Television The Walking Dead

Yup, was saying to my wife throughout the episode that he will stay alive because this is the most screen time he's ever got. What's the point developing his character so much just to kill him off? Had to be given an 'I told you so' by her when he did die. They did the same with Beth. And Governor. Stop doing centric episodes of cast members only to kill them off immediately. Makes watching the show frustrating.

The show needs a villain. For me the show has been terrible since that awesome mid season finale when the Governor invades the prison. Not sure where the show is going, but I don't watch many shows week by week so going to persist. At least until the end of season 5 that is.

I think its because they realise their characters have terrible development, which is true. But unfortunately tacking on 40 minutes of a storyline just to immediately kill them doesn't solve that.

Its just slightly more of an effort to make a character's death mean something. It never works for me, but we do see several posters upset when a character dies so it works to get some people to care about them

I think the issue this show has is it is always going to be forced to appeal to the mass audience. So they're always going to have similar storylines that go in circles and characters with less layers than a lasagne. Their biggest audience is in the US where they appear to lap up any old shit and get their hand held throughout every show they watch. I'd love for a better zombie show to come across with smart characters and original situations but that would only appeal to a smaller more intelligent audience and thus they wouldn't get a budget anywhere near TWD.

Most racist show ever.

:lol:At one point of the episode, there were more black people than white people in screen... Black Mamba, T-Dawg and the kid from Everybody hate Chris.

At that moment i was absolute sure one of them was gonna get killed in the episode. I even told my brother. But i though it was gonna be Chris.

Shit episode overall... it could have started with the ending, instead of create a stupid plot to kill T-Dawg, in the most stupid of ways.

Nice to see some sanity in here. Have been reading reviews on Rotten Tomatoes which have been consistently praiseworthy (100% positive reviews) most of which lapped up the pointless directing and editing. I thought I had seen a different show.

I didn't hate it. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it. It might just be because it's been gone for a while, and I enjoy watching it even when I don't particularly care for certain episodes or storylines.

Yep. And Z Nation is a lower budget joke with much the same problem.

Latest TWD episode was better than most of the filler episodes, but that's not saying much.

RiP Tdawg 3.0, you will be missed, long live tdawg0.5, I'm not sure 4.0 is long for this world and I prefer him.

I thought the scene in the car where he sees dead people was dope. Decision to just go straight to Washington will probably benefit the show... hopefully.

I'm really struggling to keep watching this, I'm starting to think it's gone on a season or two longer than it should have.

Even when she's dead, Beth is still singing pointlessly for no reason whatsoever.

A lot of people seem to have liked the first episode but I just watched it and thought it was dull tbh.
The dream sequence/flashback went on forever and was boring. Very little happened ultimately. Seems like a waste of a half-decent character.
Are people serious about the racist thing? The sword woman (can never remember her name) has always been one of the best characters.

One of the best characters and you cant remember her name. Sums it up lol.

I can't remember redneck crossbow guy's name either. Says more about my fading memory!

To be fair, bar Rick and at a push 'crossbow guy', would the loss of any other character really matter? I'd be surprised if most people were unmoved by the latest T-Dawgs death, just as they wouldn't be by most of the others.

Daryl's boring now anyway and his slightly-more-than-friendship with Carol is a little bit weird.

Out of everyone I think only Rick's death would matter to me.

Carl's death would matter, for it would kick off three weeks of fireworks and partying.

Shite episode.........until....

The clean shaven, freshly showered stranger shows up which we all know is bad news for the group......did Maggie even try to start the car or are we just to assume she did before checking the trunk? Apparently TDawg 3.0 sister is an angry badass now.

I'd be sad if Maggie died purely because she's gorgeous.

The rest of them can sod off. Rick is fecking useless and I hope his son gets bit just cause, mardy little shit.

Shes okay looking but my first choice in that group would be that Hispanic broad that wears the camo hat.

What the feck was that? I wake up at 7am to watch, only to find out that it was absolute crap until the last 90 seconds of the episode!

ffs

Lets have an episode with 20 minutes of drumming it in to the audience that the group are starving and cant find any food. Then lets have a pack of dogs just happen to walk up to the group and have them all die, so that the group can eat.

Next lets have the group worry about saving water, only for it to instantly rain when they need it.

Have they given up pretending to try?

Was on my ps4 the whole time during that episode, so I probably missed stuff, but is this what pretty much happened?
  • Pointless walking around in front of a bunch of zombies
  • bit of pointless chat
  • zombie dogs that got shot right away
  • bad weather and a lot of grunting
  • random guy comes at the end
Everything just seemed so random and unnecessary in that episode, more so then usual. Maybe because I didn't focus on it much so it didn't really flow properly.

 They were Zombie Dogs?

That was a shite episode. And I'm a long time defender of TWD, but they just took the piss with that. 'Oooh we're thirsty' x30

That was a good one.

They don't really deal with the lack of resources as much as they should on the show, i don't recall seeing them close to starving before, which in those circumstances should be happening more often than not.

Such a boring episode. I wonder how the hell people binge watch this? There's way too many filler episodes for my liking.

Anticipating @Kostur's reaction. :D

Yea it's boring as feck, I presume that this clean-shaven Irish-sounding guy at the end is friend of Morgan because we haven't seen his pretty face for a couple of episodes now. Next 2-3 episodes they'll be arguing 'GO WITH HIM OR NOT' which will probably end up with somebody dieing from something incredibly stupid.

Also, first episode in what, 5 seasons where they're basically dieing from thirst? Come on. And where did this pack of fecking dogs come from? They've managed to avoid zombies for so long? What were they, dogs on roids? Why would they even come to them. 'Oh God give us our daily dogs'?

  You have to give the walking dead writers so much credit. They manage to put on 39 minutes of nothing actually happening, then a hook for the next episode in the last 30 or so seconds.

Not only that, but its the same thing every ep / season. Somebody dies in the opening ep or midseason finale or midseason return or actual finale. Next episode has somebody affected because of it and they either want to give up on life, or are now suddenly badass and want to kill / shoot every zombie they see (or this episode we got both of that). Then they come to their sense at the end nicely in time for the ep to end.
In time they after a death they introduce a few more characters to increase the numbers again.

And somehow the ratings keep going up. haha

The episode was fine without being overly eventful

The worst moment was when crossbow guy tried to act

Maggie is nice. Just watched it now. Am amazed no-one is querying the magical thunderstorm that flattened all the trees, impaling the zombies.
As for those crying racism, there are multiple black (and Latino) characters. It's meant to be a random cross-section of society not Dawn of the Cosby Show.

Don't forget that the thunderstorm got the toy to start working at the end as it did.

It must be difficult for the writers though....it was an awful episode and it was based on the fact they were starving so if they constantly played up to them being hungry we'd get more of these episodes where nothing happens but them complaining, it was pretty tedious to watch so I'd be happy if they never mentioned being hungry again.

I don't mind filler episodes, every TV show has them, the Walking Dead ones are just poor to watch though. For me it's because they have failed to generate any real interest in any characters on the show, if there was actual interest in the characters last night might of been good.

Also did anyone think of this when Rick mentioned being the Walking Dead?:

The writers just can't do character development or interactions at all. It would be much better if they spent the budget on action sequences and just removed all of the filler. Make it ten shows a season even.
