The Trump Presidency - Part 2

Genuinely considering not working for this shit-show of a country any longer. What makes US any better than CCP at this point?

So many leopards. they always meant for others to be shafted, not their precious daughters and sons. Obviously her daughter is not DEI, only other daughters. Me likes a bit of Schadenfreude

Rumours are that Senate and House are negotiating for a 106 Billion USD Increase in the Defense Budget Cap so that it may reach 1 trillion USD by 2027.

Interesting, a bit different to all the other cuts in the other departments.
Despite Trump’s own lean to reduce defence spending massively YoY for the rest of his term.

If there’s one group that’ll kick back on Trump, and win, it’s the military industrial complex. The only real “deep state” entity in the US. He comes for their money, they’ll come for him.

I do wonder if the next step is to rehire people who voted for or whose family voted for Trump. It would be absolutely insane of course but at this pt who even knows anymore what all data they have access to.

Maybe, though I doubt it. Musk and DOGEstapo are treating the government like twitter. Slash costs because Musk thinks that everybody slacks and can be cost efficient. I don't disagree to a degree. Public bureaucratic jobs, at least in Spain is frankly a shitshow of working little, for a more than average salary and very secure to the point that you can't get fired even if you suck at your job. But as I don't want to be unemployed, I don't wish that for anyone and also, not everybody is like this, so in the end, many innocent will pay the price. Also, clearing the government corruption, payments from lobbies and conflicts of interests costs the taxpayers more than what they are doing

Also, several of this firings has little to do with people being inefficient as public servants

Trump and his cabal don't care about the people who voted for him. And given that he can't legally run again next election, he doesn't even need their vote anymore. So unless they are useful to him/them in some other capacity, they and their families will be thrown into the meat grinder like everyone else.

he will definitely want the maga vote for the next election for whoever he picks to run

Time to get out for a lot of folk, I'd say.
Some friends in America said the same thing about leaving. Then they looked at jobs in London, Canada and a few other places. After finding out their salaries will be 1/2 or 1/3 they are staying put. Unlikely anyone qualified leaves America.

If he's not running he won't care. His ego would probably lead him to wanting whoever his replacement is to lose just so he can claim the GOP can't win without him and say that they should have done more to amend the constitution to allow him to run again.

His billionaire backers/puppet masters will spend the next few years doing as much as they can to get rid of any checks on their power and intertwined themselves into the government machinery. To the extent it won't matter who wins the next election.

you think he won't care if the dems are in charge in 28 or not?

No. I don't think he cares about that. I think he cares only about himself, not even the policies he is signing. I think he just wanted to WIN the presidency and be interviewed all the time. And to golf. He is a puppet, a facade and a willing one.

If he beat Biden in 2020, I don't think he'd have given a shit who won the last one. Trump isn't an ideological conservative or party loyalist.

I'm not suggesting Trump is some party loyalist who gives a shit

I'm suggesting he won't want the headache of democrats going after him for all the dodgy shit he's doing

another maga win and he can rest easy

That's gone now. The one thing he was convicted for has amounted to no punishment at all. The others have been dismissed apart from the Georgia case, which will get dropped soon.

I guess you have already discussed it, but I've just seen a video of Trump openly and publicly threatening a governor. This is going to get very, very ugly. I'm not sure I'm in a position, in terms of mental health, in which I can afford to keep up to date with what's going to happen in the US. It's just so unbearably sad that Trump's cruelness is so popular, and not only in the US.

I’ve stopped watching the clips of Trump, Musk and Vance. Can’t stand listening to these arrogant, ignorant, evil cnuts anymore. It’s amazing how America have put the ugliest souls on the planet in power.

The text of the resolution, where the Russia is not an aggressor and where the war is called a "conflict", was sent to UN members by the US.

Can these go any lower?

I just laugh out loud when I see tweets like these. Schadenfreude tastes even sweeter in the morning.

What's stunning for me is that those who supported Trump are not actually inclined to backtrack on their support at all. Pretty much anyone that I know who I had known to like Trump before that I have spoken with since Jan 20 is very happy with his work so far, and most of them are impressed with the job Musk has done as well. Basically these people seem to have no perspective at all. Spoke with my co-worker the other day and he was banging on about how Musk is going to save the US and lay out a template for other countries to follow.

Those who are still on the Trump train are never going to back down now - they'll lose face too much.

Yeah. The best I could get from one of them is admitting he doesn't really know much about internal US politics and that Trump/Musk might not be right about everything, but at least they've put a stop to the harmful leftist agenda.

Tell them that the eggs are slightly cheaper in London. That should convince a few million.
