Gaming The SM RedCafe League

He has more cash than that I believe but still, 70 Mil or 120, still poor business in a GW like ours. I think his deals in the MK2 league and how easy it is to get players there has clouded his judgement here. All that cash is worthless.

He'll be taken to the cleaners with all that cash anyway! Bet he pays £25m+ for Herrera.

I've been on the Google hangout with SM today. Will post a summary after lunch.

Edit: Summary of Google Hangouts with SM

1 - Match engine and player ratings will be improved as they will go hand in hand. There's no randomness to current match engine as many of you suggest but a lot of variables that affect outcome, like morale, condition, form, fitness etc. This will be simplified once player attributes are added. IE Alonso has a CB position but his defensive skills are not as good as his attacking so he won't perform well at CB. Sanchez is 94 like Costa but both won't work as well on a 4-3-3 etc.

2 - New values and wages will be optional for each custom GW already running. I've asked for all options to be optional and they'll consider it.

3 - Player caps may become optional however for some GW scouting is all there is left so they're not sure on that one.

4 - 14 day sign in minimum or lose your club. I suggested extended holiday mode to be allowed twice a year and they agreed to it.

5 - Stadium expansion up to a certain limit for smaller successful clubs. Nothing for bigger clubs. I suggested chairman manages this automatically depending on success rather then clubs paying for it and it was half agreed on.

6 - UI changes which will make it more like SM2015.

7 - Transfers caps will be optionally lifted/increased so it won't be limited to 3 with the same club per season.

8 - I asked for all season messages to be kept in an archive once they expire from the feed and they really liked the idea.

9 - I asked if it was possible to kick people out of GW and they said if enough people complain to SM it will be investigated and kicked out so if we have enough of Damo we can ban him :D

Anything you have questions on ask away as I may have forgotten. Steven will be posting a summary too on the SM forums.

Manchester United sign Arturo Vidal

Manchester United are pleased to announce the signing of Chilean International Arturo Vidal on a 3-season deal. With the midfielder injured for two weeks, Herrera was eager to sell for a club record fee along with Luke Shaw on loan for the rest of the season.

Arturo Vidal: "I am so happy. I have a lot to thank Herrera for as well as Aston Villa and Manchester City when I was at those clubs. I credit Herrera to being the player I am today and though I'm injured right now, I'll do my best to be back in top form."

Damien: "Arturo is a player we've admired for a while and as people know, midfield is an area we've needed reinforcements in. Arturo is the perfect player to take us forward. I'd like to thank Herrera for making this transfer as smooth as possible.

"Although we've signed two players in recent weeks for a combined £134.6M, we have enough for one more signing of that nature if need be. What we need right now is a quality defender, and for me we're a Neymar, Hazard/Sterling and Laporte away from my ideal squad. Alas, none of those look possible right now."

Surely he failed his medical, he's injured...

He passed with flying colours.

3 - Player caps may become optional however for some GW scouting is all there is left so they're not sure on that one. - already in-place in our GW (FFP)

4 - 14 day sign in minimum or lose your club. I suggested extended holiday mode to be allowed twice a year and they agreed to it. - Not much impact on active managers

5 - Stadium expansion up to a certain limit for smaller successful clubs. Nothing for bigger clubs. I suggested chairman manages this automatically depending on success rather then clubs paying for it and it was half agreed on. - Isn't this the case right now?

6 - UI changes which will make it more like SM2015. - Meh

7 - Transfers caps will be optionally lifted/increased so it won't be limited to 3 with the same club per season. - Probably won't impact much on our GW

8 - I asked for all season messages to be kept in an archive once they expire from the feed and they really liked the idea. - Nobody bothers to read anyway

9 - I asked if it was possible to kick people out of GW and they said if enough people complain to SM it will be investigated and kicked out so if we have enough of Damo we can ban him :D - Not going to happen. SM has no time

Agreed with your analysis. Can you imagine if the Devs turned around and went "yeah the old match engine was all random, sorry about that guys". Litterbug is a naive little monkey isn't he! :D

You just can't accept it can you  You must be one of those who cheats at Monopoly

I bet you're a Sun reader and you think it's all gospel right? RIGHT? You just don't understand how the industry works you naive little sausage.

I read the Sun, but only Page 3 and Striker. Also use their Sun+ perks but nothing more. Definitely do not think its gospel especially since they're hard-line Tories and I'm on well the opposite side.

We went into a detailed conversation about the engine but I only summarised it from what I remembered as it was a videochat. Join one of their other hangouts and discuss for yourself, maybe you have more insight than those of us who were there.

Now answer truthfully as I have, do you cheat at monopoly?

Oh yeah I forgot to add we talked about loans extensively. There will be changes which will include any player to go on loan but they will develop concerns if they're not played at the loan club. Also if you send them on loan on successive seasons the concerns get more serious.

I also mentioned about 3 loan cap and that will also change and different AI clubs will send loan requests rather than just one sending 20 of them and us fighting for it.

Can I get my violin out again @RedSky?

You realise you are making his point for him by asking him this repeatedly?

Which is, that I am a naive little sausage?

What will you do with a 72-rated Ertugrul Ersoy? Play him in 1 game per season (which he may still develop concern), or send him out on-loan to AI club that probably not going to play him as well?

Should have clarified that its more aimed at top players who your chairman doesn't allow to go out but you also can't field rather than youngsters.

Youngsters won't develop concerns while with me as they won't expect to play frequently, but IIRC changes will factor that AI clubs take loaners they can field.

Already happen in current GW. And not because we can't field them, rather we choose not to

This will affect all low rating players, in a sense that no club wants to accept them on-loan

That you expect them to be honest and tell you that there is a lot of randomness in the match engine. Just as you expect Phil to accept that he cheats at Monopoly even if he does.

First Team

de Gea (93)

Kompany (93) Ramos (95) Rodriguez (91)

Griezmann (92) Bale (94) Pogba (92) Vidal (94) Özil (94)

Götze (93) Messi (99)

Second Team

de Gea (93)

Zouma (88) Aurier (89) Digne (89)

Memphis (90) Eriksen (91) Gomes (90) Isco (92) Gaya (89)

Son (90) Lacazette (91)

Not bad.

This will affect all low rating players, hence my previous comment

It doesn't happen in current GW as most people can't send out 88-90 rated players. I can't even send out 83!

It won't affect them as they won't expect to be played in your team and likely not in others.

Someone did a chart of how much each rating expects to play earlier, refer to that to understand what I mean.

Well they were being quite honest and open about everything, for example like SoccerWiki being "full of twats", actual quote, and a whole revamp needed for it. Also about the Dev who did some UI who did a shit job. Same with transfer issues and a lot of stuff they accepted were a problem etc. I don't see why they would just plain lie and not say there is a randomness about it guys we're improving it instead of going into detail about how it works and whats being done to improve it.

Does it still happen? Pretty sure you are able to loan out one because you now have high squad rating

I edited my respond. Nothing to do with morale or concern if they never play. I assume you meant AI clubs will only make loan bid for players with high-enough rating? If so, no low-rated player can be loaned out. E.g. an AI club with overall rating of 78 will not loan in a 72-rated player

1. It does happen, and the changes will mean there is no restrictions on who goes out on loan, Falcao loan has made them see the light!
2. AI will loan players that they will field, even low rated ones can get into crappy AI teams from all walks of life (Brasil etc) as it is currently limited to unmanaged clubs within the league. Not sure how no.2 will pan out exactly as I went for a piss at some point during the loans as it was towards the end of a 2.5 hour discussion!

From SM:
"...Also the Chairman will not allow you to loan out any player who is classed as an important player within their squad. Your loan offer will not be submitted and it will be blocked immediately. A message will also be displayed stating “(Name of club)’s Chairman will not loan out this player so the bid has not been submitted”....

Looks like your 83-rated player is very important :)

They explained how the match engine works? Did you ask them how Nottingham, Fulham and Darlington can end up fighting for the division 1 title in one season? Or how a team that wins the title with a GD of 80 goals improves the 1st team in the summer and then ends up fighting near the relegation zone the next?

Any of ye want to do a race to 90 by picking the best young talent out of your squad under 80.

Sounds interesting. I would like to put Alberto Cerri forward but he is 80. That suffice? If not then Goerge Puscas is my next bet as the rest of my prominent under 80's are GK and they never go up to 90 quickly!

@LitterBug

23 vs 32, that's 9 points away from the leaders. Not a massive gap by any means but I'm not going to discuss the match engine further as you keep banging on about the same thing just because you're not doing well. Have a look at who Damo lost against, all teams that are doing very well.

Under 80 means 79 or below. Hope that helps.

Many thanks. Cnut!
