Gaming The SM RedCafe League

If you've paid for Gold, don't forget you can manage an International team as well. Portugal, Spain and Germany taken.

That'll be fun as well.

We should create a rule though, no switching teams if your team gets knocked out.

Awful performance by my side. maniak stuck to his word and played his kids, yet the result was just 1-0.

I was expecting to be humiliated tonight and only lost 1-0:eek:

My ratings were really por too, only Jenkinson and Varane had a 7, the rest was 5 and 6.

My XI tonight:

1 S DIMITRIEVSKI 5
2 C JENKINSON 7
3 A CHERKASOV 6
4 J TADROWSKI 6
5 R VARANE (c) 7
6 O ÖZYAKUP 6
7 J BAHEBECK 6
8 T ELHI Substituição 6
9 F HIMCINSCHI 6
10 W SILVA 6
11 A GRIMALDO 6

You really suck Damien

Say a Prem manager decided not to continue + resigned, how would a new manager be chosen? Would it be first come first serve or an application based thing?

Swansea City 1 - 0 Manchester United.

Pirlo with the only goal, the kids need to mature. Hernandez sent off, 8 shots on target to Swansea's 2. Sneijder hit the bar, Buffon also made a great save to keep us out. Swansea booked for time wasting 1 - 0 up against 10 men. :D Sneijder with MOTM.

Good game Burrow, should have really played the first team, but wanted to get the old morale up. All part of their development. Bit unlike Hernandez to get sent off though.

EDIT: maniak also lost 1 nil using his kids against the lower leagues full strength. Que FA investigation.

EDIT2: I only just noticed that Swansea have Olic, Buffon, Pirlo, Pepe and Fabiano. I should have played the first team.

I'm quite happy with that score on reflection... here were the ratings from our game. If the kids can only lose 1-0 against that team with 10 men, then that bodes well for my tactics and play style. Credit to Burrow though he bossed the possession.

Sneijder behind Messi, Hernandez got sent off.

And no not shabby at all, but hey, Burnley beat United on the opening day of the season. It's not like 2 men beat an entire team of 11! :D Burrow had Pepe and Buffon out at the back also. Pirlo in the middle.

To manage 8 shots on target against a better side man for man, I'm happy with that. That's what friendlies are for at the end of the day.

Sunderland tomorrow in the league. The first team will be out in force this time. I like the tactics I've got up.

Edit: Looks like you werent the only one to hit the woodwork in that game ;)

Fantastic response to this thread, really pleased.

I didn't tought of that, maybe we could establish some rules.

Since I took over:

Played: 7
Won: 5
Drew: 1
Lost: 1
Win percentage: 71.4%
Goals for: 17
Goals against: 5
Clean sheets: 3
Total shots: 131
Total shots on target: 70

Opponents total shots: 61
Opponents total shots on target: 24
Average possession for: 53.4%
Average possession against: 46.6%

Just 17 goals from 70 shots on target. Terrible. Very pleased with the number of chances my side creates, but furious that so few goals are scored.

I say all those interested in the job allocation make it clear in the thread. Then you have 2 choices: 1, you award the position using a random number generator or you base it on success of the managers applying. I.E. If you're a manager of a club in the relegation zone of Div2, its unlikely that a Premiership Chairmen would want you.

What tactics are you using? Too attacking and your team will shoot from anywhere, whether it's a decent opportunity or not.

That sounds good.

Interested managers should write an long application detailing why exactly they are the one who should take the club forward. Then we vote in this thread who deserves it!

Think I'm gunna ditch my 433. With that formation I've played 3, won 1 and drawn 2.

Perhaps limit the applications to managers who play in the same division or the division below (i.e. no players from division 3 applying for a division 1 team) and then use a random number generator.

Ha! Excellent... I only lost 3-2... and I spent the last 30 minutes with a Striker playing in Centre Midfield, and a Right Winger playing upfront!

Wolfswinkel was superb by the looks of things.

I've not really been that attacking. In all of the away games I've played (apart from the first one against Blackpool where I won 4-1 with 4 shots on target) I've started off as defensive then went attacking from 60 minutes onwards. Home matches I do usually go attacking, but even then my formations at times have been fairly conservative (4-2-3-1).

If a manager resigns, Game offers the job to some other manager, usually a manager with highest rating in clubs who are considered below the concerned club.

feck off... I just looked at the statistics to my match. I scored 2 goals from 11(!) attempts on target. They scored 3 goals from 3 shots on target

They also had a man sent off on 27 minutes, so basically I should have dicked them regardless of people playing out of position. Maniak, this keeper you loaned me is wank apparently!!

I don't think it's unrealistic to allow a division 2 manager to apply for a division 1 team, and division 3 team for a division 2 team, more so if the team needing a manager is towards the bottom of the league. No manager of the same division would want to take a worse team.

I'd say don't allow people to apply for teams 2 divisions above them, but 1 is reasonable. You've also got to look at how the team is doing relative to their expectations. If, say, the 8th placed team in division 1 needs a manager and the 14th placed team manager applies for it (and their team is predicted to finish top 8) and a division 2 team who are top despite their prediction to be to reach the play-offs, it'd suggest the division 2 manager is better at his job and is a more deserving successor for the job.

Are you sure?

In that case we don't need to do anything, just let the game decide.

I agree, I said same division or division below.

Yup, usually it's spot on.
Only problem is i have a rating of 199 and each time someone resigns, they will come straight for me.

I will be rejecting though and thereafter it's upto anyone of you to apply for the spot, so in a sense, you will have to decide how will you manage it.

Once again I had nineteen shots. At least this time I managed to score at least 1 goal though.

Oh and..... Diouuuuuuuuuufffffffffffff!!!

That's still a good record though RS. Surprised that the shots for and against are pretty much the same for yourself and your opponents. We all know you'll win your match tomorrow and I'll lose against Cardiff ;)

Apparently 2 keepers couldn't have saved it.

You had more possession and shots. Probably deserved to win based on stats but I never expected to dominate considering I was playing a diamond and counter attack.

And if you reject, the AI will not offer it to anyone else?

The method of selection can't take too long, otherwise after 7 days other players can go there and steal the players for ridiculously low prices.

FAO Damien.

What's your record like so far?

As soon as someone resigns, offer is made and last for 4 days i think.
If i reject, Club is without manager and no offer is made to anyone.
In this period, usually an outside member takes charge if it's a popular club.

We have to request all our members to let us know before they resign, so we can tally the performance of Top 10-15 managers.

There is a listing of top managers in this setup btw.
It is in Game world -> Overview -> Managers
And we can use that to know who has been doing well, but that will show just Top 10.

Also, the thing is, after so much efforts in transfers & squad building, not many like to leave their club.

Quoted it earlier on this page but here it is again. It's not that great to be honest:

 Mind games eh?

You know that is what will happen ;)
