United sign Guerreiro

Manchester United have made their first dip in the transfer market for a while with the signing of young Portuguese left-back Raphaël Guerreiro.

The 20-year-old was signed by Ligue 1 side Lorient from Ligue 2 side Caen at the start of the season and has since played every minute for the club in the league. He was named as the best left back in Ligue 2 last season and has also been touted as a possibility to make the Portugal squad for the World Cup this summer, though it may come a bit too soon in his career.

"We're delighted to have signed this player," said United manager Damien, "When I took over this club, I had an overhaul and signed quite a few talents, but the time is right to start delving in the market once more and replace those who haven't quite cut the mustard, or aren't going anywhere in the near future.

"From what I've seen of Guerreiro, I've liked the look of, and am grateful to the Forest manager who recommended him to me during one of our drinking sessions. Left back is a position we are short of options in, so the extra number is appreciated and we're hopeful that given what he's done so far, and his potential, he could remain here for many seasons to come and can play a big part in the future success of this club."

you lot are just luck I only have €2.43 in the transfer kitty. Everytime Joe Kinnear fecks up, a fiver is added to the box. I'll have a few mill in a week or 2.

Got a sports psychologist in, told us we're fecked. :(

Completely out played West Brom, they got 2 late goals. That's my top 4 hunt over.

I can maybe finish above Chelsea. But thats it, so i'm now fighting for 5th place.

Solid and expected win over Hull 3-0. With Chelsea losing, Top 4 is almost sealed!! I have also racked up my most points in a single season as gaffer of Newcastle.

Well played Ando, you've had a great season! One more win to confirm top 4.

Delighted so I am. Top 10 is always the aim, so to be in the mix with 2 games to go is sweet. In fairness if you do manage to get into 5th, that would be a fantastic season, considering the teams Chelsea and Arsenal started the season with.

Yessss 4-3 win over Arsenal. Problem is Messi is injured for two days and Isco is suspended for a game, but regardless, it's a huge victory and top four is pretty much sealed.

City in great position to win the title. If I can finish top three (likely), score over 100 goals (50/50 on whether it'll happen as on 95 with two games to go) and make it to the CL final (2-0 win from first leg of semis), it'll be a good season overall.

For sure, still an outside chance of being in the Top 4 if one of you/Spurs lose both final games and I get max points. I think i'll finish where I am now, might even finish 7th if Arsenal beat me. Either way, it's been a good season and i'll either equal or beat my position finish from last season in whats been a more competitive season. So all good.

Sturridge up to 91

Congrats, just in time for the last two games. Nice thing to go with your title win.
