I'm actually dreading this round more than any of the previous. Seems like if we don't get a pass in 1st attempt we'll just be picking our own sheep.

Yeah, same here. It's really impossible to do the "theme" thing in a sheep draft. I tried for a few rounds, but it's pretty much impossible, I reckon. Just trying to avoid sheep now, really, but even that isn't something you can do actively in this round without taking the piss. Down to luck now, pretty much.

This round is essentially pure luck. There are couple of world cups which most people will go with and with 16 managers to pick there will be quite few blocks. Very limited pool for either going safe or going for top pick. It's really the same. Not to mention that some players scored/missed in different tournaments as well so that's making it even harder.
You know when you write or read the same word over and over again, and it loses all meaning and looks like a jumble of letters. That's what I feel with the word 'fail' here.

If you have failed both of your picks, your next two picks can be from another shootout, but both must be from the same shootout following the same goalscoring/missing penalty pattern (i.e. you cannot choose one player from a QF shootout and another from a SF shootout). Only once there are no eligible picks left will you have an opportunity to choose from another tournament.

fecking hell. All sticking to 1998? Didn't you saw 1990 and all?
I think everyone saw the GOATs in the other rounds, but the pool was fairly abysmal in most cases if you got blocked. 1998 was about the only with a solid enough pool and it shows really. The others were simply too risky.
I thought 1990 was a better pool to be fair hence going with 1998... How wrong was that...

Basically if you have failed both your picks, you cannot choose one player from the QF between Italy and France and the other player from the SF between Holland and Brazil. They need to both be from the same game.

if the missed options are spent(5 available) and we're 12(Twelve, TWELVE!) manager to pick from what happens in round 3 when all of those are blocked? Probably there will be scorers that will be left for picking but not missed ones?

Means you're stuck in the same match. You have to choose the one remaining/eligible player who missed his penalty - and one out of the two remaining/eligible players who scored.
If all missed players are blocked in the second round, you will be free to choose a missed player from another tournament. That's only if all missed players are blocked...
Sorry Chester - that needs to be clearer. If you have failed both of your picks - you can choose another shootout from the same WC. I'll update the post above.
What? It looks like the exact opposite from what was posted above. I just sent in a pick based on the assumption you had to remain in the same shootout.
