Television The Walking Dead

It seems like the 7th or 8th time they've encountered a place where the line "You'll have to hand over your weapons" has been used.

finally a good episode!

“We won’t get weak,” Rick answers. “That’s not in us any more. We’ll make it work. If they can’t make it, then we’ll just take this place.”

:cool::devil:

For me, it wasnt as good as last weeks, but was what was expected. At least it kept me interested and had a little tension at times.

For a show like this, as long as the tension and mystery remains (and not just stupidity of the characters leading to tense moments), it will be fine. I believe there are four episodes left. Hopefully the next two arent filler of them just hanging around talking about their past and their worries.

So the 'Governess' is a senior politician who has excellent reading of people. Aaron was in the army, or in warzones dodging bullets. The kid who got punched was in Recon in the army. And apparently there was an army that was supposed to come back but never did. And all this not far from people in another 'safe town' who were found chopped to pieces.

The Governess is owning Rick at the moment with her "help us, we're transparent" routine. Rick's not seen the real army hiding out back yet I bet. Must be what that kid's dodgy dad ("did my wife cut your hair?") does as his 'job'.

How on earth have this new group survived the zombie apocalypse? Or rather, how on earth do Mike and the gang really think this sorry lot could have survived this long?

Jessie is a bit decent.

Good episode I reckon. Like others, real intrigued about where it'll go now.

I'm a little behind but it was a great episode, it's intriguing to see which direction they will go in now, they could easily take over the estate as the new characters like Carl said "are weak".

That would be too easy, so I'm looking forward to the next episode to see what happens. At this point I really can't call what will happen.

P.S Rick looks very weird without his beard and hair, I just wish daryl would get a shower and shave too the mucky begger. If there's a chance of a warm shower then why the hell wouldn't you get one.

Another delusional society living their soap opera in the eye of tornado. I just hope the violence and decapitations will be glorious and I'm kinda disappointed in Michionne. She was always the sober one with her senses sharp as feck. She's tired now of being the huntress she always was ? ...and Daryl should stay Daryl whatever that means.

Should not watch it today while waiting time to pass till our game...had a feeling like i watching in slow motion

Yep Rick will bang the blonde, the kid will grass or someone will know about the guns going missing. That Sasha has mental issues which presumably will have its consequences, me thinks it's all leading to a group revolt again before the finale. The cast has got a whole lot bigger and everything seems hunky-dory at the minute, which usually is followed up by something disastrous for them. Did anyone spot..

The walker that had the 'w' marking on its forehead that was seen early in the episode was also in the episode when Tyrese was carried back to the car and they crashed into a truck full of them alive and amputated. Wonder what the significance of that is.

It's the first time in a while that the show has consistently started to do something different (although inevitably it's all going to have to go tits up and go through the usual cycle). But the writers seem to have finally started to grasp how to balance the character development and tension, so it's more than just Eastenders with zombies.

I'm awaiting the pending twist with Alexandria - it just seems to have really slowed down and I can't see where they'll end up going with it.

I was assuming that the twist was that, having spent their lives being screwed over by people who pretend to be decent but are as messed up as f*ck, that Rick and his posse were now going to do exactly the same. Although, of course, something is still going to have to kick that all off.

I guess you're right. Hadn't looked at it, but now rick and Co are the bad guys looking to take over the fortunate position the residents of alexandria find themselves in.

Kind of brings the whole comic book theme of die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain...

I refuse to believe Alexandria were 'fortunate' to have survived not only zombies (which isn't difficult with walls) but mainly other groups of humans. Specially humans.

All that with no visible fighting force inside or even a manned watchtower ffs. There's so obviously a secret/hidden base nearby which is looking after the town. Which US politician would start up a community without an army?

I think it's a shame if they do go that route. Because it's a more interesting concept that these people have just had pure dumb luck, because why shouldn't they? It makes their circumstances and response to the 'events' unique and story-worthy. The moment there are hidden bases etc involved then it does just become same old same old that we've seen in pretty much every season.

Dumbstar's right. If that was a good old Governor he would probably have a tank cannon already installed on that watchtower. Look how these brainwashed 'citizens' are unaware what's happening just outside their society. Last scene when Rick's standing almost face to face with a walker behind a wall said a lot.

Some nice utopian propaganda going on there by a state senator. In case of a bigger shit hitting the fan every state can organize itself perhaps even also from the military side so that idea may so far stay on the menu.

All predictions aside, the show is finally going somewhere and the governing lady is quite awesome character.

Agreed, glad the show looks to be going somewhere. Ive liked the last three eps. I dont care about some of the characters still, but at least its not a whole episode dedicated to them just to kill them off.

I assume Rick will kill the blondes husband, though he will probably be an abuser to stop Rick being a full on villian.
Also Carol has had the best character evolution out of all.

Just saw the latest episode. The Carol scene when she made the boy shit his pants was brilliant but I can't help but miss Rick's furry beard :(

How do they have electricity? I don't really know how electricity works tbh so sorry if its a stupid question but wouldn't they need some sort of power plant to be producing the electricity?

Governor used solar panels in his village. The senator may have something like a set of backup generators at his disposal in case of a war, perhaps even the big stuff like hydro-electric hoover dam or any device operating on kinetic energy but that again brings us back to a theory that there are more people out there providing all the goods for the settlement.

Back up generators will probably suffice one, maybe two years, dependable how many people really live there and senator sounded pretty confident that Rick's youngest child will witness the final rise of the society for years to come.

Also U.S. always had something like a net of underground shelters with tunnels in case of a nuclear holocaust. Plenty of space there to store pretty much everything, not only food, water and medical supplies...

Carl only had one line, and that was when he was talking to his pals in the distance, yet it still made me cringe. Horrible, horrible actor.

And get a haircut.

Have enjoyed the last two episodes, has been quite different and a lot more focused on the main characters we enjoy.

I think something will happen where they turn on Carol (again.) They set it up on the recent episode so pretty much everyone is now happy with their surroundings except her and Sasha.

It annoys me how he wears that hat still! He seems a bit old to be wearing his dads clothes. He is an awful actor though, just sounds like he's reading straight from a script all the time.

People thought that was a good episode

 @ this Brady Bunch town completely oblivious to the apocalypse outside their own gated walls. Ludicrous

I enjoyed the little Real Housewives of Alexandria scenes where a group of women talked about bollocks domestic issues and a book club.

I think it depends on the pay off. If there's a hidden secret (and let's face it, there's going to be), then it could all make sense and with hind sight these could be decent set up episodes. Knowing these writers though, I doubt it.

As for Carl, I always thought he was being built up to something. I think they might have backed off when he grew up a little and they realised even for TWD he is a terrible actor far from ever capable of taking the lead.

The bird who leads the town briefly explained it all to Rick. It is an eco-town setup where they have renewable energy and eco sewage management etc.

That's what people would say isn't it?

Perhaps they could say

"No guns, knives, explosives or incendiary devices, scissors, nail clippers or liquids above 100ml"
