If you think he is shite then explain to me why, I stand by my opinion that he is in the top 5 in the world, don't tell me he plays to many 50 yard passes, it is called penetration, something we haven't been doing this season!
 
If you still need people explain to you why he is shite, you just don't know much about football.

Okay, I'll give you some hints from the start. Go to try finding out how many goals/assists he made in the EPL since he joined us. Also go to find out how many times he was substituted during a league match this season.
 
can't you see he has more class than most in the EPL. Class is permanent, form is temporary
 
Or go check how many goals, assists and mom performances he has gotten in Europe this season.
Or what % of succesful passes he has in Europe (nr 1 in Europe for those uninformed).

Compare his performances with any of our midfielders this season and youll find that only Scholes has bettered him. But hes foreign and expensive so lets blamb him for everything.

No, I simply can't accept any player who can ONLY perform in Europe. PL is our bread and butter, and there are 38 league matches a season (compare with 17 CL at most). By no mean is it acceptable for a player who earn the second highest wage in our team yet can only perform in some of the mid-week games in a season.

Is it acceptable for the rest of them to underperform?
Name me the midfielders that have earned their money better than Veron this season?

Of course, he has may be four to five good games a season in EPL. But that's certainly not enough.

Giggs may be the only player who has been underperforming more than Veron in these one and a half season. For other players, they all had bad periods, but at least they could perform somewhere near their standard in at least half of their games. However in case of Veron, he is just two different person in PL and CL. Fergie must drop him and return Scholes in midfield in EPL. It is just a crime for continue to playing our best midfielder out of position in order to accomdate a prima donna who can only perform in may be 10% of the league matches.

Last season Keane outshone all our midfielders.
This season Veron & Scholes have been our best midfielders imo.

You cant say which of the 4 should play, i depends on
the opposition,
whats at stake ie away goals, three points (or even 6), a must win scenario etc
form,
whos fit,
who could be rested,
suspensions,
etc
etc
etc

theyll all get plenty of games. May the best man win

Veron ISN'T shite. He is a world class player. However, Veron's quality isn't the issue, it's whether he can fit in with United's style of play in the English Premier League and so far, it's patently obvious that he doesn't. As I wrote in another post, today's match was the perfect example of how differently United play when Veron isn't in the team. This doesn't make Veron a bad player, but it possibly makes him unsuitable for the EPL.

There is also a secondary issue in that Scholes plays far better in central midfield - he really is unsuitable for the hole, or should I say, he's more effective in central midfield. However, you really can't play a midfield with both Veron and Scholes - you either play a 4-5-1 with both and Scholsey in the hole or a 4-4-2 without Veron. In Europe, the 4-5-1 is perfect and Veron has been very good for us (I think this is pretty much universally accepted!) but in the EPL, his game slows us down too much and the 4-5-1 system makes us slow and uncreative. This is why the Veron situation is a dilemma, but let me re-iterate, it DOESN'T make him a bad player.

Problem is, too often he uses the long ball when forwards are heavily defended. Makes it kind of a lottery with the better odds for the defenders (since defending a long ball is way easier than creating chances from it). It only shows his lack of ideas and confidence at the moment..

The reason the forward is so heavilly marked is cos there is only one of them
 
Why doesn't Veron try making short precise passes and only sometimes those long ones, one a counter attack or something. Surely, he should be able to do that?

What's the relation with it? I'm not a professional footballer. I just play football occasionally as leisure. But even some ex-footballers or managers agree that Veron is not performing in United.

Dont call people who dont agree with you muppets though.

A muppet is (for example) somebody who wants to sell off half of the squad, or sack SAF.

Some people have viable arguments against Verón. I do not agee with them, but they are not muppets.

Yes, because we won against the Barcodes and we had our best overall display in EPL this season, so we really hope we can keep a winning team. And if you're bored why you're still reading this thread? ;)
