Gaming The SM RedCafe League

Holy fecking jesus. Really? That much money?!

Worth it imo. He's a cert to be rated 93 or more in a year or 2. Cracking player.

:( Congrats Varun. That's a league record fee for him. Can't see that being beaten.

Cheers mate. And yeah, managed clubs have all the top players and they wont do cash deals. Dont see it being beaten myself.

good stuff Varun. a ballsy fee but it paid off.

Yeah, huge fee mate but I always knew Damo would bid high. Expected Darlington to join in too and we all know how much cash he has. It was always going to take 35mil plus to get him and I didnt want to risk losing him for a couple of mil more.

The following players are up for sale at Arsenal:

RAFAEL, Cabral GK 23yrs old. Rated 88.
AQUILANI, Alberto M,AM(C). 29yrs old. 90 rated.
DE JONG, Nigel, DM,M(C) 28yrs old. 91 rated. (P/EX preferred in this case)

Yup. Inevitable really considering the player in question. Am just surprised Trionz didnt come in for him. He was the one I was most concerned about.

Lest I forget in the Gundogan hooplah,

Arsenal also welcome Mats Daehli to their squad. Just added to the database yesterday and am pleased to sign him. Bright future ahead of him and got him for peanuts.

Possibly he out of money (at long, long last)?

Naah, he has loads. He's just bought Pirlo for 14mil or so and he has loads of risers who he's not going to be out of cash for a while. I have an inkling why he hasnt bid though. Lets see whether am right, should be clear soon.

Think I might know where you are going with that.

40m? Over pay alert.

Its a fair price for someone like Gundogan imo. He's already 91 rated and unless things go very wrong in his career, he'l rise and quickly at that. I'd be very surprised if he wasnt rated 93 in a year or two. Long term, I see him alongside the likes of Isco, Gotze etc as 95 rated players. 39mil for a 91 rated player is too much, agreed but makes sense long term imo.

He's lucky to be at 91 now in fairness

That's the way this gameworld has gone. Not alot of talented players available that are young and of a great rating already. Money builds up from lack of muppetry and then boom, bidding war. Atleast varun got him, spurs equally could have fitted him in. Damo just has bucket loads of talent there already. So fairs fair.

Could have fit him in, was never really intending on buying him tbh, threw in a bid for the sake of it, see if the others would up there own bids.

That could be said for any young player. But we all know that in the real world, only Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime pay that much money for players.

The problem is that two of them will probably lose their midfielder status at some point. I have no luck when it comes to player position changes. Balotelli lost his ability to play on the wings a few days or so after signing for me (and he had only played one game or two for Milan at that point), and van Persie lost his ability to play on the wings not long after I took over. It's ridiculous.

My midfield options:

Bender (90)
Eriksen (90)
Isco (90)
McCarthy (88)
Pogba (87)

The two players in red are the ones I reckon will lose their midfielder status at some point in the near future. Eriksen is suspended for the first leg of the Champions Cup knockouts, leaving me with Bender and Isco. If one of them gets injured before then (likely), I'm pretty screwed. I've got a lot of players but not a lot of strength in depth. I've had no midfielders above 90 for a while.

Arsenal's current options:

Fabregas (95)
Modric (93)
Gundogan (91)
De Jong (91)
Aquilani (90)

Of course a couple of them are past it.

Tottenham's options:

Alonso (95)
De Rossi (94)
Khedira (92)
Song (91)

They've got the stronger midfields at the moment, but I've probably got more talents. It's just a question of how fast they'll rise.

Genuinely. He's been increased too quickly. They went over the top in Germany during the last update.

Though I do agree that the increases in germany happened too quickly but you just have to look around to understand that Gundogan deserves his 91. Just look at my squad itself. De Jong at 91. Aquilani at 90. If these 2 deserve their ratings(neither in Germany you see), doesnt Gundogan deserve to be 91?

I'l be moving on Aquilani and even De Jong in the near future as I cant afford all their wages. So I'l be going your route of trying to find younger players to replace them. Thats why I went big for Gundogan. Am going to recover close to 25mil from these 2 sales and will replace them with younger CM who might rise. So a 40mil outlay on Gundogan wasnt really ridiculous as I'd have had no chance of getting someone of his quality in if I'd let the chance pass.

Exactly this. All the young talented players are taken by managed clubs and there's no way you can convince people to sell young talented players on the cheap and understandably so. 40mil in the bank isnt worth much when all you can buy is youngsters in their early 80s from external clubs. Half of the talented ones even here are at United, City or Darlington. This really leaves a very select list of players that are young and already highly rated who can be acquired.

The way I see it,

I spend 40mil on Gundogan. Now with him in the squad, I can sell Aquilani and even De Jong before they start falling. Aquilani will go for close to 10mil, De Jong for 15mil. So I'l recoup close to 25mil thus having a net outlay of 15mil while cutting close to 50k off my wage budget at the same time. I'll try and get in 1 more cheap young CM and that'd be my midfield sorted for the next couple of years atleast.

I agree. Excellent signing for you and will be 92 soon enough.

I've got no idea how or why I paid that much for Milanov but it doesn't seem to be going too badly with him. Bulgarian player of the year and got himself a move to CSKA Moscow. I know there was a fair bit of competition for Vilhena.

Just one wage increase today. Glen Johnson to £55k a week for 5 seasons. Jesus christ.

I don't honestly care about "any concerns the player may have had" because I'm selling him in a couple of weeks you bloody idiot Mr Chairman.

Fair enough then. Generally, good luck, how the hell did you shag your squads fitness like that? Half of your squad has red fitness, it's some achievement

Not had a laptop for the last 2 weeks so haven't been able to change any of the squad around, that and a few cup games have knackered me.

I wish I played you tonight instead of next game.

Team still won't be fit for Sunday, 2nd string will be out for 3-4 games.
