Gundogans shit mate. Was dire for Dortmund, wouldnt want him at United.

Still getting back to his best as he's been out for a long time. I didnt watch much of him at all but from what I read, his passing, touch etc are getting back to its best. Its his movement and the physical ability on the pitch that is quite some way off. That should come with game time. Its why it'd be ideal for him to stay at Dortmund rather than move to a club like ours where there will be too much competition.

I was absolutely in love with Gundogan, pre-injury. Hope he can get back to his capability levels and most importantly, after United buy him.

He's miles away from pre injury Gundogan. Often went missing last year for Dortmund, says it all that most Dortmund fans are happy he's leaving. Might need a fresh challenge or the injuries have simply taken that extra 15% that makes a player good to special.

Which part of his game is miles away from the pre injury version though? Genuinely interested as you watch a lot of the Bundesliga. From what I gathered, it wasnt his passing, his touch or his vision etc. He just didnt seem physically at pace with the game. Ofcourse, the passing or touch isnt as good as it was earlier but not that much off and improving. The physical side of it should develop with time.

Same here. Absolutely wonderful player. Would love to see him get back to his best.

Strength, pace, desire. His passing was poor under pressure and had little defensive contribution. Miles away from pre injury Gundogan, but I wasnt overly keen on him anyway. Thought he was over rated based on a few good games in the CL.

The first 3 will come I believe. Hope he has an injury free next year. I rated him. Had everything in his locker.

My squad depth is paper thin. This is my team for tonight, with Gotze & Pogba suspended, Nasri sold and Bale injured

You call that paper thin, for my next league game im going to have to play 3 at the back as my only other option is to play an 85 right back, if a CB goes down im truly fecked as barlzagli misses 3 games.

Im not convinced, he was no better at the end of the season than at the start. Always hate seeing injuries ruining players.

That's sad. Let's see. I still think his talent was enough and the physical aspect should catch up with time. Was very unfit at the start of the season.

Five most expensive cash transfers:
  1. Ilkay Gundogan - £39.6M (Leicester City > Arsenal Season 4)
  2. Cristiano Ronaldo - £36M (Manchester United > Spurs Season 6)
  3. Wesley Sneijder - £35M (Manchester United > Chelsea Season 2)
  4. Edin Dzeko - £33.6M (Brighton & Hove Albion > Liverpool Season 4)
  5. Carles Puyol - £33.4M (Fulham > Barcelona Season 3)
Falcao to Newcastle United just outside on £33M.

£32m For Xhaka

I know for most of you cash is not an issue but that's fecking stoopid.

He is Albanian and will never ever fulfill his potential. None of our players ever have despite the unbelievable hype.

You have another Shaqiri on your hands at best and the only thing that bid will do is stop you accepting sensible offers for him when you realise he's not good enough for your squad because you paid too much money.

I've just had that exact situation with Varun and Gundogan today.

Four goals in five appearances, he ain't doing too badly for you.

Even Navas has done better than that :p

The Granit Xhaka bids in descending monetary value:

  4. Tottenham Hotspur - £27,768,000
  5. Manchester City - £21,447,000
  6. Queens Park Rangers - £21,000,000
  7. Milton Keynes Dons - £20,296,000
  8. Sunderland - £18,925,000
  9. Fulham - £17,990,000
  10. Chelsea - £17,921,000
  11. Ipswich Town - £16,620,000
  12. Darlington 1883 - £15,910,000
  13. Arsenal, Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United - £15,110,000

Manchester United statement

Manchester United would like to congratulate Nottingham Forest on winning the Granit Xhaka bidding war. It was always inevitable that Forest would win, despite the poor mind games manager Phil had done publicly. While Manchester United arguably have the squad of the 'now', it is clear that Forest have the squad of the future with talents such as Neymar, Marquinhos, Leno, Laporte, Fabinho, Vietto, Joelinton and now Xhaka on their books. They will be the team to beat in a few seasons time.

BBC reports that Paulo Oliviera is set to join the gunners subject to a medical.

He will come to Newcastle. Fee is irrelevant, we like our Albinos, Geordies love taking their tops off to show their pale complexion......

Oh wait.....Albanian

Forest Beat the League to Xhaka
I still have a dream, a dream deeply rooted in the Caftard dream - one day this club will rise up and live to its potential! For Damiens Manchester machine needs stopping and I shall take the first step in its destruction. Let this be the day that we stand, men of the Caf and Fight!
