The Transfer Deadline Day Thread / Most crazy ever?

Fuming. We are such a joke & amateurs at work I tell you.

HUGELY disappointed if we do not pull this off.

BBC saying the papers have already gone with Ozil on their back pages....I really really hope it falls through now

I don't even know who Herrera is and what his skills are, but the fact we went in big for him and failed is beyond frustrating.

The Fellaini thing is the biggest joke though.

Scrabbling around for him at the last minute when we had 3months to pluck him at will.

The café breaking down is almost as annoying too

Arsenal get Ozil, United get Fellaini.

Depressing, that.

As devilish called it, we are tier two players at the moment when it comes to transfers. The worrying thing, is it doesn't take long for these trends to develop. I believe top players will continue to want to join Chelsea and perhaps now Arsenal, while sagas like this will put people off wanting to come here. The offset is that, if we do actually want top players, we will probably need to over pay more.

I was thinking when everyone was doing their Thiago equations and concluding he was destined to pick us over Bayern basically because Bayern have a long list of amazing players, wheras here, he will compete with Cleverley and Jones - why would top players want to compete with them? Our 30million cap will cripple us.

We couldn't even lure Everton players. fecking disgraceful from the club.

Good luck to us signing world class talent in the future. Bloody useless pricks on the board.

Woody: Dave! Did you jam the fax machine?

Dave: Not me gov, that was Steve and Phil, they were playing with it earlier.

Sir Alex: It is with no regret that i must tell you all, you're fired.

Fax? Slow down. We'll mail a letter thank you very much. And use standard post, none of that fancy express delivery crap.

On a side note why is it that clubs piss around at the last possible minute? I mean this is a multi-million pound industry and you get these pathetically amateurish last minute bids.

I thought there was some kind of technical business reasoning to it but Dave Whelan pretty much came on the radio and said he doesn't understand it either.

Everton have done pretty well. Lukaku is exactly what they need. They need goals and he'll give it to them.

And they've fleeced us for Fellaini as well.

Hopefully the McCarthy deal goes through. Could be a very good window by us if it does.

Class! We should have like 10 million plus to use in January.

Oh, 27.5m for Fellaini and 6m for Anichebe. Our negotiators deserve a fecking pay rise.

This. Kneejerk bids. I think the strategy works when clubs are desperate to offload players, but not in case of Fellaini or Ozil. I think both us & Arsenal got fleeced.

Is having awful hair a pre-requisite for being Palace chairman?

It's real life mate in ££M deals, they always feck about.

That was a mental last day. I enjoyed it on the whole tbh. Utterly surreal and good entertainment on the whole, we've been having a good laugh since 7pm on skype

Why the feck did we move on Lukaku? Are we really going to rely on Eto Torres and Ba. Some answering needs to be done or we are in trouble.

Surely Jose cant be responsible for that, its madness, hes a much better option than Ba or Torres. We're fecked in the striking department tbf.

Lukaku, as it currently stands, is one of the most overrated players in the league. Seriously.

He's still incredibly raw and will benefit hugely from going on loan again. I speak from watching him both home and away for WBA last season.
