Gaming The SM RedCafe League

It would be second violation for Wino.
  • 1st violation: 1 month
  • 2nd violation: 1 SM season
It would but like I said, the rules weren't envisaged for an instance like this. The consensus (from like four people who posted) is that a ban should be served but also the view is that a whole season ban for it is excessive and a month would suffice.

1999: Ibrahima Konate
2000: Jadon Sancho
2001: Eddie Salcedo(?) lacking in talent on this one
2002: Luka Sucic
2003: Jude Bellingham
2004: Matheus Nascimento

I had accepted an outgoing bid before an incoming one. SM bugged out and according to others profiles one player moved later than the other.

I even provided the screenshots of my profile to show it.
You still dont understand the rule, it's not due to one player moving before another, it's about the bids being made.

Impressive spread of ages and quality.

Regarding the ban, i think rules should be consistent in fairness to the other managers.
We could however discuss whether a season-long ban is needed, maybe it’s too harsh. A second violation of the FFP could be a one month ban aswell, so long as the manager sell the excess players.

I did of course not accept the bid to intentionally put Wino over the limit, i had no idea he was at cap. Simply accepted the best bid i had for my player then. I did ask for max price and was told no, but my understanding was that you were rejecting my counteroffer and were still willing to pay 14m, since the bid was still in. Misunderstanding.

I think the fact you could accept his £14m makes this a violation though. He had a bid that he could win as it was placed.

If there was zero interest surely you’d remove the bid that’s what most of us do,

The only way to apply the rules as they are understood by all is to implement a season long ban.

I think a season long is harsh but I thought it was harsh for me too especially given I was banned for a bug in players changing over one before another.

It should be season long but we should now change the rules as a result of this situation so any future misunderstandings are dealt with with an element of common sense.

We’re the rules envisaged for bugs? Because I didn’t go over FFP for my second violation and got a season ban?

Either way the rule needs to be tweaked.

So explain what the bug was, because there i quite literally no way to go over ffp without making a bid.
I had an accepted outgoing player.

I then had a bid accepted on an incoming player.

On my SM profile the outgoing player moved then incoming came in. I screenshotted my screen to show this.

However another user had a different timestamp. So I got banned.

Nevermind just found it, It wasn't a glitch, it was because you failed to realise that the number displays the last comment and not the original post timestamp.
You still accepted the bid before accepting the outgoing bid, just that the timestamp reported was different on your mobile due to SM displaying the timestamp of the most recent comment.

You still accepted the bid before having your outgoing bid on accept.

No the time stamp was based on the original.

I used the desktop version.

I know when I accepted a bid it was a bug. Hence why I was annoyed.

thats not what your screen shot suggests... the screen shot you posted shows both bids being accepted at 18 hours prior... Which means; You has a bid on a player before you accepted the departure of your player. ..

@Damien how long do the FFP violations carry over for, do they go down a level after after a period of time or are they wiped clean like penalty points and if not maybe we should look into doing something like this, as anyone can cock up once or twice in a year, but should they still get reprimanded for a level 2 or 3 for something they did 2 years ago.

I’d agree with this. Maybe after each in game season it resets?

I was thinking, a level drop a year from the end of received ban, so it would take 2 years to be totally clear, I think 1 season is too short myself and isn't really much of a punishment.
Yeah actually that’s a far better idea!

Or we could a an FFP awareness course instead? Like for speeding?

That’s 3 SM seasons roughly which is surely long enough. At the moment it’s like having a criminal record!

If Norwich does become unmanaged, I think there's a decent chance of finding a replacement manager. Maybe from the Desi league? Though the record from there is mixed so far with Moby and Maradona not lasting too long.

Maradona is active, no? I just checked with him and he's logged in a day or 2 back.

Everton showing why they're the title favourites with a 4:0 victory away to Liverpool.

I won 4:0 away to Forest.

So here is the situation:
I've PM'd a manager, asking what he's looking for in exchange for a player s, he's replied he's interested in 2 of my players and could provide a +1 for either of.
I've replied i'll accept a deal, and after him sending a bid i've told him I am at cap and would need to sell a player first to make room, I've offered him a young 200k prospect to which he's rejected and stated he will wait until i've sold them.

Less than 24 hours later I've informed him I wanted to keep my player, and apologised that I had messed him around. To which i receive a message saying ''yeah, that's a dick move, but hey ho''.
I've even offered at that point to still do the deal if he's that upset by it. He's replied that's its poor etiquette because i've pulled out last minute...

Have I acted poorly, is this bad etiquette? Is pulling out less than 24hours from a deal last minute or a 'dick move'?

I'll repeat what I said before.

Once you hit "Accept Transfer", messing with the transfer from that point onwards is a dick move. But before that it's fair game, nothing is official or set in stone, you're allowed to change the deal or pull out if you've had a better offer or change of heart.

You missed the part where you accepted the transfer then cancelled it 20 minutes later.

Look everyone has a right to change their mind, but in my mind once you have a deal agreed in writing you should honour it, otherwise it's poor etiquette. You can disagree with that if you like.

20 mins? it was less than 5 mins
Secondly, it was squad cap, i didn't cancel because I Didn't want the deal.

I personally think once you’ve verbally agreed it’s a dick move.

I think if you’ve physically pressed accept then again it’s a dick move.

I don’t think anyone deliberately tries to be dickish but at the same time if you in the same situation would feel annoyed then it’s a dick move.

In my head would I be annoyed if someone last minute cancelled a deal? Absolutely so I don’t do it to others.

Doing so after clicking accept though? I would be livid.

*Grabs popcorn*

Lastly, I've offered to do the deal if you are unhappy with how things unfolded, it's not that big an issue to me.
If you’ve since offered to do the deal that’s less dickish.

Poor etiquette to cancel but at least you’re willing to go through with it.

I said I've decided to keep coutinho, He said that was a dick move, i've offered to go ahead with the deal.
I really don't know how my integrity is being questioned here, I just feel going down the route of... ''thats a dick move'' is childish.

I decided against the transfer less than 24 hours after verbally agreeing it.

If you’ve offered to still go through with the deal I don’t see the issue other than a mild inconvenience.

Squad depth a bit thinner on the ground now but should still be enough to be competitive in multiple competitions.

LB is fine with Alaba, Gaya and Tierney. Dest, Konate and Bellingham are my notable youths at the moment but need a bit more work, especially in defence, to be okay for the future.
@Damien what do you use to make those team sheets with the fade behind for 2nd XI?

Cheers
