Damien didnt have a deal to sign mina? He just signed him as lawnmo was touting him around. Let me rephrase that, I have a deal to sign kane from norwich after a certain condition is met. We havent discussed a fixed price yet same as the inaki, kurt, etc deal.

So now does that deal still circumvent the FFP? 'Cos its exactly the deal I have now, with the words buyback clause being replaced.

But the point is that due to the agreement of you selling Kane, it would imply therefore that nobody else has any chance of signing him as it's a buyback clause and therefore even if someone bid 30m and you bid 25m, Norwich would have to sell to you or forever be considered a cnut. So basically, you have a guaranteed 90+ rated striker transfer that you can do whenever you like (within reason). Knowing that nobody else could buy him.

First Option - Gives at least others a chance of outbidding the seller if for example his value suddenly increased to 45m and the seller didn't have the cash.
Buyback Clause - No other manager would have a chance of buying the player unless the seller decided not to buy him. I.E. he was playing shit.

So using the Buyback Clause, I could sell off loads of my 87/88's freeing up space for more players knowing that I can buy any of them back without any competition. See my point?

Also, you cant say there was no you must sell him to me involved, given how pissed you were once he didnt sell to you.

I was pissed because I was missing out on a decent player as nobody was after him and I thought I could sneak him into the club unnoticed! A Schneiderlin moment if you will! Instead Stain left and Andy quickly sold him off to you. lol.

Question, if the inaki deal was indeed a first option and not a buyback clause why were you so pissed when TS didnt sell him to you? A first option means that you match the bid made, he was under no obligation to sell him to you on his own accord.

 timing, see my above post. He was under no obligation to sell to you under a first option clause. As no one had made a bid then.

He said he would sell because he wanted the money to reinvest in more young players. He'd make a 5m profit on 1 player within a period of 3 months, hardly terrible. I was the only one to ask about him because I and Stain were the only ones to know about him at the time. Stain only knew about him because I gave him the tip too!

But that's like any signing? We had a deal to sign him (I don't even think we discussed price as he hadn't gone up in ratings at that poiunt). Just like Damien had a deal to sign Mina? I don't see the point here except that it was done secretly? I might be missing the point...

If you guys hadnt agreed a fee how would he have made a 5m profit? #ww#lynchrs#colorcodedbitch

So he had agreed to sell inaki to you in advance and "no other manager would have a chance to sign him unless you decided not to buy him"?

I'm guessing about the 5m because I was expecting him to go to 82 and not 85 and I always overpay for players.

He had agreed yes, but people can change their minds if another offer comes in. If I offered Damien Lewandowski for 50m but then Newcastle jumped in with a 60m bid, then obviously i'd go to Damien "hey look, I know we had a fee agreed but Newcastle just jumped in with a higher offer".

And then you would expect damien to hold a grudge over that signing for the next few months?

As for people changing their minds, lawnmo can just as easily choose not to sell him to me. There is nothing I can do in that case, same with big andy. Its the same hypocrisy that was shown at the time of the paco deal once you lot realized you couldnt sign him, it wasnt right for big andy to be selling players.

Anyways am off to eat, mjj out.

Eh. There was no agreement, first option/buyback whatever you want to call it re Iñaki. I'd never do these sorts of deals. I just figured since RS gave me the tip i'd sell him to RS. This was my decision, out of courtesy. I do most of my deals this way; when someone contacts me about a player i usually negotiate with them so they can get the player rather than announcing to everyone that he's available. When i was at Stoke i just wanted to improve the squad with 90+ players, slowly getting better players whilst making a healthy profit. Wasn't really bothered with youngsters.

I remember telling RS he should buy the player straight away when he made the enquiry but he wanted to wait until Iñaki had risen. This was only a few days before i took over Everton. Guess i could have sold the day before taking on Everton even though, i'm sure it was Damien who said "no deals whilst waiting to take over" or similar, that would have been wrong. Then RS hated me for a couple months, even though he should have blamed himself to some extent. You know it's true RS :p

I've also given tips to people. Telling christy about Kranevitter the best one i think, i can even remember telling Damien about him.
