seriously though if you manage to get bitten by a zombie that's basically just a head sticking out of a crevice then I guess you should just probably go ahead and kill yourself.

James Hetfield  Wow, they really out do themselves with the horrendous stupid deaths dont they? It was going through my mind, wow, they introduced characters and not to just kill them, and then I actually started laughing when the girl got killed

The only thing worthy out of Sasha and Abrahams whole thing was him getting a bazkooka. They did a good job of making Daryl look like an idiot though.

Yeah, also thought it was Glenn on the radio.

Thank god for that rpg. Now at least we've got the prospect of shit exploding in a future episode, always a highlight.

Can someone explain to me why the two robbed Darryl at the very end? I'm sure I missed something?

He was walking along with the Bike and the two behind him, talking, and then said 'oh shit' and turned around and they had the gun pointed at him again... I don't know what I missed?

I was a bit confused by that too, maybe they were just waiting for him to show them where the bike was and he heard the gun click? That doesn't really explain why they wouldn't just leave of their own accord and find and abandoned vehicle like Daryl did himself in about 30 seconds, though.

So were they bad the whole time? I'm really confused about how that scene came about.

I thought he (Daryl) mentioned that the was from a place were people live somewhat normally, and picked up his bike and started on his way. They followed him, he was talking idly and then nekk minnit they had a gun aimed at him again. After he saved their arses. Who are they and what was their point?

Not sure to be honest. I'm guessing we'll find out more about who they are when they inevitably get themselves killed in the next episode. More likely just really stupid rather than full-on 'bad guys', imo, or they'd have just killed him surely?

It's like this all the time though, to be honest. People getting surprised by random zombies, non stop - maggie and aidan in the sewage tunnel (let's open this door and not check for zombies behind it), the idiots in the woods coming back from the horde diversion mission (let's stop for a rest and have no one look the other way), etc. It's either lazy or just lacking imagination.

I laughed when the diabetic girl died. I mean, how predictable was it? What an utterly stupid thing to do. The characters piss me off with their idiotic decisions. Didn't consider Glenn for the radio but that makes sense. Shame the writers didn't have the balls to kill him off.

Me and my ladyfriend laughed too. We had literally just said we hope these new pointless periphery characters get it, and next second she kneels down next to them.

Probably a split second decision to take the bike and get as far away from that area as possible to avoid capture by the group that they previously were part of. Only room for 2 on the bike so Daryl lost out.

It's fine, he'll be the first ever character who'll be walking with all his guts out, no lungs, shitting himself all the time through a hole in his belly who will not turn into a walker.

It's all fine.

Really didn't sound like Glenn to me. Anyway, what are they going to do, fire that bazooka at the walkers surrounding him, killing them all instantly with him being somehow unharmed?

The writers are obviously playing with us - for three episodes now. I'm just not sure where we are going with this. To Glenn somehow surviving, or the more logical end of 'did you really think he was going to survive this? Nope'.

I wonder if the two new villainous characters are going to be important, or just as pointless as the other day tripping villains from the last 2 seasons. Also, the guy who got his arm chopped off, finally someone did that since Hershel from season 2? It seems the show never repeats things from previous seasons (like putting zombie guts on themselves, the Michonne zombie trick).

I think the show really need to expand on a rival group now to get any interest from me.

The way characters die in this show is absolutely ridicilous. Such lazy writing.

Don't think the couple would be important. On the other hand the group they were running away from could be important and could be the villanous group for 2nd half of this season or they could deal with the Wolves this season and set this group up for next season

Well the couple has Daryll's crossbow. So I'm assuming we will see them again for him to get it back. Also yes it seems something is hinted for bigger things with that group. Hope it is interesting rather than another short term villain.

Speculation:
Bet we see the couple again, but Daryl will feel sorry for them and let them be. Ugh.

Agreed, on those two. Would be useful having walkers that cant bite you but to help disguise the smell (I assume thats what happens) - even though it doesnt really make sense because if youre in the middle of walkers at other times, they manage to smell you?! And when they dont have teeth they dont attack you even though youre there guiding them? aghhh.

The mouthless walker tactic seems stupid to me, I think it was just done to make Michonne look like a badarse to begin with.

Covering yourself in zombie-guts though makes more sense and it is preposterous that they don't do it prior to leaving on missions. As if you wouldn't take every measure possible to protect yourself.

Amazing how people quit this show but feel the need to come back each week and tell us how happy they are that they quit.

My immediate thought was that it was Glenn's voice. Was always expecting it anyway for the walkie talkie angle.

Can't wait for the bazooka fun but I'm disappointed the blonde girl got herself done for. She was quite pleasant to look at.

The new people intrigued me. As has been said, no W's so they aren't the wolf feckers but the way it didn't show the leaders face suggested it may be someone we know from previously. How did that guv'nor fella die again? Did we see it explicitly?

I watched it last night and can barely remember what happened. Though my phone was none to happy about the battery drain it caused.

The last 2 episodes have been a bit boring for me, a bit of a mid-season lull. No problem if the mid-season finale pays off

 It is the one show I watch where I think I just have my phone in the hand for the majority of it....even weirder it feels like I don't miss anything.

The episode was ok at best, I'd imagine it will do same as every year and end well mid season with a big cliffhanger.

The governor was definitely killed off. If I remember correctly Michone disemboweled him and then his lover came over and shot him in the head.

Ah you're right. I couldn't remember exactly how it happened. I still can't shake this feeling that the boss of this new crowd will be a face we've seen before.

Well, with the way they deliberately only showed the legs of the guys in the woods I'd taken that as read.

Darryl didn't seem to react in a way that suggested he recognized them but maybe he didn't get a good look from his viewpoint either.

It's a big decision to stop watching something you've watched for years. I come back in here to check what people are saying about the latest ep to see if it might be worth watching again.

I thought it was Rick at first until I came on here and read it might be Glenn on the radio

How can you even consider that the squeaky little voice could have been the voice of Steve, a man so bad ass he once bit another mans throat.

Saying that, you can never tell with him. One week he hates everything and wants to grow another beard, then the next week he is farming and shit. The man is a wreck.

I get that but it's the telling us that you made the right call which comes across a bit uppity. In fairness this is only your first week so you're far from the worst.

Maybe you should start your own forum so you can properly dictate what people can and can't say?

Meanwhile, this is a forum and about communications and opinions.

Wow.

Fair enough, apologies to anyone who's opinion on episodes they haven't watched that I offended. I hope my thoughts don't dissuade you from contributing to the Walking Dead discussions in the future.
