When the league started the top three divisions were pretty much full. Problem will be keeping the managers we have now. Even with the caps, some will be dispirited at the players available to them - though there are a few decent players available

That's very befitting of top club like Chelsea. Aston Villa manager however wants to replicate cup runs of last season where Villa reached finals of cup and quarters of shield, thus giving fans something to be happy about amidst the doom & gloom of relegation dogfight.
Chelsea reached the final of the shield last season using primary the second string side so as the first string got the time off they needed to get in to the top 4.

I just pulled out of a 27m deal for Tevez, I already agreed with the Sunderland manager for it and I'm guessing he'll be mad at me, is it wrong to cancel the deal at the last minute? I just thought for 27m I can spend the money elsewhere.

Youre new, so you need to learn the ropes of this market tbh. Dont make a habit of it.
He'll be angry but you're new and I'm sure he'll understand. In future just think carefully before going into deals, making offers etc. Remember the ratings in this game are based on their performances in real life.
Also new managers remember you can make use of the loan market. A few players on the loan list (Transfers > Lists > Loan List) who could be a decent option. You can only have a max of three players on loan but the parent club subsidise 50% of the wages
