Television The Sopranos

I have never seen it but have downloaded it all for the future. I will watch it after The Wire, which I will watch after all the other stuff I have on my HDD.
I think I have an idea of what the "other stuff" is.

You're better starting off with The Wire and The Sopranos first :)

Junior, Tony and Chris, three sensitive souls...

Season 5 was fecking brilliant.

Dr. Melfi and who else? This is killing me, the answer's right on the tip of my tongue, and won't google it gotdamn. Was Paulie in it? Arrgh.

Christaphurrrr was the bar boy who Pesci shot in the foot and the reference was him shooting the guy in the foot in the Bakery. I forget the 2nd reference I was referring to but I have a feeling it was Dr Melfi maybe discussing the movie 'Goodfellas' at dinner with her family? Whatever it was it was in the same episode as the Bakery scene.

I just started season 6 again today, this show is perfect.

The downfall of Johnny Sac makes me sad. One of my favourite characters.

Yeah if you have a good scroll through his Twitter feed he's a bit unhinged

 think I'll leave it. I love how in the show he appears at first glance to be this cool as a cucumber guy with all his nice clothes etc but as soon as you scratch the surface he's a maniac, losing all volume control.

I noticed after the third or fourth viewing that while Johnny Sack saw himself as this super smooth, classy, and above all dignified operator - he pissed Tony off at one point by claiming it was undignified to keep meeting under the GW Bridge - they kept portraying him in the most undignified light - e.g. sitting on the toilet with his trousers around his ankles having a smoke, picking his nose, the whole joke saga with his wife, the humiliation he suffered at his daughter's wedding, and finally the horrible, slow death by cancer.

One of the few scenes in the show with a bit of moral clarity:

Best final season and episode ever. So sad when you get to the end. :(

1989 interview with Tony Sirico:

1989 interview with Tony Sirico:

I watched that some while ago. It was quite interesting.

One of Tony Soprano's most memorable lines for me is "'remember when' is the lowest form of conversation". Me and my pals always reminisce about stories starting with "remember when".

Yeah, in that episode you get to see a picture of Tony Sirico from the 60s:

Also, if you're interested in a theory about why Tony is so dismissive of the photo of Johnny Boy and Junior in that scene, have a read of this if you have the time - it's a theory that hatred for his father is what drives many if not all of Tony's major actions as the show approaches the end:

Tony's Vicarious Patricide

So apparently 'Moltisanti' translates as 'many saints', so I guess Chris' Dad Dickie Moltisanti is gonna have a fair sized role in this prequel.

You all need to check out /r/thesopranos

Everyone just replies to every thread with apt quotes from the show. It's marvellous.

Weirdest dream...

Probably the best tv show I've ever seen.

Can never hear that last song again without thinking about it.

Good isn't it?
I read a thread that casually said that the actor who played the character that slept with Carmella was gay and it was full of

I dunno, fecking slander you ask me.

I had a good chuckle

Not to my knowledge, seems pretty obvious what happened all things considered.

Far from obvious. There are 2 main theories 1) the cut to black = a hit or b) the intense music etc = a realisation that life is permanent nervous time.

Shaddup or you will sleep with the fishes.

Loved the series - top 5 tv of all time - but I hated the ending. The direction was nowhere near the quality we had come to expect. Almost as if they had handed the directorial reins over to a teenaged fan. The music and stupid camera work at the end was film school standard at best.

A cop out from what?
The writers suddenly got writers block after 6 seasons?

From an actual end or if they wanted to leave us not knowing just do it with some decent direction and camera work. I don't know if the director got nervous or ???? as the standard of direction was chalk and cheese compared to the usual standard.

Sorry if its been posted already if not this is wonderfully addictive. An hour and a quarter of all the murders season 1 - 6 Do not watch for major spoilers for fecks sake if you've not seen it all.
