Gaming The SM RedCafe League

Preseason so far.

Arsenal:

One of the really big spenders so far this pre-season as they set a new transfer record when they brought back Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, after Cesc realised that the sun and heat really wasnt all that nice.

Their preseason have been pretty decent so far, and they've notched up 4 out of 4 possible wins so far with an impressive 16-2 in goal difference. Have to say that they havent been tested by decent opposition yet, but still some very encouraging signs from The Gunners in this pre-season.

The games so far (WWWW):

Arsenal - Blackburn Rovers 3-1
Arsenal - Barnet 4-0
Arsenal - Torquay 6-0
Arsenal - Notts County 3-1

Aston Villa:
Aston Villa got new owners ahead of this season, and they've currently taken the Manchester City-approach to this upcoming season. As they've brought in a few superstars, they are surely looking like challengers this year. They will be happy with their pre-season so far, but some might say it's still room for improvements.

Games so far (WWLW):

Exeter City - Aston Villa 0-1
Aston Villa - Bristol Rovers 4-0
Aston Villa - Chelsea 0-1
Wigan - Aston Villa 0-2

A goal difference of 7-1 is decent though, atleast when you concider the opposition they've been up against.
Blackburn:
Struggling Blackburn have not been at their best in this pre-season, and after a crushing 1-3 defeat to Arsenal in the very first game of the season, the board were unhappy with the results and sacked Steve Kean. His replacement opted to go for some much needed experience in the transfer window, and he improved the results from the get go. Even though Blackburn are yet to win a game under the new manager, it's surely only a matter of time until they really start to find the net.

Games so far (LDDL):

Arsenal - Blackburn 3-1
Blackburn - Stevenage 1-1
Wolves - Blackburn 1-1
Blackburn - Sunderland 0-2

With a goal difference of 3-7 so far in this pre-season, it's obvious that the loss of Samba have hit the club hard (Piss off if you think about putting in a bid for him you bastards) and the manager might need to find someone to partner Carvalho in defense as they look to improve from the horrible season they experienced last season.

Bolton:
Bolton doesnt seem to be too bothered about losing Gary Cahill to Chelsea earlier this season, as their only purchases so far have been in the offensive department. Eriksen is no doubt a coup for a club like Bolton, as the young Dane have been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Cardiff in the last year. Their preseason have been decent, and they are yet to be beaten, but they might not be too happy about a draw against the likes of Crawley and Plymouth. Owen Coyle was the only who only managed to draw against Plymouth though, and promptly got himself fired because of this game.

Games so far (DWWD):

Plymouth - Bolton 1-1
Scunthorpe - Bolton 1-2
WHU - Bolton 0-2
Crawley - Bolton 1-1

GD: 6-3

Everton 0 - 1 Ipswich Town

Scored with my one shot on target. My tactics worked a treat, the bus was parked.

Chelsea:
Yet another team that's been busy in the transfer window so far, and Özil and Iniesta have no doubt improved an aging midfield. A good preseason so far, and the club seems to have gotten back to it's feet after AVB got sacked merely hours into his reign as the Chelsea-manager, as he didnt bring the CL-trophy with him, as was expected by Roman. The new manager had to face alot of pressure from his very first day, and perhaps the nerves got the best of him as his side only managed to get a draw in their first game in preseason, as Blackpool were able to hold on to secure a 0-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Games so far (DWWW):
Chelsea - Blackpool 0-0
Chelsea - Dagenham & Redbridge 5-2
Aston Villa - Chelsea 0-1
Chelsea - Wycombe Wanderers 3-0

A GD of 9-2 so far is encouraging, but the pressure is growing on the Chelsea-boss as he's not yet been able to bring in the CL-trophy. Time will show if the manager is given enough time to play atleast one European game.
Everton:

Fulham:
Not many signings have been completed at Craven Cottage as of yet, but they've managed to bolster their midfield with two great players. Many would say that a few more signings are much needed though, as their preseason so far have been a little bit of hit and miss. An embarrasing loss against Hartlepool United were followed by a goalless draw against the very same opposition the very next day. Things were looking a little bit better after a trashing of Shrewsbury Town, but things took a turn for the worse as they only managed to draw against Oxford United.

Games so far (LDWD):
Hartlepool United - Fulham 1-0
Fulham - Hartlepool United 0-0
Shrewsbury Town - Fulham 1-4
Fulham - Oxford United 1-1

GD: 5-3

Liverpool:
Liverpool have been very quiet on the transfer front this far, and have so far only brought in a striker in Guiseppe Rossi. And why would they need to bring in anymore players at the moment, as they've seem to be the best team in preseason so far. The Reds from Merseyside know that they have a tough task ahead though, and that they need to be prepared before probably the hardest fixture in the league awaits them in the very first round in the league; Home vs Swansea.

Games so far:
Northampton Town - Liverpool 0-1
Yeovil Town - Liverpool 2-6
Liverpool - Milton Keynes Dons 6-0
Bradford City - Liverpool 2-5

GD: 18-4
A great pre-season so far, but shipping two goals against the likes of Yeovil and Bradford might encourage the manager to bring in a few defenders and maybe ship out the Danish thug and the Pokemon-character who currently resides in the heart of their defense.

Manchester City:
By bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo at the beginning of the season, City might look like favorites to the majority of the pundits running around in England, and their preseason have surely proved that they will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. Their main worry might be their defensive efforts, as the club've managed to ship 6 goals in 4 matches against inferior clubs.

Games so far (WWWW):
Burnley - Man City 1-5
Man City - Preston North End 5-0
Man City - Barnsley 4-3
Crystal Palace - Man City 2-3

GD: 17-6

Manchester United:
Taking over for Sir Alex Ferguson is no easy task, but the manager surely have already done enough to be concidered himself as one of the all time great at the club as he managed to lure the world famous midget Lionel Messi to the club in exchange for badboys Rooney and Ferdinand. A masterstroke by the manager, and the gnome will surely attract alot more families to the stadium, as people always find the amusing side to watching a freak of nature. Hopefully he'll turn out to be sometimes besides a sideshow act at halftime, but the manager will surely become a fans favorite in no time if his other signings are as entertaining as his first one. The preseason however have been solid, and the defense are looking very solid, having only shipped a single goal in the first four matches.

Games so far (WWWW):

Middlesbrough - Man Utd 1-2
Doncaster Rovers - Man Utd 0-3
Man Utd - Wycombe Wanderers 4-0
Man Utd - Hereford United 3-0

Solid wins all around, and with a goal difference of 12-1 the reigning champions are looking strong as ever.

Newcastle:
After a shaky start, the Barcodes got their shit together and suddently started to look like a team. With a few improvements to the team, Newcastle are looking to bring in a few new faces ahead of the new season but seems to be in good form at the moment as they've just recently recorded a 7-0 win against poor Yeovil Town, a club who've already mananged to put a few past Liverpool.

Games so far (DDWW):

Newcastle - Charlton Athletic 1-1
Morecambe - Newcastle 1-1
Newcastle - Bury 3-0
Newcastle - Yeovil Town 7-0

GD: 12-2

feck it, I had the entire league gathered in one post but lost it all.

Not that any of you feckers seemed to care one bit.

I thought they were really funny. I laughed at the 'He's not brought in the CL trophy yet' for my Chelsea one. Was waiting until they were all finished to reply, like Damien!

You've got a good distance to go before you overtake Damo, but keep putting in performances like this and you'll be up for consideration soon enough :smirk:

Just got in from the Derby v Forest game, excellent atmosphere. I'll have a catch up now.

Can waiting for the bid to be accepted/rejected take longer than 24 hours? With one of my bids I'm 40 minutes away from the 24 hour mark.

Seems to be a bit random. I had transfers accepted in 12 hours, sometimes it takes almost 48...

Couldnt really be bothered to write another story for the remaining teams, but I'll make a little overview for those who doesnt bother to read the stories.

*waits for Burrow's review of the Championship...*

Agreed, Swansea have been brilliant. They do miss someone who'll not afraid to kick a few teeth in, and one who'll bash a few skulls in needed. I got just the man lined up for the job though.

When I'm on the laptop I'll provide a list of whose available for purchase and loans.

John Terry - he won't punch you, but he WILL sleep with your wife! He's not on my 'For sale' list, so you can have him for £25m.
