Gaming The SM RedCafe League

New GW Rules

  • 2 Divisions with 20 English teams in each.
  • 3 clubs promoted/relegated.
  • Playoffs are on.
  • Normal Economy
  • Player concerns on
  • SMFA monitoring on
  • Player exchanges are on
  • No buying from unmanaged clubs
  • Buying from external clubs is allowed
  • No age restrictions
  • No rating restrictions
  • No transfer windows
  • No sacking
  • Default Squads
  • Each club starts with £50m
Does that sound alright?

Clubs will be first come, first serve as soon as the GW is opened up. The GW will open later in the afternoon most likely. It depends when SM allow the GW to go through.

Whoever is United isn't going to be happy. A certain chosen Juan hasn't been transferred.
 
I'l take United.

We should wait till the end of the window though, transfers are quite likely. It'l suck to go into the season without Mata, Kroos, Gundogan, Vidal and Glenn fecking Johnson :D

Also, we need more members. Atleast the ones who are already playing the existing league should join. The draft league is dead as it is so even the ones that dont have gold membership can play.

Christy is the new Arsenal manager.

Southampton and Everton look the two tastiest jobs IMO. Some great young players there and with £50m to spend you're not really hampered either and can still make several transfers.
 
I think either a lottery as RedSky has said would be fair, at the moment it was sheer luck to whoever was on the forum at the right time. Or possibly it should of been done so whoever had been in the 1st league the longest/all the time should pick first.

So it'd be the likes of Damien, Big-Red etc. then the likes of me and others getting the 2nd choice.
 
Also not to be harsh on the newbs but surely mains members should get first draw.

I'd say return all teams to available, then wait for some others to show. Maybe get Damien to put a poll in.

Edit: Even when teams are selected, I think we should wait for the transfer window to close so we have updated squads.

It's mainly a mains thing, the majority of teams taken are by mains members. Plus they is always the chance in the newbies of people becoming bored & leaving the game/forum. Should be a lot more stable with regular posting mains members.

Is it possible to give different teams different budgets? If possible, maybe give the lower teams a higher budget to cancel out the increase in player value?

Also, is there going to be some kind of limit(wages/values,etc)

It should be but we barely have ten posters. In this case, I dont think we should discourage the newbies, plus it is a redcafe league.
 
Considering we don't have a definite number of players, how do we want to do this draw? 10+ players (including Gaz) have declared interest. That list could potentially rise.

Here's what I'm thinking. At 5 PM I'll randomized the entire sign up list. Whoever is first has first pick, second has second pick, etc. If you don't make your pick within half an hour you are sent to the end of the line. If you know you won't be around though, you can send me a list of 12 teams in order of which you'd like them so you're guaranteed your one.

Tried to, but no. You can start with default budgets or you can set them all to a certain monetary amount. I picked 50.

True, anyway my idea was if we picked rather then got a random draw. It's irrelevant now.

Seems the best idea really, then hopefully we can fill the rest of the teams (at least in Div 1) by the time the transfer window shuts.

The GW is up. Didn't even consider the RL transfer window. :nervous:

Will see what other people think and then proceed with that.
 
Yeah, a random draw would be fair. No preference to main members though if the newbies have been around for a while, kagawazzz etc. Also, pretty sure trionz would be interested. Am in class, could someone pm him in SM?

And yeah, definitely wait till the window finishes.

Already spoke to trionz. He'd join if we needed, but he wouldn't be able to concentrate on the league is what he said.
