Alright I am back finally, but I doubt there's much needed to be said about Nedved. European Championships were very kind to him and his career. It was actually after his fantastic performances in the 1996 version that attracted all the attention and triggered his move to Serie A, to the club Lazio. He broke out as an all action midfielder during that tournament, showing how much he's capable of providing both offensively and defensively. Specially his performance in the semi final against France, where he was named man of the match. His presence provides a lot of balance to any team. Czech Republic reached the final and he was instrumental in that.

He was key in the 2004 version as well, providing performances such as this where he drove his team back from a 2-0 deficit after 90 minutes to win the game 3-2, with him being voted man of the match again. He had to go off injured in the semi final in the first half, and Czechs got eliminated in that game. He was named in the team of the tournament of this one, but not in the 96 one, which I believe was mainly due to him missing the quarter final.

So I guess a couple of match winning performances in crucial matches and given he comes from a nation that has a relatively thinner pool, I am glad that I managed to pick him. Not that I am not sad about missing out on Sindelar, but that's got a lot to do with him being pre-66. Plus the role I'd give to Pavel, he's perfect for it.
