The US Open Tennis Thread

I'm joking. Hope Udomchoke will do well. As usual I hope Safin wins it. Djokovic Vs Ancic is one hell of a first round match.

Djokovic beat Roddick in the quarterfinal, Nadal in the semifinal and then Federer in the final in this years Montreal Masters tournament a couple of weeks ago. All in three days.

Ancic won't play by the way.

An Aussie lad named Jones. He's lost the second set but is up a break in the third.

And our Tim saw it home winning out 6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4

Produced some quality serve and volley tennis too, like from a few years back.

In the past Tursunov has had his measure, but not today.

:)

Safin lost. Djokovic leading 3-2 in the decider. Earlier Blake needed 5 sets to advance.

Djokovic wins.

This is probably the best game of this year.

A magnificent display by the two greatest showmen in todays tennis.

Hold your horses there Batman, it was good but not that good!

For me it was the best game of this year so far based on these reasons.

Five set match.

Great gameplay, lots of good points and the fact that there were a lot more winners than unforced errors confirms this.

The crowd really got into it.

Djokovic and Stepanek are the funniest guys on the tour and they are great showmen.

Fantastic match overall.

This is just my opinion of course.

spot on, mate, spot on

I also like Djokovic because he's maybe the only tennis player that acknowledges great moves and applauds his opponents. Roddick used to do it, but not anymore, he's much more serious than 3-4 years ago when he was number 1. I hope Novak never changes, he's a really great showman, Stepanek as well. They used to play doubles together, but I never watched them
