If the aim is to suspend democracy “because times are difficult” and we cannot be slow in action and reaction, that’s a trick they are employing with purpose to me.
That's exactly what's happening. Trump has max 2 years before people start turning attention to primaries and succession - he needs this year to be an absolute mess so that he can suspend that.
The thing to remember though is to stay positive. Things may be bad now, but they're not as bad as they're about to get so let's enjoy this bad while it lasts.
