The Trump Presidency - Part 2

Your definition of work might be different to mine, and I sleep in my office as well, definitely don't have his $$$$ though
Obviously I was joking. He likes to portray himself as an extremely hard working individual but I don't think he's one.

You need context, this particular poster has a history of posting comments on multiple topics that have no shades of grey, it's either this or that, either good or bad, no middle ground, doesn't mean he's right or wrong, just very rigid

The context was that people were wishing physical harm on very vulnerable people based on who they voted for, this user disagreeing, and you taking umbrage with that disagreement instead of the people deriving pleasure from the thought of an 18 year old Trump voter bleeding out from a botched attempt at an abortion.

Apparently he does "work" extremely long hours,

Friend of mine was Director of Infrastructure at Tesla in CA and said that Elon Musk would personally be at the Tesla Sites most days of the week for 14 hours+ at a time, and could be quite micro-managey.

A lot of people are hoping they suffer the consequeces of their actions, not in a physical sense, but financially, when they realise they aren't better off, indeed the reverse if Trump follows thru on what he promised them
Here's some context, no one is advocating what you suggest (that I have seen) and if I saw such a post I would advocate for a banning because such a view has no place in here

So pretty much going as we expected so far. This is what America voted for, so we should respect it!

The Elon Musk doge stuff is ripe for corruption of historic standards. And the department of education stuff spells a real long term problem for the next generations.

I’m actually somewhat surprised as I had thought that he was going to do almost none of the things he had promised to do. It seems that this time around he’s at least going to try to follow through on everything he said.

Tariffs are going to be pretty horrible for their economy too. Looking forward to see how this will unfold.

Trump: I'll do horrible stuff
Random people: He really doesnt mean it
Trump: *does the horrible stuff he promised*
Random people: :o

That has been always the case and a significant reason why his followers stuck with him since 16.

As a Pakistani, i feel we ought to own that term, and replace the first K with a P. The rest is perfect.
Your post makes me remember an important point of the Trump presidency to parts of the rest of the world: the potential weakening of America itself aside: don't think for a second bad actors around the world aren't loving his existence for the sheer distraction he provides. Even many people of other countries will be focused on what he does - meanwhile their own leaders can fly under the radar.

While Pete Hagseth has some military experience which Trump supporters are saying, it pales into comparison to the multi star Generals previously appointed.
The jokes over on the Army subreddit I saw yesterday are that a Major (and he's National Guard, not Active Duty) at the Pentagon is usually an assistant coffee getter to the Colonels that are the primary coffee getters.

A sec def with junior officer military background is going to go down swimmingly with the Pentagon. Nothing they love more than presidents messing with their hierarchy.

No, that's not the context, that was your justification after the fact. People were specifically talking about abortion and deportation.

Sec Def is a political appointment it's actually more common to not be a former officer. Trump of course changed that with his weird obsession with generals but before it was rather unusual.

That does not mean that a network tv host is qualified for this position.

Yeah, like Noem at DHS, this guy will be shown what it's like to be thrown in the meat grinder. I don't either will be ready for the machines they ll face. Even if they stay longer than expected, divisions and agencies on either side will not cooperate willingly.

Well yes, but then they have pretty extensive experience from within the DOD, intelligence or significant political experience from comittees. A junior officer talk show host who presents himself as "part of the military" going into the role of sec def and then clearly not in the role of "civilian oversight", is just the worst from both worlds.

I agree, I actually had edited my post .

Tariffs are going to be horrible for other countries economies as well, especially ones that export to the US or import US stuff because there will be retaliation

They’re gonna make sure the younger generations are more radical and extremist
