I know that a lot of politicians have flaws (some quite big ones) but I can’t remember one this stupid. Bush Jnr was stupid at times but it felt like “at times”, whereas Trump would struggle to pass the tests given to junior school kids.

Who has zero experience in this. Trump has a naturally immunity, I’m not certain that anyone else has the ability to brush off like he does and I’m not sure he gets away with nor unites like Trump can.

I would like to think that. European countries need to try and get as independent from the US as possible. We cannot assume Trump is an outlier.
The problem is it would be good if this was just a crazy phase and things could be recovered in the medium to long term. By isolating the United States you’re going to amp up the crazy. As their economy suffers, the poor places get poorer and become even more third world and disconnected and they Republicans will use the them vs us attitude.
As they become more isolated, they answer have fewer people to answer to. That’s when minorities are in real danger. No press to report on it and if they do, there’s nobody that cares, or is worse it’s the police or whatever other force that is carrying out the attacks.
I honestly don’t think this is a stretch and I don’t think we’re that many years from it.

The only upside is that she won’t struggle to find work elsewhere, imagine the amount of people now being deported, without reason, that don’t have a safety net in terms of higher education that can see them land jobs pretty much wherever they want.
I am torn between wanting that country to implode and care for well minded Americans. I also have two sisters there.

There will come a point where all but the most indoctrinated will begin to get pissed off with it all. You just have to hope there is enough semblance of democracy left at that point for what has been lost to be recovered.
This is how people get their "info" nowadays. The likes of Rogan have so much pull. A lot of people prefer to listen to a podcast, and get all their junk from there. Dems haven't figured out that advertising on the main networks is not the way to spend money anymore.
To be fair I don't know why the likes of Noah, Rogan, Carlson have as many listeners as they do. We want to be informed, but we are too lazy to do our own thinking and research ourselves.

Some names there I can understand will appeal to certain audiences. But Ben Shapiro, really.
It's the likes of Russell Brand, Matt Walsh and Jordan Peterson (in his current state) that are really puzzling to me. I just don't see how anyone find them appealing.
With Peterson it seems mostly about "self improvement".
