Why don't Saints just kicked it over the posts for 3 points. At this rate they'll get turned over.
You have to move the ball 10 yards forward every four plays or else you lose the ball. Typically they kick the ball away on the fourth play rather than just let the other team have it where it is.

Except in Canada where it's three plays.
They will do that in their last attempt. Before that its better to try for a touch down which typically gives 7 pts.
