(The Times) Arsenal's Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil want to leave

I hope we at least try for Alexis. As a player, I see Rashford becoming a Alexis/Tevez type of forward so, along with just having another top player at the club, he'd be great for Marcus to learn from.

Sanchez does his little gestures and his little things when things dont go well, but thats because he is a winner. He is frustrated with his team at times and with himself, but i dont see that as a bad thing or attitude problems. Özil on the other hand is lazy and seems to not give a feck on the pitch.

Which times are these? I don't recollect him ever really giving up on the pitch. He always eggs his teammates on.
He's worse for going missing, yea, Sanchez it's his little hissy fits and strops that would bug the shit out of me. He seems to think he's bigger than the club. It's funny to see whilst he's at Arsenal, but I wouldn't want him near United.

Ronaldo was exactly the same when he was at United. I remember him once literally flouncing off the pitch before a substitute was ready to replace him. It was all very easy to forgive when he was scoring a goal a game, though.

I don't remember Ronaldo hiding under his coat with his head in his knees after being subbed, but you're not wrong it's a matter of degrees and bags of goals help.

If we're going to drop £40m+ on Perisic, we might as well test Arsenal with £50m, and see where we land. I can't see us losing anything by trying, and we'd defo be more willing to meet a high asking price than Bayern or Juve.
feck it, make it £60m!!

At Arsenal, there's only him who actually tries and cares though. I think it would be a lot different here. Also Mourinho wouldn't take his shit imo. Can't believe you wouldn't want one of the best players in the league here! :wenger:

I don't think you can ever question his commitment on the pitch

How the hell would they fit him in their attack? They're already overstocked.

Exactly. They'll already have to bench at least one of De Bruyne, David Silva, Sterling and Sane to fit in Bernando Silva, one of Jesus or Aguero benched, Sanchez adds another head ache (although a good one to have).

Unless Pep goes for a drastically different formation, I can't see where they are going with their squad.

They already have too many attackers to fit in as it is.

Yeah that's true but from what I read from reliable City sources Pep is a big admirer and Sanchez did play arguably his best football under Pep at Barca so the transfer makes sense to me. I think Pep will fit him in some how maybe he'll play Sanchez as a striker but I hope I'm wrong because I think he would be great at United.

Don't think it works that way. The best way players learn, is by actually playing. Which Marcus would do a lot less of if we were to sign Sanchez. Rashford was supposed to 'learn' from Ibra too. There is no evidence that he has become a better striker compared to last year.

I'd love Sanchez at United but if they get rid of Aguero and bring in sanchez I wouldn't consider it as a City upgrade.

People second guessing Sanchez's quality? He is fantastic, he would be a great player for anyone in the premier league. Hope he goes abroad if we have no change of getting him, would hate to see him at Chelsea/City.

Only thing I would worry about Sanchez is will he burn out quickly? His all action style will be hard to keep up for years, but he seems the dedicated type who is a good professional. More importantly as others say he is a WINNER.

He should be our next 10 IMO.

Sanchez has been better for Arsenal than he ever was for Barca. He was such a let down during his last season there

I would love Sanchez at United. Sadly it will never happen, but my god what a fecking player he is.

I just don't get this, why would it never happen, he's been linked a lot to city, what's the difference between us and them?

you can't question it. Sanchez carries Arsenal on his back single handedly at times. I dont get the impression he watches many Arsenal games.

Sanchez hasnt been given his plaudits in the media for the last 6 months but hes been superb on the pitch even after Wenger tried to quasi drop him around that city game. Wenger realised he just can't drop him because he's alwsys delivering on the pitch and the fans and pundits will criticize him for it.

I actually think, when played up front, Marcus has looked better than last year despite the lack of goals. He looks more comfortable in the way he carries the ball anyway. This is just my opinion of course.

I agree that the best way to learn is to play, but it wouldn't hurt playing beside and learning from a top player in Alexis. Especially when, in my opinion, I see Rashford becoming a similar type of forward. I know we have no evidence that Marcus has learnt from Zlatan but Marcus himself claims he's learnt a lot from him (& Rooney). Whether we see what he's learnt incorporated into his game sooner rather than later is anyones guess.

I wouldn't be too worried about Rashford's game time anyway as José seems to really like him.

Sanchez is a winner, bring him in.

Wasn't Sanchez frozen-ish out at Barca under Guardiola because they had too many attackers and Pep favoured them over Sanchez. In fact it broke the camel's back and forced Alexis' hand to leave. Bayern is probably his best option.

Sunderland 2009. Pissed me off at the time as we were drawing. Turned out after the match he was injured. Think that was the match Vidic scored a last minute winner and did a ridiculous arm swinging celebration

I remember that match mainly because we actually had Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov all on the pitch at the same time! Albeit only for a few mins before Cristiano had to hobble off.

Sanchez left Barca two years after Pep. I'm not understanding you. Maybe i've forgotten something that happened when they were both at the club.

Sanchez has said he likes London and wants a club that can challenge, so not sure why he'd head from a 5th place side currently to a 6th, add the fact we havent put in a title challenge going on 4 years now.
Presume he wants Chelsea/City or Bayern, being realistic.

I see zero rumors for Ozil though?

Out of the two I really think Ozil has no market out there.
I meant, I actually think Sanchez wouldn't mind staying at Arsenal. Seems to be the focal point there and he wouldn't be the "main" star at another club.
Ozil, I think would easily leave if an opportunity arose, where to is yet to be seen!

Bayern is the most obvious destination, then City and then Chelsea. Quite simply i dont see Arsenal selling to an English rival and surely not Chelsea. He seems also happy to go to Bayern

People are deluding themselves if they think Wenger will sell to United again especially with mourinho in charge

Take that £40 million Perisic fee and slap on another £20 million and get Sanchez in.

Or just sign him on for HUGE wages next season.

This transfer makes sense to me. Do it Ed.
